AAA West Vail Shell

I had my car towed by West Vail Shell by AAA service and they arrived in a timely manner and were incredibly nice and did their best to get my car (which was completely damaged in the front due to a collision) on the truck safely and efficiently. However — I was incredibly disappointed by the lack of communication. My car was taken on a Saturday night and was to be towed right away to an auto shop; come Monday morning, I called this auto shop to find out they did not have my car nor my keys on their lot! West Vail Shell did not inform me that they still had my car on one of their trucks for two days, nor did they call me first thing Monday morning to let me know an update on my vehicle. I was assured my car would be taken to the auto shop that Saturday evening, and the tower just decided to not make the trip nor to call me and give me an update. This resulted in fear that my car had been stolen or further damaged. To end on a positive note, the man who did tow my car was super nice and made a bad situation a bit more relieving, however I would appreciate more communication in regards to the location and status of my vehicle.

The towing guys are great… they were extremely helpful and efficient. The car repair side is NOT, whatsoever. Do NOT go here to get your car repaired unless you want to get ripped off. I made the mistake when I first moved here and will never go back.

I highly recommend West Vail Shell towing! We just had a tow, thanks to a belt issue in Minturn, and AAA sent these guys. they were there incredibly fast and were very accommodating, friendly and helpful! Thank you so much!

Tow guy is good… but the auto shop is trash… Told me my thermostat was broken… WRONG…told me I wouldn’t make it to Denver… WRONG…quoted me $ 600 to replace a thermostat… WRONG…car is fixed now it was merely my cap wasn’t holding pressure… cost me $ 77 instead of $ 600…As my mechanic called them in Denver, they are Hyenas.

If you need a car tow, car wash or gas (City Market/​King Soopers loyalty rewards works at the pump) West Vail Shell is the place ! Darin and Rick are long time locals of the Vail Valley and go out of their way to help you out with your automobile. I’m glad that they are always around and if I have a question that’s insurance or automotive related they give you their honest opinion. Thanks Darin and Rick for keeping it real and local!

I hit a deer and Darin was extremely helpful in working with us and AAA to get our car towed to our dealer in Fort Collins.

My car broke down in Beaver Creek and I called AAA to have it get towed back down into the Denver area. It took these guys 2 days to get over to my car and when they did get over to it they brought it to the wrong shop. Avoid this place at all costs and use another towing service. THey will also tell you to leave the keys in your car with the door unlocked so that they can get into it to tow. That being said, my car sat in the parking lot of a bar for 2 days unlocked with the keys in the door. Terrible customer service is the reason for 1 star.

My family had used the shell station for years through AAA for towing, tire changing, jumping our cars. They are wonderful. Always timely and pleasant to work with. Rick is great he showed me how to change my tire. The Shell station also uses City Market fuel points which is a nice savings. Give them a call and you won’t be disappointed.

Oh yeah, my car broke down in Vail and these guys were there really fast. My auto insurance emergency number routed me to them and although it was a snowy, slick day on the roads they somehow managed to move from a 45 minute estimated wait to 10 minutes! Not only did I get my car to the preferred down valley repair shop for a very reasonable surcharge (my insurance stipulated that I was only covered at 100% to the NEAREST repair shop) I even got a couple hours of skiing in before work. When my car broke down I figured I would be dealing with that for awhile. Mike was very courteous and efficient and I didn’t even have to accompany my car to its destination. They saved my day from being a time consuming headache and I went on like nothing ever happened. They literally SAVED THE DAY! Thanks!

As a gas station super nice guy, the service station was horrible, I filled my tire up with air and the air pump broke the stem on my tire making me get a flat, the shop mechanic told me I have to buy a stem for my tire for $ 80 – 100.00, I have a full size tire I wanted the sensor to be taken out and put in my tire so the tire detector in the car worked properly, he then told me it wouldn’t work all five tires needed to have that sensor to work, I left him my tire to just put a non sensor stem in, as driving away with my spare on with the sensor and jot having «five» tires on my car with sensors, drive less then 1 mile and tire pressure light in my car goes off, so therefore what he told me was a lie, so I call them to not do anything to my tire and they tell me it was already done, two minutes they managed to fix that, I was extremely frustrated and told him the information he told me was false and he should not tell customers that all 5 sensors need to be in tact, he charged me $ 25.00 for my tire and didn’t even help me carry or put on my car. Will never go back and will tell everyone I know not to.

Great place to get your car worked on. The Aussie guy at the counter always remembers me by name and I just moved to the Valley a short time ago. Had my car worked on and everything went fine and the price was pretty good even by Vail’s standard. The price of gas however is very expensive, however about the same price as the other gas stations around the Valley.
I will be returning to have my car worked on by these guys.
