History

Established in 2004.

Retro Systems was founded in 2004 by Paul Riemann and a partner in Valley Center, KS.

The original intent of the business was to purchase and retrofit used CNC cutting machines, hence the name Retro Systems.

It was not long before they began seeing an increasing demand for new CNC cutting machines. By the end of 2004, Retro Systems had released their first model of cnc plasma and oxy-​fuel cutting machine. This original machine was painted purple and named the Hornet after the local high school mascot, the Valley Center Hornets.

In 2007, Riemann and his family bought out his original partner. Under Riemann’s guidance the company grew from around ten employees to over forty and the product line grew to include models for waterjet cutting, pipe cutting and more.
