Great hospital. Was called into the er in 30 minutes. The doctors took me seriously and I was admitted. Great nurses and staff! Would recommend anyone to this hospital!

I come to the dental clinic here because not only are they top notch, the are also half to ¼ of the price any dentist will charge you. I had a tooth pulled for $ 50 and now I’m getting 2 implants that will cost $ 600 each. Most implants will run you anywhere from 3k-​5k with most private practice dentist. Which is nuts! I highly recommend the dental clinic here! Everyone is very nice, they do great work and you cannot beat the price. Oh yeah, they also take most dental insurance.

Someone very close to me died at this hospital. Their security people were incredibly cold and uncaring during that miserable ordeal.

Being in hospital as a patient or care giver is no fun. I practically lived here for a week with my mom, as her caregiver. The nurses we’re very accommodating and they brought an extensible chair, so I can stretch during night time. The hospital is very clean and I felt my mom, was taken care of with compassion and professionalism.

This post pertains to the ENT clinic. It appears if you come here often (for yourself or while on your job with clients) you will be treated with fast courteous service, if not, then get comfortable in the WAITING ROOM because you will be seen when others are finished.

Hard working staff, that does not waste time. Probably because they don’t have time to waste.

I wish Unilocal allows zero star since they are not even deserve one star. How can I trust a hospital if they lie from the start? They lied about their relationship with my insurance company to seduce me to come to their hospital. They then denied what they told me and through me a big check. Please do yourself a favor find an honest one instead.

I have visited their ER and I must say the wait got longer and longer. The first time was speedy while the last visit ran 12 hours. If you are not on top of the nurses and doctors they will leave you in the room sulking. Don’t be afraid to ask for certain things and demand for service. I would rate it a 5 based on my first visit but the last two visits knocked down a star each. Let’s see if for future visits they are nicer and more servicier.

Westchester medical center located in Valhalla is up there with Hackensack medical center as the 2 most convenient, cleanest medical facilities I have ever visited. All of the doctors bedside manners are excellent and the food at WMC is excellent as far as hospitals go. I had surgery here and it felt more like a hotel than being at a hospital.\

Well I have to say waiting in the er for hours is not cool, but at the same time they took very good care of my son. He was here for a month in a half and he had excellent care, I myself will be getting surgery soon here. The way they took care of my son makes me comfortable to have my procedure done here, and I have two other hospital near me Hudson Valley Hospital and Putnam Hospital I choose Westchester Medical Center Hands down. also Hudson Valley sent my son away and Westchester Medical Center admitted him so what’s that saying for you

This is a review for the trauma ICU only. I had a family member admitted here and while he was in bad shape, he was mostly admitted because he was high risk being an elderly person with many broken bones and more. No he wasn’t dying but he was in great pain. I feel like this is one of those hospitals that is great if you’ve got extreme injuries but if you’re anything less than that, you can expect your care to plummet. This might be acceptable at a basic ER where you normally wouldn’t get crazy cases and pain is tolerable in most cases but it’s a horrible experience when you would be considered at the top of triage at a normal ER (if not already beyond their capabilities) but at the bottom of the trauma ICU. I’m not talking about a few broken bones here. I’m talking about multiple fractures, lung and brain trauma complicated by existing medical conditions. Guess what? You’re probably going to be at the bottom of their priority and when the staff is overworked and the attending doctors are barely around at their posted hours, mistakes happen… all the time. My family has seen it and it’s horrifying to watch. It’s been a sloppy mess and their bedside manners are hot and cold right down to the individual. I get it. It’s the trauma ICU but careful care is just as important as quick care. And some of the emergencies for my family member that I’ve seen could have been caught before it got critical if they were just watching carefully. At one point I felt like they were causing some of the issues because they hadn’t watched carefully. A very reactive hospital which like I said is great for extreme trauma. I’d avoid this hospital unless it’s absolutely necessary.

when you first walk into the children’s wing there are two huge water tanks filled with beautiful fish, the building was fairly clean considering its a hospital. Had a difficult time finding the place from Westchester Community College, but all the employees (doctors/​nurses/​secretaries) past the information center were nice and helpful.
The play rooms for the kids in the children ward was a pleasant surprise, between the computers and x box stations I was glad they had that available for the kids. I was disappointed at the poor condition of the furniture in the room, there was only one (very uncomfortable) seat and a broken couch. Overall, I was impressed with the way the nurses aids and administrators communicated and educated the children on their upcoming procedure. The way you approach a child with such awful news can have a major impact on they perceive and interpret the event, which is why I appreciated the time they spend and their approach to really go over the procedure with the patient.

The Maria Ferreri Children’s Hospital creates a warm and welcoming — very «un-​hospital» like — environment.
Our friend’s son has been in ICU here for nine days, and if he has to be somewhere, he is in good hands here.

I can’t say I’m a fan of the hospital itself, but I hear it’s pretty good as it has a trauma center. I was supposed to get back surgery and instead decided on Montefiore in the Bronx (still not sure if I made the right decision, but whatever, that’s a whole other story).
The hospital is walking distance from a jail which gave me the creeps every time I had to go to clinical. Something about barbed wires and law offenders didn’t scream «Safety», but nothing ever happened.
After doing my Psych clinical I personally can say that some of the staff members in the Behavioral Unit were as sweet as they come, while others couldn’t care less about the patients. Personally I wouldn’t send any family member there… maybe my worst enemy… maybe, but certainly not anyone I care for. The Psychiatrist was sooo cold towards the admitted patients and I felt like he never took the time to properly assess them, but hey what do I know, I’m not a doctor.
I guess it’s a hit or miss depending on what you’re going for.
Personally I would go somewhere far away from a jail… but that’s just me.

We had to stop by WMC when our kid was a bit sick last week. I’m glad to report that the staff there was amazing. The quality of service was very good and they took us in right away without even a minutes wait.
One minor downside is that it took hours to get out of there even with very few patients. But on the other hand, they did give our girl a very thorough check up. Very pleased with this hospital.

Unfortunately I’ve spent a lot of time at this hospital. The trauma icy is state of the art with a world class staff. Everyone is extremely knowledgeable and professional. However once you get downgraded to the med surf floor, it’s like going from the penthouse to the ghetto. Unlike the ICU, these wards are staffed with some temp agency nurses some of whom could care less about you.
The children’s hospital, the labor and delivery and the cancer centers are top notch facilities. I have had more than 12 surgeries here and I would stay here because of my surgeon. But remember this is a teaching hospital.
I can’t give them five stars until the crappy med surg floor is fixed, staff décor and all.

Labor and Delivery — Amazing facility. The labor suite was beautiful and comfortable. I felt like I was at a hotel or something. Except for one doctor, one anesthesiologist and one nurse, the staff was extremely friendly and let me know everything they were doing every step of the way. Great communication skills.
Maternity Ward — Not Fun At All! Being sent here from L&D was like being put in a step up from a prison cell. I didn’t get any sleep in my room because it was shared with a night owl and screaming baby (not mine luckily) AND the heat was unbearable. The whole time I kept saying «i wont be here forever I wont be here forever». And during the day I was visited multiple times by many nurses and psychiatrists and social workers and just so many people coming and going. So any sleep I missed out on at night I had to miss out on during the day as well. And they wonder why people get PPD.
Anyhow I’m sure that with upgrades to the living facility of the Mat Ward that the stay will be much more tolerable for those in the future. Would I recommend this hospital to others, sure… just be wary of the Mat Ward.

Was here for one of many Dr appointments. On this day it was open. I had the chicken fingers and french fries and a fountain drink. It was about $ 8.00. I thought it was reasonably price. The staff of two was very kind. I will probably eat here again in two weeks for my next appoinment.

The only other place I had experienced ER such as this one was in a third world country.
