History

Established in 1976.

Since graduating from University of Ca. San Francisco School of Dentistry in 1976, Vacaville, Ca. has been our home. While raising our 5 children here, Judy and I have appreciated the «hometown» feeling the community has offered.

I continue to enjoy the challenges and opportunities a busy dental practice brings. I hope to be a part of our patients lives for years to come. Perhaps one of the reasons I enjoy running & working out regularly at the gym, is knowing it will keep me active and involved with my patients and dentistry (when I’m older & wiser) for many years to come.

My only regret is that I didn’t find Dr. Esplin sooner. Very professional and courteous staff and Dr. Esplin is sooo painless and the crown that I got looks and feels like the original tooth.
I would actually rate this wonderful group of people higher than 5 stars.

First time visit, as I was looking for a new dentist in this area. I decided on Dr. Esplin because of the reviews. My experience: Nice office, convenient location. Friendly doctor… fast, efficient, which I can appreciate… did not try to up-​sell, and even discouraged previous [unnecessary] procedures that I mentioned had been recommended by my previous general dentist. I think Dr. Esplin is, for the most part, an honest practitioner… at least that was my initial impression from that short (less than 30 mins.) office visit for my bi-​annual cleaning. HOWEVER… I have never been told by any previous dentist that I only need to come once a year for a check-up/cleaning…that is, until now! I mean, sure, I may have nice teeth and good dental hygiene… because I AM used to keeping up with my regular exams, x-​rays, etc. So then why, when the norm for a check-​up and cleaning exam has always been (since I was little) allowed for EVERY SIX MONTHS, wouldn’t I question when I am now being advised to only come ONCE A YEAR??? They accepted me as a new patient, yet I felt like they did not need my «business.» Was I too honest on my application/​dental history questionnaire? Was the doctor weeding me out due to my lack of need for dental procedures? I am doubtful, skeptical, and now untrusting of this clinic… so, it’s unlikely that I will return. And how unfortunate, because there really was potential for me becoming an established patient there, and because I do think that Dr. Esplin would provide quality services.

After going to the same dentist for over 25 years, I had to find a new one as mine retired. I chose Dr. Esplin after reading the reviews on Unilocal and was extremely satisfied in all areas of his practice – from his staff to his kind and concerned manner. I felt very comfortable with him and will now be a patient of his as long as possible. I highly recommend him to all!!!

I have been going to Dr Esplin for years and he is the best! I have never had any trouble
with the work he has done. i recently had two bridges replaced and they look great.
His staff is pretty awesome too. If you are looking for a great dentist he is the one for you.

The entire staff is amazing! The receptionist is very kind and helpful. She told me exactly what I would owe out of pocket for my procedure and was very pleasant during my phone call and in person. Seems like that should be simple enough but after calling several other popular dentists in the area, I realized it wasn’t. Her service was exceptional and much appreciated.
Dr. Esplin was awesome! He was very friendly and kind. He doesn’t try to upsell, like some dentists I’ve had in the past. I trust this dental practice and I’m relieved to finally have a dentist that I trust with my teeth!

Dr Esplin has been my dentist since I was a child. I am now 40. My mother, my children have been going here as well. He is the most gentle dentist and a most awesome guy. His staff is professional and honest. No up sell like other dentist. He gets in does the work and gets it done quickly.

1st Visit. Extremely professional staff. I got in within a week of calling. X-​rays first. Dr. Esplin performed my cleaning and very thorough. Used manual tools first and didn’t hurt my sensitive gum areas. Then used rotary machine and was finished in total in 40 minutes. Didn’t feel rushed, just right. Very personable, ultra trustworthy. I have had many dentists and others who were looking to find extra work. No upsell. Just honest feedback and areas to focus on and watch.

With all of lifes stressers happening. The biggest stress relief is finding this dentist for my family. Our family has spent so much money on bogus dental work with other dentist. It is extremely hard to find a trusting and competent dentist. I know that is harsh to say. But, I have spent over $ 13,000.00 on dental work that was done incorrectly. And, that’s only half of the cost. So finding a good Dentist at this point is an ordeal for our family and pocketbook. Dr. Esplin is in a field of his own. He is kind and knows what he is doing. He is NOT greedy like most of the dentist. He stands tall along with another great dentist Dr. Pickett in Vallejo. Other then that no other dentist exist. Thank you to Tammy as well. What a great experience!!!

I first saw Dr. Esplin as a patient in 1984. The only times I have seen another dentist since that time is when Dr. Esplin was not available. No other dentist I have been treated by compares to Dr. Esplin in both skill and demeanor. There is a reason why I call him «Painless!» Trust me, because of a very painful and traumatic dental experience in my youth, I am a very harsh judge of dentists. My only regret with this review is that I am limited to only five stars. I recommend him without any reservation, as well as his supremely competent and caring staff. Going in for an appointment there is almost like seeing family. I will truly grieve if I need dental work after he finally retires. You will not regret being one of his patients.

The service that Dr. Esplin and staff provide to their patients is outstanding! It all started a few years back, (on a Sunday) when our son while playing sports, suffered a fractured on a tooth. His regular dentist was not available to treat him. Due to the severity of the injury, we called several dental offices hopping for a miracle.
We were very impressed when Dr. Esplin personally returned our call. We explained the situation and immediately, he instructed us to meet him in his office. When we got there, all the equipment was ready. He assured my husband and I that our son will be fine. His empathy was very comforting to us.
It was so great, when our son came out and his tooth was in place and looked fine. Dr. Esplin provided us with follow up instructions.
Thanks to Dr. Esplin the tooth was saved and our son has his beautiful smile back.
Needless to say, we switched dentists and now our family comes from Elk Grove to bee seen by him.
I have recommended his great service to my friends and coworkers. They are as pleased as we are.

A great individual dentist. I’ve been a patient for nearly 15 years and have no desire to look elsewhere for dental care. The office staff is friendly and helpful getting you convenient appointments based on your schedule. Dr. Esplin is a great dentist doing what is needed and not trying to up sell additional services. He provides high quality compassionate care and accepts insurance. You never wake up hoping to go to the dentist that day but Dr. Esplin’s office makes it a painless and pleasant experience. All I can say is that they took care of me when I needed them the MOST. Dr. Esplin is someone who will make you feel comfortable and unafraid. I have been traumatized for life by my school dentist back in the Philippines. I wasn’t even 15 years old when he decided to pull not just one, but 4 molars at the same day. Saying that I had something called as juvenile periodontal disease. only to find out from another dentist that what he did to me was not needed. Anyway, fast forward to 2014, I was introduced to Dr. Esplin. He solved my problem in one day, and basically took my pain away. I would love to continue going to his clinic, but the distance is just too much for me. Since I can’t drive yet. Thumbs UP to Dr. Esplin and his team. Thanks for everything. c”,)

My family has been going to Dr Esplin for over 30 years. He is the best. I used to have to take a tranquilizer before going to the dentist because I was so traumatized by other dentists as a child. Since going to Dr Esplin I’ve been fine. He is such a kind, caring man. Without a doubt, the best dentist I’ve ever had. His work is state of the art and always excellent. I had front tooth root canal and had no pain! I highly recommend him. You won’t be sorry!

Too bad there are only 5 stars! I am very selective about dentists, having spent many years in the dental field. If you are looking for a great dentist, a friendly team in a comfortable atmosphere — look no further. Dr. Esplin will not try to «upsell» you. I am very happy with the treatment I received. This office is a rare gem — good quality dental treatment, reasonable fees and high ethics.

Dr. Esplin is a great doctor. Very friendly staff as well. I love when i come in, there’s not much of a wait. One thing i would like to mention, prior to moving to California, I went to a doctor in Illinois and told me I had 2 cavities on the right side. I never got around to getting them filled due to the move. So when I arrived in CA, i mentioned it to Dr. Esplin. Fortunately for me, the doctor in Illinois OVER DIAGNOSED me (smh) so i saved me some $ on fillings. I have also taken my 5 year old here. She likes them because they reward her with goodies! :)

Once upon a time, I chipped one of my front teeth. Being the vain creature that I am, I called Dr. Esplin’s office freaking out and begged to get an emergency appointment ASAP. They literally had me in a chair within 15 minutes, fixing that bugger and making me presentable again. I am forever grateful to Dr. Esplin and his staff
