Pure Births

I am someone who definitely supports home and birth center birthing, but I was having my first child and had some fears (based off my mother’s birth experience) about what labor would be like for me and my body, so I planned on delivering in a hospital with the intention of choosing to home birth in my future should there be no complications. My goal was to have a natural and unmedicated birth, so I wanted a very experienced doula by my side. Tiffany was highly recommended to my fiancé by a friend and when we first spoke to her, we knew we had found someone special who was not only extremely knowledgeable being a midwife as well, but also passionate and caring about what she does.
The irony was that when my labor came it didn’t follow any standards and progressed so quickly that I found myself in a position of not being able to make it to the hospital at all! That’s when I knew that having Tiffany on our birth team was meant to be and the best decision we’d made! In that moment she became our midwife as we decided to have our baby at home! I just knew I was in good hands. She reminded me that I’d had a healthy pregnancy, with the baby ideally positioned and that being at home gave me freedom to labor any way I desired. She helped me to relax and focus on my strength as she assisted me into different positions I felt comfortable in. Her encouraging words and soothing voice brought me back to my center where I was completely empowered to triumph through each contraction. She closely monitored the health and safety of my baby through the whole process which put me a great ease. Her supportive words not only helped to carry me, but also my partner through as we achieved the natural and unmedicated birth we had hoped for. I experienced some tearing and Tiffany did a great job with the stitches and I healed very well. Placenta encapsulation was also important to me and she provided us with that along with a nice umbilical cord keepsake.
Tiffany made herself completely available (via email/​text/​calls) to answer questions and concerns from the day I met her. After the birth my fiancé and I even called her in the middle of the night with a concern about the baby. She answered and calmly talked us through it, letting us know everything would be okay. You can tell the suggestions and support Tiffany offers don’t just come from extensive knowledge in her field, but also from her heart and that’s something my fiancé and I really notice and value in her. Whenever we have concerns about mother/​baby issues we always find ourselves saying «Let’s ask Tiffany» before anything else. Also, the abundant pregnancy/​birth/​recovery resources she has available in reading and video material is impressive and was so helpful for us!
I can’t express enough how much Tiffany’s presence and skills at the birth of my baby boy meant to me. What she does as her service to women is truly her calling in life! I will most definitely opt to home birth in the future knowing there is wonderful support and community like the kind Tiffany and Pure Births provides that helps women successfully transcend their birthing journey.

Tiffany is the nicest and kindest woman I have ever met. I was terrified during the last trimester of my pregnancy. The experience with my first baby was just awful. I had so much anxiety and I was panicking about going through the same thing. The first time I spoke to her I already felt better. She told me that if I wanted to have a natural birth that I could do it. And that was something no one (friends and family) had ever said to me. During labor she helped me get through the difficult contractions… At one point when I was about 7 centimeters I was able to relax so much that I fell asleep!!! My husband and I are still amazed that that happened!!! There was a point when the baby was almost about to come when the contractions were so bad that I didn’t know what to do anymore. My hands were wailing in the air and I felt like I was just out of it, I really couldn’t take it anymore. She would grab my hand, and would tell me I could do it, reminded me to make a deep humming sound and that the baby was almost there. That’s not something my husband knew how to do, or the doctors or nurses cared about. I would just hear her voice and that would help me get through it. Because I knew she cared about me and she was going to help me get through it. I had the birth that I wanted because of her. She showed me that birth doesn’t have to be terrifying and also educated me about having a baby. Because when I had my first, I didn’t know anything, and I just let the doctors and nurses tell me what kind of birth I was going to have. This time around, I told them how I wanted to have the baby and she was there to make sure that everything happened as I wanted it to. I feel so grateful that she helped me. No one has ever helped me in that way before. She taught me a lot of things about having a natural birth. If there ever is a baby #3 in the future, she will be the only person that I will go to!!! I already told her she is going to be delivering my babies baby’s when that time comes haha: D

Oh, where do I begin to use words to describe the invaluable benefit that having a doula like Tiffany gives a birthing mother?! I was about 28 weeks into my 2^nd pregnancy and really started to think about how I wanted this labor to be different from my 1^st. My first was really rough. Thankfully, I ended up delivering vaginally, but it was a very rough road there. For me, the drugs stopped my labor and it was extremely difficult after that.
I started to second guess the «traditional» way to bringing my 2^nd baby into the world (i.e, drugs & laying on my back pushing). When I asked my OB/​GYN if I could labor and/​or push in any position I wanted, he said, «Well, you can labor in any position, but when you go to push, I need you laying down on your back so I can see.» I was like (in my head), «I’m sorry, what but what about what I need or want? It’s my delivery, not yours.» I hung up the phone and started researching doulas and midwifery options. I found Tiffany, and she came over to meet with myself and my husband, and upon that first meeting, I knew — she was the one who was going to make this 2^nd birth an amazing and beautiful experience. She is amazing, loving, caring, knowledgeable, calming, helpful, and funny! We have actually become close friends because of my experience! Every pregnant woman I know that I have a conversation with, I immediately refer Tiffany. I didn’t have a clue what I was missing with the first child, and after the 2^nd AND 3^rd, I’m so glad we had Tiffany. Not only was she a huge help to me — but also my husband. She guides the men through one of the most nerve-​wracking and scary experiences of their lives too! Men don’t say much, and when they do, it’s often something stupid… especially when we are giving birth… but Tiffany is right there to calm them down and give them the tools they need to be actually useful in the situation (haha). I couldn’t nor wouldn’t have done it without Tiffany.
If you are contemplating having a doula, or even justifying the cost — DO IT!!! It is the most valuable investment you will ever make in your parenting experience (besides the the diaper genie).
We need to get back to the days where women help women, naturally, and lovingly, in the most emotional and exhausting experience of our lives!

Tiffany and her team at Pure Births are all amazing. Tiffany served me through two births. My partner was a huge skeptic on natural birth and the importance of having a good birth team. After my most recent birth he has decided that Tiffany will be our midwife no matter where we live in the country. He fell in love with her talents, energy, and passion as did I. I will be thrilled for the day that I can call Tiffany to tell her to save the date for birth number three. I am so grateful to have found Tiffany and her wonderful team, and thanks to them I have had two very beautiful and empowering births. I recommend her and her team for any family looking to take advantage of her services.

Hiring Tiffany was the best decision my husband and I ever made!!! She gave us the resources which helped us make informed decisions about birthing, she listened to us as we expressed our wishes, fears and excitement, and she nurtured and supported us through the entire birth process. With her gentle spirit and kind heart, she gave us the confidence we needed as new parents.

I just had my first child and we chose Tiffany as our doula and could not be more satisfied with that decision!!! She is a birthing angel. We took birthing classes and had three meetings with Tiffany and I felt really prepared for the whole experience, but on the day, I swear I can’t imagine not having her there. She came to our house for two meetings and went to one of our Dr. appts to meet our OB so we could all be on the same page. She was so knowledgable and calming and just a complete god send to us through the whole experience.
She’s also a lactation consultant! So she can be a postpartum doula and/​or lactation consultant as well.
We decided to have her do our placenta encapsulation as well. We weren’t sure the effectiveness of that, but I have had little to no postpartum symptoms and I attribute that to the capsules. So worth it.
And she is available by phone/​txt all the time, PLUS she’s a mom as well so she understands everything that new or repeat moms could go through. She’s pretty amazing all around and I would recommend Tiffany to any and every soon to be mom!

We decided to hire Tiffany as our doula for the birth of our second daughter. My first birthing experience was not what I had wanted and since I was planning an all natural hospital birth, we decided we needed a doula. Tiffany came highly recommended from a friend, so we decided to meet with her. We knew pretty much right away that we wanted her to be our doula.
She was very professional and friendly. She met with us a couple times before the birth to discuss our birth plan and answer our questions. The day labor started, Tiffany and I were in constant contact (She was always reachable on her cell phone) and as the contractions got closer she came to our house. She was a huge support to both my husband and I. She used massage, aromatherapy, and showed me various positions to help with labor. She really put my husband at ease by showing him how to be helpful. She talked me through my contractions, reminding me to breathe & relax. When we got to the hospital, she worked with my nurse and advocated for me and my desire for an unmedicated child birth. With her help, I was able to deliver a 9 and a half pound baby without drugs!
I honestly don’t think I could have achieved my natural childbirth without her. She was worth every penny! We will definitely be hiring her again next time!

My husband and I hired Tiffany as our doula in preparation for the birth of our daughter Nelah. Tiffany was very helpful at helping me understand what the whole process was going to be like and gave me lots of tips to be prepared. Anytime I called her with a question she was always available and as a first time mom sometimes nerves get the best of you but Tiffany knows how to make you feel at ease. When the BIG day came I was in labor for 3 days but Tiffany came to my house, helped me relax and we did different techinques to help the baby come. Once I was on my way to the hospital I called her and she was there immediatly. It gave my husband a break to be able to sleep (he liked that). I really do not know what I would have done without her. I was in so much pain but she REALLY did help me relax and cope with the pain with no drugs. After so many hours, I was exhausted and opted for the drugs, which was not my original plan but Tiffany made me feel at ease with my decision. She was so helpful in the delivery room and I felt so comfortable with her. I cant wait to do it again and have Tiffany with my next birth! Thank you Tiff, until next time!
