A $ 30 dollar coupon brought the bill to $ 68 dollars. Never again im going to this place.

I had the worst experience there. Waited over a half an hr. For someone to help. Owner was extremely rude& I was charged $ 240.00 for a welding job. Went to ABC mufflers in Benicia & was charged $ 106.00 for same job. The Better Business Bureau is gonna hear about this business.

Honest & friendly. Smog test took only less than ten minutes. I was lucky. Next in line when I got there.

Complete rip-​off. The shop next door charges $ 29.75 for smog check. I though that was the parking lot I drove into. I was charged $ 88 for a smog check. Never again!

California Smog was highly referred by my trusted friends at Revolution Auto. I called on a Saturday to book a last minute smog for the following day. I was happy to hear they were open 7 days a week. I came about 8:10 am and the tech was late however Victoria did a very good job being apologetic and keeping us company. She even gave me a Starbucks coffee in an attempt to further apologize for the delay. When Gerrard arrived he was very apologetic and moved with a sense of urgency. This shop was very nice, clean and these two were pleasant and fun/​funny. They seemed genuine in their apology and I was happy I waited. They gave me a worthwhile discount and I went about my smog passing day.

My dad warned me this place would rip me off, and I should have listened. I also should have read Reyes H. and Ofhelia F.‘s experience here on Unilocal,since the same thing happened to us.
I called ahead this morning to ask if our car qualified for the $ 39.99 Unilocal offer, and the man who helped me said yes, plus $ 8 for the certificate.
When my husband went in an hour later to get the service, the lady at the register didn’t claim to know anything about the Unilocal offer, but offered him $ 30 off the service. The regular price was $ 80, so he was charged $ 50 plus $ 8 for the certificate.
Go to Vallejo Smog Test Only just down the road a bit, where the service (and Unilocal rating) is so much better and you don’t get misled by their advertising tactics.
5÷17÷13 update: I also had informed Unilocal about the Unilocal offer they do not honor, and since then it looks like offer was finally taken down.

Open on a Sunday, so that was good. I wanted to go to vallejo smog center (it was closed), but this place was around the corner. I was in and out in 15 minutes. I cant rate them higher just because needing to get a smog in the first place is such a hassle.

I agree with the rest of the reviews, it is by far the quickest service I have ever had for smog check. I came in the other day and never expected I could get a really fast service. Jo, the girl at the front desk was super nice and welcoming. She greeted me, did some paperwork and only waited for about 10 – 15 mins and there were a few other people in there getting their smog checked. And Eric, one of their technician is really fast and efficient. I was surely impressed with how quick the check was done. Comfy couches and just quiet space to just relax for a brief moment. Definitely recommend this place for future smog checks. Overall California Smog was very friendly, efficient and their price was at a reasonable amount.

I got my car done here last week, and I was surprised by how fast it was! i’m new to this town and it might be the best deal i’ve ever had. The girl was efficient, and I think the technician is kind of cute. I will definitely come back again! :)

I received this business’ coupon via a ValPak mailer. I called to inquire the cost for the smog test, as the coupon only listed a dollar amount discount. The woman who answered the phone said it would cost, «$ 40.00 out the door, for the test, certificate, taxes, everything all together, and I didn’t need an appointment.» The quoted price was the cheapest of all the smog testing facilities I called, by about $ 7.00. So I decided to give California Smog Test Only a try.
Never again. When I arrived, I provided the coupon, along with informing the woman who took my keys and apparently checked me in to the process that the phone quote was $ 40.00 total. She said there would be a wait because there was one other person in front of me. I took a seat inside and waited about 50 minutes until my car was done. That was a pretty long wait compared to other places.
The worst part was when I got the bill, she said the totat was $ 58.00. When I said I was quoted on the phone $ 40.00, she asked who said this. I said I didn’t get a name. I just assumed the price would be the price. She said, «oh, well, that’s $ 58.00.» I informed her I would post this on Unilocal.She didn’t seem to care.
All I can say is I have no idea what they charge now. The rates weren’t posted. There were State complaint forms available in the waiting room. I assume they must be used enough to keep them on hand. I will never go back.
You have to pay a bill to get your car back, especially in the case of smog tests when the information has already been transmitted to the State. This will not be the only place I complain. I will file a complaint with the Consumer Affairs Board.
I hope someone reads this before having the same thing happen to them. My only advice for a customer would be to get the final rate on paper with a signature before giving the woman your keys.

Arrived at 219pm for smog check. Their hours on Unilocal states they are open but they had a paper sign saying «be back later» with no indication of time. Have taken my cars here before and never encountered this.
Finally another waiting customer called the business and a young lady wearing SWEATPANTS unlocks the door and opens the garage. I told her I wanted a pretest and a smog check and she asked me if I have been here before and how much I paid (???). I told her it’s been a few years so she quoted me $ 49 ea and that price includes the certificate. I wonder what price she would have quoted me had I been a new customer. I informed her that my SUV is on continuous 4WD Auto so that it doesn’t get placed on the rollers. She was not friendly and very abrupt with her answers.. The guy who normally helped me doesn’t seem to be working today. Too bad since I only return to businesses if I receive great service. Doubt I will be coming here again.
I was charged $ 58 which was $ 49.99 + $ 8.25 the certificate. I told her she initially quoted me $ 49.99 which includes the cert and she insisted she is giving me a «special». I proceeded to tell her that I found a coupon on Unilocal for $ 39.99 incl certificate and if she could honor that. She said «I don’t know anything about Unilocal and did not even know we had that» and walked away! So basically I just paid the $ 58 because I was so frustrated with her lack of professionalism and just wanted to leave.
Pros: Air Conditioned room perfect for the 77 degree weather we have today. TV, numerous reading materials, leather seats and water available. Major plus: Free Wi-​Fi. The person who ran the test said the my car passed and therefore didn’t charge me for pretest. Comfortable but the bad service negates the whole experience which is unfortunate for the business owner. You just lost a customer.

Fast service. I went here for my car and I had my engine light on, but I thought it was a fuse. He told me to come back, I did and paid $ 40 out the door :0) happy customer!

They do fine with doing the smog check. But one guy was on his phone the whole time he did a smog test. I failed once because I guess my «check engine light went on in the beginning so he did the test anyway.» So I had to come back and pay again. They will try to take your money if they can!

Quick and friendly service. Great Price. Right across the street from DMV. Can’t really ask for more from a smog shop.

Quick! I waited about 15 min. and also got a good deal, w/​this place the only one that picked up the phone on Labor Day. They sent my passed smog test to the DMV too.
