This park is tucked away behind the Mast General Store. Turn right before the candy barrel onto a gravel road, follow past the corn fields and be prepared to be amazed! The park is HUGE. It is in a valley, so it is surrounded by mountains. There is a covered picnic shelter which can be reserved. They have live music here on Friday nights in the summer. There are several soccer fields, a path around the park, several playgrounds and swings, a fire pit, a pond to fish in, and the Watauga River runs in the rear of the park. We play in this river for hours! Building dams, skipping rocks, finding frogs and salamanders. There are several little paths down to the river. This park also has restrooms. They are more than adequate for a park facility. Bring sanitizer. Bring your bikes, your basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, fishing poles, river shoes, and a picnic– you can truly spend a day here. – Lots of dogs on leashes–
