Ray’s Cycle

I must say, every time I go to Ray’s the staff are always very friendly. I’m always asked right away if I need assistance. This is both from sales and service folks. The problem is; they never ever have the parts I need. I’ve needed bearing sets, seat posts, miscellaneous hardware, etc. I always leave empty-​handed. I like to resurrect old bicycles and give new life to bikes that would otherwise be «put to sleep.» Maybe it’s the wrong type of bike shop for my needs. I’m not sure. It’s a great shop if you go in with a lot of cash looking for a high-​end bike. There’s lots of us who enjoy single speed older bikes as well. Maybe I need to find a bicycle «salvage yard?» Again, nice folks at Ray’s.

What a wonderful experience working with the owners of this shop! First time in the shop but it certainly will not be my last time. One of the best bike shops I think I’ve ever been in. Ask them to share the stories about how they used to sell lawnmower and chainsaws along with bikes! Buy your bike and gear from this shop, you won’t regret it!

We drove all the way from South Bay to this store just for the selection of bikes and the great customer service! Both Mike and Ray are super friendly and treat you like a buddy.

I made a visit this morning, and was greeted by a very sweet young lady by the name of Kaylee*. I let her know my situation and aspirations for a few upgrades and changes. She was very helpful with suggestions and constructive opinions. She brought me to Casey; he was very assertive and listened to every detail I had presented, it took him no less than 5 minutes tops to go in the back and whip out exactly what I had described to him. I made my purchase and left completely satisfied –I returned a few hours later to be welcomed again, I came back for a tube that was humbly offered earlier). Now I am back on the road again, thanks to the amazing staff at Ray’s Cycle. And if there is anyone out there that knows the Precision of a bicycle; Ray’s knows it’s through the heart of the rider, not their wallet. Thank ya’ll so much.

Best experience ever! I originally started looking for a hardtail MTB to start riding to get back into shape around Oct 2013. I stopped in almost weekly to pick the employees mind on what would be the best option for me. I only wanted to buy one and was looking at doing some offroad trail riding as well as some road riding to and from work. After a lot of research and multiple trips to Ray’s and other bike shops I decided on a 2013 Specialized Carve Pro. I ordered the bike through Ray’s and about a week later they got it in and had it all put together and tuned up for me. They also give you a 15% off anything you buy within a couple months of buying a new bike as well as a free service within the first year of ownership. I started riding the bike ASAP and had a few issues here and there. Well everytime I took it into Ray’s they fixed it at no cost to me! I was hooked. I then went and bought a 2014 Trek Domane road bike in Feb 2014 and have had nothing but good experiences yet again with Ray’s everytime I’ve gone into the shop. Finally I decided I wanted to get into some more extreme MTBing around Mar 2015. Ray’s put on a private demo ride and invited me to try out a brand new 2015 Stumpjumper FSR and I was sold! I ended up buying a used 2014 Specialized Stumpjumper. Since then I have had a couple of problems with the bike but Ray’s has been there to help me at every turn! These guys are great, super friendly, and love to just hang around talking about bikes! This is and will always be my #1 bike shop! The only problem I have ever had is they are always super busy when it comes to their maintenace professionals. However, this is because they are such a great shop to go to that everyone wants to bring their bikes to them. I actually have taken at least 2 other people into Ray’s and gotten them to buy bikes because of how much praise I give them at work. Thanks for being such a great shop guys!

Early in the morning I arrived at the Vacaville Transit Center to discover the bike I had locked up the day before had been viciously attacked. Because the frame and tire were locked down, the lowlifes resorted to removing my handlebars and cutting all the brake lines, and gear shifting cables. As someone who relies on his bike to get to work, it was an awful way to start the day.
Once I got to Ray’s everything got better. The entire staff was very friendly, and offered words of comfort when they heard about my situation. Ray helped me throughout the day. He took special care to resolve the issues I had and went above and beyond for me in every way. Ray is very honest (did not try to up-​sell anything), knowledgable, and community oriented. Its great to see someone who takes so much pride in what they do. I get the sense Ray enjoys seeing one of his customers happily riding their bike on a sunny day, more so than he would enjoy collecting their money.
At the end of the day I left Ray’s very satisfied. His whole staff was responsible for turning a terrible day, into an actual good day. Its great to know that this shop is so close to where I live. Ray’s Cycle shop is a true asset to Vacaville, all of Solano county, and beyond. I look forward to seeing Ray and his staff again when my tune up is due.

I didn’t buy my bike from them but I did use them for service. Every guy working in the back seems to have an attitude problem and doesn’t make you feel like they are there for you. Basically, customer service is below par at best. The best advice I have for Ray is to not let customers interact with the service guys since they seem to have better things to do than help you with a smile. I’ve worked for a company similar and customer service is a must. All in all, I would only shop here if you want to buy a cheap bike and never deal with them. If you want great customer service, go elsewhere! Those cliché terms like «the customer is always right» and «don’t make them feel like an idiot» apparently don’t apply here.

My mom passed shortly after purchasing a bike from Rays Bike in Vacaville. They were so professional, understanding & helped us without hassles return the bike. Thank you so much! We will always recommend and shop Rays Bikes!

Purchased my first road bike at Ray’s almost 2 year ago and it’s been a true love story ever since. Honestly it can be intimidating walking into a bike shop as a newbie, but Ray’s did a excellent job setting me up with a bike that was just right for me. I’ve been joining the Ray’s shop ride on Monday night and having a blast. They offer two group rides for both beginners and intermediate level. Great way to meet folks and explore the area. Thanks Ray’s for all your help and support of the local bike scene here in Solano!

Bait and switch I wouldn’t trust these guys with yesterday’s newspaper I called ahead of time to check a price on a part when I got there there was a very nice girl that told me the guys in the back can help me when I got to the back there was a Three Stooges show going older guy (curly) and younger beardo (Larry) sat there silently while the clean shaven younger guy (moe) was a jerk from the get go he showed me the part I turned it over to check the price it was three times what he quoted me on the phone when I asked him why he says that’s just how much it is and if I didn’t want it I should leave what kind of customer service is this no they can check online for a cheaper one nothing they just wasted my time and gas for nothing what a jerk check the reviews that are not recommended these are the real reviews

I have been riding bikes and going into shops for years and I have to say my recent visit to Rays was by far the best experience to date. I cant tell you how many times I have been into a shop and the guys were «too cool», «too busy» or straight up didn’t care about my business. If you have experienced this before and are looking for a great shop in your area or just looking for a good family vibe to buy a bike and/​or parts from this is the place to go. Everyone at the shop is very nice and was there to educate me and answer any questions I had about my purchase. I had the service guys swap some parts out and they did an excellent job too. Quality work! Huge thanks to Garret, Caylee, and Justin for talking the time to help me and triple checking that everything was right and that I was well taken care of. When I’m back in Vacaville I will be stopping by here again. Thanks Rays Cycle for my new bike I cant wait to ride it.

Ray’s Cycle is the best. My partner and I have have bought 2 bikes each from Ray’s — cross trails and now road bikes (can’t wait for them to be built and ready to go) — not too mention quite a bit of gear. We have checked their prices against the competition online, and they are always competitive and often the best deal. We stop by nearly every weekend on our rides and everyone is friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. Ray Jr is a gem — he’s in the shop regularly, ready to help, educate, tell you about the local riding conditions, and to make you feel at home, even as a newbie. We are so glad to have walked in earlier this year, and now we can’t get enough. Great bike shop. Great service. Recommended for sure!

Ray’s is my go-​to bike shop in town. The knowledgeable staff is always attentive and happy to spend time with you answering any questions.
Prices are competitive and selection is large. As a well-​established shop they often have parts you won’t find anywhere else because they’ve accumulated them over the years.

I have been into Ray’s soooo many times over the last seven years and every single time the people have been top notch! I started coming here because my husband has been going to Ray’s for probably the last fifteen years or so.
My most memorable experience was when I ran over something that popped my tire when I was miles from home on a 100-​degree day. Fortunately I was close enough to Ray’s to walk it over, fully expecting to wait for however long it took for them to help me out, but the always-​friendly people put aside what they were doing and got me a new tube in there in ten minutes and I was on my way. Such nice people! And always great advice. Glad to always support this local business.

I bought a specialized bicycle a few years ago, turns out the bike has a defect in the frame. The frame has a lifetime warranty and I still have the original receipt. This store contacted the company and now Ray’s Cycle wants to charge me $ 350 in labor to fix something I never broke in the first place.

This place has helped me time and time again. We are a family of novice bike riders :) the staff is always outstanding with customer service from recommending the right bike for my 4 yr old son to helping us fix a flat and much more. They have also been our go to for service. Highly recommended.

I’ve always wanted a fancy bicycle that was fast and would last me a long time. I’m a beginner and don’t know a lot about bicycles. Before coming into the store, I thought I would be overwhelmed and look completely clueless. When I went inside, all those fears were completely gone!
The staff is very friendly and helpful. I was greeted immediately when I entered and was asked how they can help me. I explained that I was new to cycling and just wanted a casual bike that was fast. They showed me a number of bike and allowed me to test ride a bunch of them around the neighborhood. After the test ride, they followed up and asked how the bike felt, if there was any discomfort, and to see if I liked the bike at all. Being a newbie, they also explained how the bike works, how to maintain it, etc. I appreciated the time and effort from the staff and I learned a lot about cycling on my first visit.
I ended up getting a Trek 7.1 FX. I was very happy with the purchase and pleased with the excellent customer service. When I wanted to put the bike into my car to bring back home, they showed me the proper way of disassembling the front wheel and placing the bike inside. This was very useful and helpful.
I can’t find anything wrong about this place. Great customer service, large selection of bicycles, and you can test ride some cool bikes. If you have the slightest interest in cycling, check this place out!
