Monica Mcpartland, Professional Bridal Consultant

Having been an event planner myself for years, I was AT FIRST impressed w/​Monica. Upon speaking to her on the phone, she got right down to business, communicated with everyone involved and was assuring that everything would go smoothly. A month before the wedding we heard a portion of our reception area had burned. With the help of my mother in law (a lawyer), she and Monica managed to get us compensated with chair covers, extra hr of open bar, etc. Seeing this I THOUGHT, «Okay she knows her stuff, I don’t have to worry».
Unfortunately, she made the most AMATEURE hour mistake the wk before the wedding. She forwarded an email response from me without READING IT!
Hello? Really?
Anyway the contents of the email didn’t say the nicest thing about the person she was asking about, who is a dear friend of ours. I assume she read my first sentence and thought FORWARD on. I of course got the phone call from the friend and was INCREDIBLY embarrassed and apologetic. I called Monica, but of course, no call back when normally she’d call right back. When I saw her at the rehearsal, did she mention it? Nope. Not a word. I guess she’d hoped our friend didn’t say anything. Yes, I should’ve fired her on the spot but a couple days before the wedding? I mean… how could I? I thought «its gotta get better than this».
Wrong again.
Day of rehearsal, we drag in a speaker and an ipod to make sure the songs we picked would give everyone enough time for the pro & recessional. Knowing this, WHY did she try and cut corners by having the wedding party walk a SHORTER version of what was really going to happen? Is this not a rehearsal? When we MADE her do it the right way, of course the f&^#ing songs were to short! So had it not been for our INSISTING to do it the right way, the music would’ve cut off too soon. IT didn’t matter anyway because the day of the wedding not only did she NOT check the volume on the speaker to make sure it could be heard from the back, but she also forgot to cue the music for the recessional. Trist and I walked out to total silence.
When we walked by her and said «where’s the music?», we got a blank stare. Nice Monica, we can never get that moment back. Did she apologize, sure she did, «I’m sorry about the music on the way I out, I don’t know how to use an ipod». WOW… so why wasn’t that mentioned as soon as I told her via email, over the phone & at the rehearsal that we were using an ipod? I’m sorry but when I did events I triple checked that I knew how to operate every switch, knob & electronic device days BEFORE. Missed that one too huh Monica?
THEN… the finger print tree… instead of a sign in book I wanted guests to put their fingerprint on a beautiful tree that I would later frame. I TOLD HER to please make sure everyone did it. After everyone left, I went to check the tree and it only had 30 fingerprints of the 120 guests! You might be saying how could ONE person cover all that? Yeah, your right, she had an assistant and still dropped the ball. More than one person told me that she kept saying how she had a wedding the next day and everyone in the wedding party said she was rude. Her job to make everyone feel at ease but the way she would talk to us throughout the night, just made me more nervous. When the time came for groom/​mother & father/​bride dance and Trist came up to dance with his mother, Monica put her hand in their face and said «Stop! Norma wants more time w/​her dad». First, I never said that and second, who does the talk to the hand gesture to the groom and mom?! Amateur hour! I guess whoever had their wedding on the June 12^th got the better version of her. I’m never recommending her to anyone. I recommend NOT hiring her, you might as well do it yourself.

I just had to write another review. I am soo pleased with how honest and professional Monica has been! Something beyond her control happened and she refunded me the money, no questions asked! She is a great person and I will recommend her!

Monica McPartland is an outstanding wedding coordinator. She blew us all away. My parents and I met with her several times before the big day and she was always ready to make things happen. Monica returns phone calls and emails almost immediately and is early to every meeting. Here professionalism is outstanding. My parents and I could not have asked for a more perfect person to handle our wedding! Monica pitched in a helped with all of the vendors, kept me and my husband calm. She did an excellent job keeping us all calm no matter what «issue» came up. Despite what was thrown at her, fire at the venue (a few weeks before our wedding), an injury during the wedding, DJ playing the wring song, Monica got on top of it and helped pull off my fairy tail wedding. Her assistant Chris was also wonderful. Both women had everything in place and were available for our every need. I can’t imagine doing a big event without Monica and her team. Everyone has raved about our wedding, and no one had any clue as to the few oops, Monica kept everything under control.

This woman is CRAZY! DO NOT Use her!!! She almost ruined my wedding!!! She is the most unprofessional wedding coordinator out there. There is something to be said for paying a bit more money for quality!!! She canceled on me 27 day before my wedding for questioning shipping charges and not replying to her 50 emails!!! And we were meeting that Monday to firm up all details!!! I hadnt spoken to her since October and it was February… she sends me emails over and over!!! Then procedes to get RUDE with me and tells me she cant handle me!!! I HADN’T SPOKEN TO HER!!! She is crazy!!! She harassed our vendors and they called me to ask who this woman was… all said it was for the better… they thought she was very unprofessional and didnt know what she was doing. They had to give her suggestions. She was supposed to be a day of wedding coordinator and do my candy table and we purchased bridesmaids and groomsmen gifts from her. She managed to screw up the initials on the Bridesmaids gifts as well. When I told her about this, she said she corrected this and a new one was shipped. When I got it, it was still the wrong initials. She was long gone and I had no gift for one of my bridesmaids. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!
As it turned out I got an AMAZING wedding coordinator who did the most beautiful candy table! And we had no issues and the most amazing day!!! My vendors loved her, I loved her, and we all thank god we didnt have to deal with this lunatic!!! She would have ruined our wedding!!! My parents are so happy as well! A HUGE tip was given to Shereen the new wedding coordinator, she saved us from MONICA MCPARTLAND!!!
