At Vallejo Chiropractic, we specialize in Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique. The Activator is a low-​force method that is very precise and utilizes a small instrument instead of using manual, high-​force, traditional methods.

John H.

Business Owner

Dr. John Harrington is an Activator-​Certified Chiropractor with 23 years of experience. A graduate of LifeWest Chiropractic College in Hayward, John has enjoyed many accolades including «Best Chiropractor» for two years running from the Vallejo Times Herald.

Born in «Butte, Montana, John is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was stationed at Mare Island Naval shipyard of the USS Seawolf Submarine.

One of the founders of Vallejo’s Rubber Ducky Derby, John is a past President of the Vallejo Rotary Club and member of the Vallejo Chamber of Commerce.

In 2012, Dr. James Kunsman joined our practice.

In 2013, Dr. Kunsman opened a second location in American Canyon. Dr. Kunsman maintains office hours at both locations while Dr. Harrington maintains hours at the Vallejo location only.

I’m brand new to getting chiropractic treatment and had seen someone else prior to Vallejo Chiropractic. The chiropractor there was sketch, had an awkward personality, and tried to get me to commit to some $ 600 package prior to having had any adjustments to begin with. Sure mate, let me just get that cash out of my bum for ya.
I went here afterwards and my experience was exponentially better. Their prices are competitive compared to other places I looked at. Even the receptionist I spoke to on the phone was very nice and informative. She made the effort to look up my insurance information, even though I was pretty sure my insurance doesn’t cover it. I was interested in their first time client special that consisted of two sessions. However, she even told me to hold off the thought until I actually come in as I may only need one adjustment, so it may end up being excessive to pay for two.
I saw Dr. Kunsman and he’s a G. He was very personable, asked about my studies, my dog, and didn’t try to pull any upsell; told me to see how I felt after the adjustments first. He was also mindful of my student status through our casual conversations and gave me information on their special low-​cost clinic times, where they offer $ 15 adjustments, which is MUCH appreciated.
After my first adjustment I noticed results where I woke up feeling better. I knew my sleeps were deeper since I was dreaming way more. My second visit also consisted of a short targeted massage that felt really nice and I’ll have to look into booking a full massage appointment sometime. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this chiropractic practice. Three locations, three chiropractors, and they’re still super busy!

The last five months of my life have been miserable. I somehow created the perfect storm… A car accident, bad posture, stress, sleeping on an air mattress for too long, not a lot of exercise and leaning over to study for days at a time. I ended up in the ER twice in the past few months. I’ve had horrible digestive issues, muscles spasms, sciatic nerve pain, headaches, esophageal spasms, acid reflux, heart palpitations, floating rib pain… the list goes on. I’m only 27 and am not overweight. I’ve been here twice and have noticed such a huge improvement! I am so thankful I found this place. I highly recommend it.

Wow! I have never been to a chiropractor before and I had no idea what to expect, but I am sure glad that I decided to go to Vallejo Chiropractic.
I had injured my low back 2 and a half weeks prior to going. It was the stupidest little thing that I never thought possible that caused my injury, but my condition was very serious. I could hardly walk, get dressed, or get in or out of bed.
Dr. Kunsman and Dr. Harrington both worked on me. I was very impressed with how knowledgeable they were in their field as well as how much concern they had for my situation. Within a couple of visits I was well on my way to recovery. I am very grateful for their help. I’m really impressed with their work. I would highly recommend them to anyone. I feel like they gave me my life back.

SPEECHLESS! (in an awesome way) I threw out my lower back 2 days ago and was in really bad pain. I have a big run coming up this weekend and was afraid I wouldn’t be able to participate. I tried rolling, stretches, ice and nothing. I have never seen a chiropractor, primarily because I thought any injury/​pain can work itself out and it would cost a lot of money. Let me tell you, its WORTH EVERY PENNY, and it didn’t even cost a lot, very affordable rates.
I called in and was able to come in same day. Within 15 mins, Dr. James worked out the kinks in my lower back, and it was painless! He told me to go for a walk and it was like nothing ever happened to my back.
I am VERY SATISFIED with this practice. The staff was very welcoming and they make you feel right at home. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND anyone looking for a chiropractor to come here.

This place is bomb! I love Vallejo Chiropractic. I had a car accident back in January and when it came to seeking treatment for my injury, I wasn’t quite sure where to turn. This office is literally down the street from me so it’s super convenient for me considering that I am the queen of tardiness. I love how they are open at very convenient times as well because I have a very crazy schedule and they can always fit me in nicely. Both Dr. John and Dr. James know and understand my busy lifestyle which is what I value because they can work with me well during my recovery. The staff is very nice and two of the receptionists know me by first name which is always a plus. I’m very glad I came here and I highly recommend it!

I never understood the value of chiropractors & never thought to make an appointment to see one even though I have suffered from back pain for 4 years. My Father hurt his back, went to Vallejo Chiropractic & his back pain was eliminated. That was the referral I needed & I made an appointment! Dr. James, Dr. Harrington & Sue on Tuesdays = miracle! My back pain is gone and every minor pain or tightness I have from sitting in front of a computer for work is getting better & better each and every visit! I have found my new self care addiction! I was apprehensive on my first visit a couple of years ago. Dr. Harrington put those worries to rest with attentive care and great skill. He is qualified both with hand manipulations and the activator tool, which is my preference. Awesome massage staff, my favorites are Shannon and Tracy. I believe the session model used in this office is unique, where massage therapist pinpoints areas and the chiropractor comes in, working with the massage therapist on the exact issues. My time in this office has been incredibly beneficial to my health and I am grateful for their expertise! I look forward to every visit.
There are also low cost clinic hours on Wednesdays and Saturdays if you need treatment and funds are low.

Having suffered from back pain for years it was a treat to be invited in by Dr. Kunsman to get examined.
I took advantage and after a thorough examination and explanation of possible causes, options, I received my first treatment today.
The ankle adjustment alone is something I wish that the last few chiropractors had even considered an option as I have been walking on a cloud all day since.
His spring loaded actuator device is damn useful and really loosened up my back
I look forward to my next treatment to see if I can correct some issues that have been caused by a lifetime of harsh living.
I was pleased to see a New Patient package for 95.00 that got me two treatments and a 30 minute massage… Well worth it.
Also am considering taking advantage of his year’s worth of unlimited treatment for 1000 bux… an amazing deal, but let’s see how my back reacts before I jump in with both feet.

I’ve been two previous chiropractors in vallejo since I was 15 years old and both of them seemed to be after one thing… money! When I would see Dr. Harrington he didn’t seem pushy and he actually cared about his patients, and made it your choice to continue his services. Dr. Harrington in general is a good person who likes to interact with his people rather than just check them in adjust them. The staff is ok, the head office manager is semi-​cute but needs to lower her voice on the phone but is very helpful. All in all, good staff good people and he doesn’t force his services on you he really wants his patients to get better!

I went to Dr Harrington Tues. I could barely walk in but walked out like new. I threw my back out and was in tears the night before. With him and his two massage specialist working on me my pain was gone. They were really in tune to my body and how to correct it. I am fortunate to live in the same city he practice in but if you are in the near vicinity it is worth the drive. Thanks dr Harrington, Shanon, and the other massage spec (sorry I forgot her name). You are the best.

I was a Wholeistic patient… That is to say, I had a WHOLE LIST of problems when I first went to see Dr. Harrington. Now, a year or so later I am SO much stronger and a large part of that is the care Dr. Harrington put into me. He enabled my back, knee, foot, ankle, rib issues to heal by putting them back into place. He is a fantastic guy with a wonderful staff. You’re doing yourself a disservice by seeing anyone else. I would recommend Vallejo Chiropractic any day of the week.
