Barry’s My Carpet Inc. is a family owned and operated establishment. Barry Silverstein has over 38 years experience in the flooring industry. Barry started his flooring career while working in the field installing, cleaning and repairing all kinds of flooring prior to opening his own store in 1982. Barry and his family have enjoyed serving their clients and he treats everyone as if they were his own family.

We visited Barry’s based on the other Unilocal reviews and we were not disappointed. Barry and his wife are both truly lovely and very professional. Barry is very friendly and joked around quite a bit which was refreshing as other stores we visited barely spared time to give us basic details.
We were looking for carpet for our basement and Barry gave us his honest opinion on what to go with. He even advised us on how to remove our existing tile floor and lent us a tool to aid in the removal. We were able to book our job within a few days and the installation went smoothly and took only a few hours.
We would definitely recommend Barry to anyone and would use him again for any future jobs we may have.

great family run business. huge selection of carpet in house. they were able to install my carpet for the attic and basement the next day. it came out beautiful! this is a family owned business, and the owners are extremely communicative. love them! they are also going to be creating a custom runner for us and doing our hardwood floors. i highly highly recommend them.

I worked for Barry over 20 years ago. This guy has been hooking people up all over New york for a long freakin time. He taught me a trade and how to be an honest business man. He always took care of his customers and delivered what he promised. At the time i worked there I had know way of knowing what a great guy he was or how good My Carpet really was. I did not have alot of other experience. Fast forward 23 years later. I own 2 businesses and reflect back on my time at My Carpet often. Unilocalers, if you need flooring in your house take the time to go to My Carpet in Valley Stream and meet Barry. You will not be disappointed. Besides getting a great deal you will meet a truly honest and funny dude who will hook you up.
