La Quinta Inn & Suites Valdosta / Moody AFB

Nicely remodeled older hotel. Staff was very nice. And price couldn’t be beat. Pool looked really nice but we didn’t have time. We had four generations and everyone was happy. Only thing would be nice is better quality linens and towels. But again for the price they were fine. Staff was helpful.

We recently had to make trip to attend our grandson’s high school graduation. We didn’t want to drive all the way in one day and Valdosta was just about half way there. We picked this La Quinta because of its very close proximity to the interstate.
I had looked at the reviews on Unilocal and found that the more recent reviews were good ones. Both of our stays proved these reviews correct. From check in to check out, our experience was quite pleasant. The evening happy hour created a pleasant environment where the guests got together with each other for pleasant conversation with complete strangers. The staff were all pleasant and welcoming. The rooms were roomy and relaxing. The inn appears to be a bit older but it is clean and pleasant. And even the spa tub was working.
All in all, both stops were more pleasant than just the quick overnight stay we required.

My fiancée and I planned a weekend getaway for Valentines day. We decided to stay at La Quinta Inn and suites in Valdosta because we get a corporate discount at all La Quinta’s. The desk clerk, Darrell, was so far beyond rude that I felt physically threatened being there. He refused to give us a corporate discount, stating that it was his right not to give us a discount. So I called reservations while standing at the service desk and then as I was making a reservation Darrell stated I will not give you a discount even if you already paid for it in fact you can’t stay here. He repeatedly said «not here» when we told him that the company that my fiancé works for gets a discount at all La Quinta’s. He also quoted us a price of $ 150 and the website said $ 89. We went across the street to the Hilton Gardens and paid $ 110 that same night which was Valentines weekend. I did call the manager the following Monday and he told me that he wanted to send me a free night stay to make up for my experience. I told him that I wasn’t sure that I would feel comfortable staying there considering how threatened that I felt when I was there. He told me that Darryl was not going to be working there any longer, which was unprofessional for him to tell me that. That was the last I heard of him and I have yet, two weeks later, to receive anything in the mail from the general manager. I would be very aware walking in to that lobby if you plan on staying at this hotel.

But they do allow dogs and you can definitely tell.

February and the pool & hot tub unusable.
Luckily we only stopped briefly, on our way to Florida, to sleep.

Amazing stay! Traveling from Chicago to Florida and had the BEST night sleep. Very clean, friendly and a glorious free breakfast. Even the WiFi did not require a password. LOVE this place.

There was a prostitution and drug ring busted by the Valdosta police on Tuesday at 530 on 9÷29÷2015. I happened to be staying here while this happened. The management didn’t even notify any of the guests this happened. I would have liked to have known something about this happening, being that I was staying on wed as well.

Always a clean, reliable room and a friendly staff. Makes my weekends in Valdosta comfortable, starting with the hot breakfast Saturday morning.

This place was awesome. Two trash cans in the room allows for throwing stuff out in multiple rooms. They had a free drink/​snack reception in the evening. The breakfast was delicious as well. They had a very nice pool and spa area. Most importantly, the room was very clean with a comfy bed and nice television. Definitely stay here if you are in the area.

Bed bugs!!! The staff refused to come in my room to see them because I had my two dogs with me. Strange since this claims to be dog friendly?! The general manager denies the existence of said bed bugs. Of course! If you search the bed bug registry this property had a previous incident. They not only have the bed bugs, they deny it and treated my elderly mother and I with great disrespect and disregard for the physical handicaps we have. Be forewarned before staying at this establishment!

Horrible! Dog hair on table. Run down furniture. Feels, like I’m itching from fleas. There’s a pretty large dog barking on my floor.
I don’t feel comfortable sitting in this room let alone sleeping.
If there were another hotel with vacancy tonight I would leave here in a heartbeat.
I will address all my concerns in morning.
I wouldn’t suggest my worst enemy stay here.

Don’t listen to the bad reviews! This place is a great place to stay!!! Staff is amazing! Hotel was nice and clean and smelled great! Thanks housekeeping (Africo?)! Pet friendly also, can’t beat that! Only thing… need to vacuum under bed… dogs love sniffing under beds and can find old food or pills laying around:)! Great value!

Spending a wonderful night here. Bed is comfy and the place is so very clean. Wish my house was as clean. Staff was great on check in. Made sure we were happy. I used my AARP card for a discount. The lobby is so very pretty. Breakfast was about the norm for hotels now. But it was good. Our two little doggys enjoyed walking around the doggy area. I believed they smelled every inch. We will be staying here again on our next trip down

What a great hotel. This is exactly what we needed for a couple days off our tour. We were right next to the pool, a super cozy bed, and there was a microwave & fridge. The breakfast was very good as well (hot breakfast!). The highlight though, was the amazing service. I have never had so much CONSISTENT fantastic service, from the maintenance man that walked by when I was having trouble with my key, so went and got two new keys for me to the amazing front desk people and the manager who asked us about our stay: the service was brilliant. We were there for two days, and needed help with using the business center and a few other things. They never made us feel like a bother and helped us with a smile.

Note if you’re arriving via Garmin that it takes you to the local high school. Use the various billboards and signs to find the hotel.
When we arrived there were renovations being made to the lobby and other areas. The makeshift front desk was situated along the side of the hotel, in a hallway. The hotel is older, but updated. The room was nice & clean. But the bathroom was dated and worn.
Before checkout we checked-​out the free breakfast. The food quality was poor– frozen/​packaged mixed fruit, gritty scrambled eggs, stale pastries. Stick with the packaged cereal. The renovations were going on in the room next door so there was some noise.
I suggest calling ahead and see if the renovations are completed before booking. Also check out the reviews for other hotels that may be newer or cater to business travelers.

Could use a refresher, but looks like they are starting a renovation. Even at 1am the front desk was friendly. The price is reasonable, especially considering there’s no pet fee and all dogs are welcome. They could use an off-​leash dog run area, but that’s me being picky ;). Surprisingly the rooms had mini fridges and microwaves, which was a nice surprise and while we missed both of them, they have a cocktail reception from 6−8pm and breakfast in the morning, all included in the stay. Definitely a convenient hotel, especially if you’re traveling with pets!

Great hotel for this category. Clean and open. Rooms are well-​equipped and comfortable. No smoking but inside rooms have balcony. Breakfast is good – scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, and grits. Manager’s reception from 6p-​8p with liquor, beer and wine. Nice pool in courtyard.

We got this on Hotwire and were dreading it because of the pet friendly policy (sorry, bad allergies and experiences in the past.). Boy, were we surprised! Very clean rooms and public areas, although the no pets on the pool deck policy was not enforced. ALL staff was very friendly and helpful, even offering to help us with our luggage and providing a king sized bed when requested. Free cocktails and/​or ice cream, cookies and snacks from 6 – 8, a hot breakfast that included eggs, grits and sausage (!) and biscuits and gravy, muffins, donuts, fruit, juice and coffee and more kept us full all day! Pool was nice. Computers and wi-​fi great, except lobby printer was slow. Manager came by three times in two days while we were in the public areas to ask if our stay was pleasant! Noticed ants in the dining room and that was taken care of in 15 minutes, and then followed up to let us know it had been taken care of. Management and staff was the happiest and most caring I have ever experienced. We will be back!

This is now a La Quinta. As always, these hotels are pretty nice. They are not very expensive, you get free breakfast and WIFI. Nice staff too! The only down side is that there is no elevator, so be prepared to walk up the stairs if you are staying on the second floor.

This is exactly what an interstate hotel should be.
Affordable, clean, delicious breakfast, & pet friendly.
There is no pet fee, and no fee to use the laundry facilities. Even the detergent is free! Awesome breakfast that includes eggs. EGGS!
Also, they gave me a nice 35% military discount.

Pleasant enough room; clean and fast wi-​fi. Very lame customer service, however. I was booked here two nights on business but wished to leave after the first night due to an unexpectedly short second day of work in town. Considering my flight back to CA left from JAX at 7:40am the next morning (a two hour drive), I really wanted to leave but «the policy» says I’d have to pay for the second night no matter what. There were other vacancies in the motel (I asked) and it was broad daylight outside; no reason to insist that I pay for a second night but they steadfastly refused (and so did corporate when I called them — they said that if the front desk wasn’t willing, there was nothing they could do about it). That is plain ridiculous under the circumstances and, consequently, I will never stay at a La Quinta again — all because they couldn’t give up $ 70.
