Addendum to my earlier review, we had a settling issue in our home and that resulted in our remodeled kitchen ceiling experiencing some cracks in the plaster… Mick came out and had his guys replaster and paint to make it all just as new as the day he finished the project… This was work he did one year after he finished the remodel… This guy really services what he sells! I defy anyone to find another contractor who would be this gracious!

Mickey, the owner of Karma was referred to me by my friend who always uses his services to remodel his various properties. I am glad that Mickey was very professional & he explained every detail of the job. I will always use his services only for all my properties.

Mickey has done a whole lot of work on our 1940’s era Sherman Oaks home, beginning with a «down to the studs» major renovation. He was able to complete the job very quickly which minimized the amount of time we had to be out of the house. It is pleasure working with him, he’s great about making good suggestions and being flexible about changes. He also has a high standard and spotted things we would have not even seen and had them corrected. He was very accessible and available to us throughout the process and we trust him completely and feel very comfortable communicating with him. After all the time we spent with him he has become like family to us!

My husband and I bought our very first home in July 2014. A family friend connected us with a contractor he knew — Mickey from Karma Builders. We met with him several times at the home to go over the extensive work we knew we needed to have done. Within two weeks of closing, Mickey and his team had moved in and immediately started working. I knew immediately that everything was going to run smoothly.
I was SO nervous about the construction but there was absolutely no reason to be with Mickey on the job — I have never met anyone so honest, so talented, so knowledgeable, and so friendly. He was available every day, even on weekends, to answer my many phone calls and emails and meet me at the house to go over things as they came up.
He felt comfortable telling me when I needed to spend a little extra to get the look I wanted, but I never felt cheated by him — many times, he told me how I could get something for less money, even if it meant he wouldn’t get the business.
He finished our house the week he said he would — on time! And truthfully, our home is beautiful. He supervised everything — we painted the inside and outside of our entire house, changed the floors, ripped out the entire kitchen and master bathroom and redid them entirely, remodeled the staircase, changed windows and added new doors, added recessed lighting, the list goes on and on. We have plans to remodel our remaining bathrooms in the next few months and I will of course be hiring him for the job!
In short — I HIGHLY recommend hiring Mickey. A more honest, trustworthy, kind person does not exist!

We were looking for a contractor to remodel our retail space and wanted to make sure we hire someone that has experience with commercial work. We found Karma Builders through Unilocal and met with Mickey the owner. He came out and gave us great suggestions and ideas and was very knowledgeable in regards to commercial work and city regulations. We ended up hiring him since we had the best communication and really liked his ideas.
After the work has been completed I can only say good things about the experience. The work came out better than expected and all of Mickey’s suggestions were spot on. The workers were personable, professional and detail oriented. We came in at the quoted budget and the quality was very high. We love our space !! I would recommend Karma Builders in a heartbeat and am very pleased with the outcome and the process getting there !

I’ve had two offices and my home remodeled by Mickey’s crew. They are excellent! He had a team of woodworkers create a custom reception desk for a fraction of the cost of what it would have cost me to buy it made, and it actually looked better than the picture I showed him. His painters are great with the details and are very clean. The most important thing for me is that his people are timely, responsible, and he makes sure that they are thorough and that you are completely satisfied with the finished product. And, I agree with the other Unilocalers that seeing Charlie (his dog) on site is an added bonus!

I really appreciate an honest businessman, which is why I’m writing this review.
He offered to do the job I needed, but indicated that the various jobs I needed done would be much cheaper with a handyman. He was also very polite and informative — great customer service!

Mickey and Karma Builders did an excellent job of remodeling a house we purchased so that we could move into it. The budget was very reasonable in comparison to the other quotes we received and the timeline to completion was almost half. While final details did talk a little longer than we originally estimated, we were able to move in as planned on time! We fully redid a kitchen and two bathrooms and took down some walls all with permits. We also refinished the hardwood floors throughout and everything came out beautifully! Mickey always answers the phone or gets right back to you (so rare these days) and his team and sub-​contractors were also fantastic. I also want to mention that my husband is very picky about details that might not matter to someone else and Mickey had the patience and attention to detail to even exceed his discerning expectations. Since the home project, we also had Mickey help with damage caused by an overflowed tub in our rental property. Now having used Karma Builders on multiple projects, I can highly recommend them without reservation.

My wife and I bought a condo recently and needed a general contractor for all the repairs and renovations.
I was nervous at first hearing stories about other contractors, but because I work in the flooring industry I heard some good stuff about Micky (the owner) and his guys.
Bottom line, I was really happy with the job they performed and I will definitely use them in the future again.

We hired Karma Builders to do work in our retail store. Mickey’s guys were professional and very attentive.
The estimate was very detailed and so was thr quality of their worksmanship.
The project came out as planned and on quoted budget, and we can only say good things about the experience.
