Specialties

Authentic homemade Italian ices, made with hand-​squeezed fruit, available in 46 flavors. We specialize in water ices, using real fruit in our fruit flavors and real nuts in our nut-​based flavors. We also have sugar free options, including Cherry, Chocolate, Lemon, and Orange, and all of our flavors are dairy free. Stop in for a quick snack or some dessert, or grab a little treat for the kids!

We have one important rule: No Mixing Flavors! — a tradition since 1944, in honor of «the King», Peter Benferemo.

History

Established in 2015.

The Lemon Ice King of Corona has been recognized as the standard for Italian ices. The Benfaremo family has been making Italian ices for over 70 years. Started by his father Nicola, Peter Benfaremo, «the King», made Italian ices into an art form.

Squeezing cases of lemons and oranges by hand to get the true taste in his production, all our flavors have real fruit pieces in them from blueberry to watermelon.

All of our ices are brought in fresh everyday from the Lemon Ice King of Corona!

I’ve been here with my clients several times this year. I believe we were the first «unofficial» costumes in April. This place has most of the flavored from Corona. As a matter of fact, I ran into one of the guys from Corona here. So, what is so special about this place? Yeah, the ices are the best straight from 108th Street… but the staff is top notch. Ran into Mike this evening. Not even 20 years old and knows how to «do the right thing». His parents raised him well and the owners should be proud to have him working there.

Great spot to go for ices… Flavors are so yummy… My fave is banana and strawberry and I can see the real fruit in it… My daughters love it too… Personel there are very attentive and helpful. We go there almost every nite. Keep up the good work

This Italian ice place is really great. There are a lot of options so it was great one of the girls working let us try samples of some of them and I opted for the Fruit Cocktail and my boyfriend got the Lemon, both in medium. It’s not really expensive but you can’t mix flavors that’s a huge rule ! I’d definitely come back again.

So glad Lemon Ice King came to Rocaway Avenue. Price is right and ices are delicious. We have been coming four nights a week since it opened. My children love the flavor and I like the sugar free options… wouldn’t mind seeing a few more sugar free options, however. Great place to get a refreshing ice on a hot summer night!

My original review was removed. The cups here leak. You can Only take medium or large to go so you are forced to spend more money. You cannot mix flavors. This place charges more than other popular ices places around. I tried the mango which did not even taste like mango to me. And, as you can see by the comment, the ownership is rude. I don’t see this place lasting.

I was so happy to hear that this place opened because taking a trip to Corona can be a hike. I got the pistachio ice, which is my usual when I would go to the original in Corona, and it was exactly the same and tasted just as great! This is certainly better than Ralph’s and it is worth taking the drive to come here. Thanks for opening this place!

You just got to try the lemon.
Pizza shop, I thought when I first saw construction work in progress at this space a few weeks ago. Then the sign said ice and I thought nice because «aye it’s summer wha can I say» (said in my best Sicilian accent.
I love ice cubes and I’m a huge fan of snow cone but have never had one of these. I was like a child in a candy… never mind.
They allow you to sample as many flavours as you like. I was sold on the lemon after the first yummy taste I had of it.
The shop is new, (all brand spanking new I can vouch for that) and very clean. The two young ladies on duty were friendly, smart and upbeat. The casting director did well as they fitted the atmosphere of the shop to a tea… or ice.
Yes I’ll be back and knowing me, a lot of times AFTER I’ve had a walk/​workout. …to lose weight. Hahahaha.

This is an easy 5 star review! Thank you for coming to Valley Stream! The ices here are definitely better than any ralphs that I have been to.
I had the coconut ice, which was absolutely perfect. My wife had the Oreo ice, which was perfect also. I noticed that another Unilocaler said that the Oreo ice had no flavor, but that is simply not true.

I grew up hearing about the legendary ices in Corona, Queens and so, I was excited to hear about their new Long Island location. I really didn’t know what to expect when I walked in and was greeted by cheerful workers who encouraged me to try some flavors. I ended up getting root beer which was extremely distinct, flavorful and delicious. Other members of my party ordered sugar free orange, pistachio, blueberry and oreo; there wasn’t a single complaint or frown on anyone’s face. I have a new favorite ices place and will gladly come back!

A lemon ice king in valley stream? Awesome right?
I’m actually not that impressed.
My childhood memory of the lemon ice king of Corona was basically that the lemon ice is the best.
And that’s true… the lemon ice is great! Better then Ralphs.
Here is my opinion of some of lemon ice kings flavors.
Oreo…bland, no taste at all. What is this crap?
HOW DO U MESS UP OREO?
Cherry vanilla: very good liked it a lot
Orange vanilla: just ok… was hoping for a creamsicle taste
Chocolate: not bad… not very chocolaty. .which you kinda want in a chocolate flavor.
A friend had the pistachio and said it was very good.
I will try some other flavors and see if they are any good… Otherwise I’ll get my non-​lemon ices from Ralphs
The place itself is very clean and the staff is friendly and seem to know what they are doing.

I’ve been eating water ice my whole life. Many outside of my hometown make the cut… This place is an exception. The young staff was friendly & the samples of the flavors were very much appreciated. I’ll be back to enjoy some more throughout the summer.

A refreshing breath of fresh air in Valley Stream.
The shop was clean, bright, and vibrant, and most importantly, they sell the Italian ices of the famous Lemon Ice King of Corona, located in Queens. I had the Lemon Ice and it was truly great. Flavorful and a good mix of sweet and tart. Much better than the Lemon Ice from Ralph’s, which I find to be a bit watered down. My girlfriend had the mint chocolate chip ice and she said the mint wasn’t overpowering at all and had a good mix of chocolate chips in it. There are over 45 flavors, so I can’t wait to go back and try another.
