I LOVE this place. My boyfriend and I come here almost every Sunday for brunch and mimosa’s(seriously try the country fried steak and eggs). The service is always super friendly and they seat us right away. The pie’s are also amazing. We’ll buy whole ones to bring to dinners and everyone loves them. Definitely check this place out!

I’m regrettably updating my email taking away two stars because of my experience tonight. I’ve been coming to this place for a long time and tonight my salad had a napkin in it… it was wet, so at first I thought it was almost translucent wilted lettuce, but when I picked into it and pulled it out I opened it up to see it was a straight up napkin on the bottom of my salad. The owner came out(only at my request) and told me it was just an innocent mistake… the cook took a small plate covered with the napkin, that they usually use to put a soup bowl on top, and put my salad on that plate instead. While shocking, and kind of gross as it was happening, it was a forgivable mistake. But I had to tell the waiter to have the owner come out and explain to me what just happened… he didn’t come out and apologize for it on his own… and they still charged me full price for the meal even though I was disgusted with the plate and sent it back. I would have expected the owner to be REALLY embarrassed and automatically taken some money off the bill, especially for a recognizable long time customer(he knows I’m a regular). Really disappointed that the owner showed no initiative or class to make me feel better about the situation, and I didn’t feel like asking him to do so because I just wanted to pay and leave, and would think that he would know better. Whatever. I still like this place, but don’t feel so good about the ownership now so can’t whole heartedly recommend it like I used to.

We ate here this am and the thing I like about his place the most is that if your in a hurry this is the place to go. The food comes up so fast and they have a huge light menu. French toast is awesome! My BF swears by the cinnamon butter. Talks about it all the time I went with the frittata adding turkey bacon cheese and spinach and they put a lot I mean a lot of those toppings in it!

An old school diner with kitschy 70’s décor on busy Laurel Canyon, across the street from Gelson’s. There is another location in Van Nuys. They are well known for their pies! Banana Fudge is really terrific as is their fresh strawberry in late spring and summer. Dutch Apple is very good too. I haven’t tried their coconut cream nor their chocolate cream– but these are also cult favorites. The other fruit pies are: No added Apple, Cherry, Strawberry-Rhubarb, Boysenberry and Blueberry for $ 4.75. Their Cream Pies include: Banana Cream, Chocolate Cream, Coconut Cream at $ 4.75 a slice. Other pies are called«Specialty Pies»: Banana Fudge and Pecan at $ 4.95 each, Custard and Lemon Meringue or brownies at $ 4.50 each, Carrot Cake, Cheesecake or Chocolate Cake at $ 5.75 each, Pumpkin at $ 4.50 a slice, and Fresh Strawberry or Peach(in season) at $ 5.75. The tortilla soup is another stand out. I’ve enjoyed their burgers and salmon. They have breakfast and Sunday brunch and lots of vegetarian options for your healthier friends. I love their late night hours, open until midnight on Fridays & Saturdays, until 11:30 on Mon-Thurs., and even until 11pm on Sundays! A nice, comfy local hangout.

Have been eating here for 35 years and am never disappointed in my service or my food. Of course, they know me by now and my drink is at my table sometimes by the time hellos have been exchanged with management. The food always hits the spot! The specials are delicious! Love the fried chicken! My kids love the spaghetti! Love my breakfasts and omelette me and my buddy loves the power scramble with salsa. Tortilla soup is famous as is cornbreads and pies. Love my wait staff and the kitchen cranks. Very fond of the spinach salad, though bummed they don’t do half order on fries and onion rings! Hope my kids continue the tradition!

We come here for breakfast just about every weekend. Well enough that our favorite server knows our order and our alternative order… I hate sausage but crave the breakfast sausage from here… I would come here over Dennys or Ihop any day.

Great local spot in the NoHo area. They have a nice menu of dinner style food. On the weekends they have a brunch menu that is fun for groups. I’ve met up with friends here for years as well as had encounters with some of my favorite actors and musicians. But the real reason to go here is the friendly staff and those amazing pies. Trust me, save room for pie. The Banana Fudge Pie will change your life.

Old school place with decent food. I love diners but they need a fresh coat of paint and some new tables. This place went past old school a smidge too far

I have ate and ordered take out from this restaurant about five times. Usually I have had dinner and it is always mediocre. However, two of my favorite things are their cornbread with cinnamon butter and their chocolate cake. Both items are something that make you want to frequent this restaurant. This morning I had breakfast it was good. I would come back but the only thing I don’t like about the restaurant is it décor. I really feel like they should consider remodeling the entire place. The way it looks makes you not even want to eat there. Especially when the area has so many other great breakfast spots with amazing food and the décor to match. Would I recommend this place for a quick snack or breakfast? Yes Would I recommend this place if you are trying to impress your date? NO

This is a great place to stop by for lunch. They have great sandwiches and I love their soup. If you’re more in the mood for something light, they have a great selection of salads, including fresh fruit. Breakfast is also pretty darn good. They have a breakfast burrito that’s not on the menu, but it’s delicious. Really great staff also.

Four n 20 is one of my favorite places to eat in North Hollywood. It has a good vibe coupled with great service. I’d recommend the Four n 20 Morning or the Lumberjack! P. s. You can park in the«Local 705» parking spots on Saturday’s and Sunday’s in the back. Enjoy!

Came here only for the Banana and Fudge cream pie which a friend recommended. I can speak very highly of said pie, as well as the service I received(though I did go at a late hour, so I don’t know how good this place is busy). One downside is parking in their lot is extremely limited, so keep that in mind.

I was looking for a little diner close to my office and I think I found the place. It’s small and cozy. The staff is real nice and friendly and very attentive. They have like a separate section in the back which is pretty cool if u wanna be away from the crowd. I chose to sit in the back. They have a pretty large menu and some good healthy meal choices as well. I’m not a coffee person but there coffee is pretty darn good. I tried the Veggie Scramble and it was okay. Home Fries were a bit dry and spicy. I had a side of Cornbread and it was a bit sweet for me. The only thing I really didn’t like was that it smells like cigarettes in the back room area. The employee’s do go back there and take there break and there’s a door that goes out to the parking lot. So when there smoking that smell lingers in :(Other than that I really liked the place and will be back.

The best food ever. As soon as the doors opened the diner was already filled with regulars. I have eaten here twice and have not had anything I didn’t like. Delicious.

I was craving some diner food, particularly a club sandwich, and Four N 20 was a huge let down. Apart from the lemonade, Four N 20 was very subpar. I got the club sandwich, which was supposed to be the most popular item on the sandwich menu. It’s probably the most ordered because club sandwiches in general, but this was one of the worst club sandwiches I’ve had. I was so hungry but I only could stomach two of the four slices. It tasted like I was mainly eating bread and lettuce. The bread was cold and chewy, and the sandwich was dry. The fries were even worse. The texture felt like I was eating air. And the flavor didn’t even taste like they were fries. The prices were also high, I paid about 12 dollars for the club and another 2 something for the lemonade. I wanted to eat it all or take it home to get my money’s worth, but it was not worth it in the end, and turned down a box when the server offered. I’d say save your money for another place if you’re looking for diner food… or just a decent meal.

Love this place. The food is great, the people are really nice, use fresh ingredients in their food. Take care for me. If you go during the week, ask for James. Hes good peeps. If you go on Saturday ask for Mary. She’s awesome! All of the waiters and waitresses are great, but Mary is the fav! Great food, good people. Great place!

I was pretty excited about going to a traditional diner with a good overall Unilocal rating. I’m tired of going to your over-priced sub par diners such as Du-par’s, Patys, Bob’s Big Boy, or Good Neighbor and fancy joint such as Hugo’s with healthy items like kale and quinoa scramble to me just does not feel like a diner. I’ve been searching hard to find a mom and pop joint with knock your socks off kind of comfort food and thought this could be it. I hope the stellar rating wasn’t just on the pies, because I have to admit that I didn’t try any pies so I could be wrong. As far as the food, my egg scramble were soggy/watery and over-cooked(not sure how that could be achieved). It was also as bland as you can get. Now I’m not much of a chef, but I do expect my eggs at a diner to be way better than my home cooking. Perhaps I tried the wrong items, but one would think it’s not asking too much to expect a diner to have excellent egg dishes.
