Major Home Appliance Service

Very poor service. Fidelity sent them out on 12/​10/​2015, it is now 1÷26÷2016 and the repair guy went out with part that took over 30 days to get. The «repair guy» went in, could not fix it and left the home without providing any rhyme or reason of why the oven could not be repaired. When you call the office, it is obvious that it’s a family owned business and that csr reps could care less of the the clients. One reps response was, well the tenants are only available in the mornings so it makes it hard for us… umm yeah, so I guess it takes almost 60 days to accommodate an am appointment! I would steer away from this company, I’m actually surprised Fidelity uses them.

Similar experience to others who have rated. Was provided a dispatch to this company from Fidelity. They did not bother to call me to setup an appointment. I called and was put on hold for 10 minutes. Called back and got a recording, so I left a voice mail and no follow-​up call. Ridiculous customer service.

Fireable behavior in any workplace… we confirmed an appointment two weeks in advance because they requested for us to defrost the fridge completely. Imagine, your fridge, defrosted for two days, no source of water or ice. Having to get rid of all your food. And then they not only not call, they offer to schedule for next available appointment, in 4 days.

The worst. They will lie to you about the status of your repair. And Flora is the rudest, most condescending and dismissive person I’ve ever had the displeasure of doing business with. If you give them a dime of your hard earned money, you will regret it. Take your business elsewhere.
The long-​story-​short is this: it took 7 WEEKS for them to replace a simple circuit board in my refrigerator — a repair they promised would take only 7 – 10 days. Flora would tell me the circuit board was coming, and then admit it was lost, and then find it, and then say it was fixed, and it wasn’t, and then it was being shipped to me, and it wasn’t, and then finally it would arrive and the installer was actually super nice and quick — but Major Home Appliance is really a major home nightmare you should avoid.

My warranty company sent Major Home Appliance Service out to my place for a consultation on my fridge. The repair man looked around my fridge for maybe 7 mins and then told me to turn it off for 48 hours, then turn it on and call back if it wasn’t fixed. (That piece of genius advice cost me $ 65.) It worked for a few days, then back to broken. I called Major Home Appliance Service back and they said they would order the required pieces. Once the pieces were in, they would schedule the repair man to come back to my house. After one week and no call, I called them back. They told me they didn’t have any record of my first call so they never order the pieces. This went on again for another week. Mind you, each time I called it sounded as though the call-​center was being run through someone’s living room and the music, children, tv and pure chaos were all in full-​force in the background. The final time I called, they said the repair man’s first available appt. to come back to my place was in 4 weeks. Needless to say, I would never refer this company for repairs.

They were sent out by our home warranty company and were absolutely great. Oscar was not only diligent in investigating the problems but also offered us great advice on maintaining the appliances in good condition. Very polite and very helpful. Loved their service, highly recommend.

The repairman was fast, courteous, offered recommendations, and skilled. they replaced the handle on a microwave oven that had broken off. I would call them again.

We have a Lynx BBQ grill that needed to be cleaned. I called Lynx to ask if they clean grills and they said no, but had several companies they can recommend. One of the companies they recommended was Major Home Appliance. I called them, Gino the technician came out, and did an amazing job. That was 2 years ago. I called them again a few weeks ago delighted to hear that Gino was still with the company. Gino came out (he remembered my grill), and did another awesome job. I’m delighted that my 5 year old BBQ looks like new.
Flora is also a breeze to work with. She’s thorough, explains the work involved, gives an estimate on the service and schedules the appointment. Everything she explained was spot on.
Going forward, I will exclusively use Major Home Appliance to work on my BBQ.

My home warranty scheduled this company when my dishwasher broke down. Geno, the technician, was extremely knowledgable regarding my dishwasher, Fisher Paykel. He is one of the few repairmen that I have come across that know what is going on with this brand. There were several parts that needed to be replaced and he was able to properly diagnose the problem. Customer service set up a prompt, quick appointment to troubleshoot the issue and identify the parts to get them ordered.

Same as others have reported — problems scheduling (I had to call THEM multiple times), showed up to do warranty repair on my washing machine, then left saying they had to get authorization (instead of getting it on the phone right then). Then the home warranty company spent 5 days waiting to get their report, which was never sent. I finally had to reschedule with someone else (Sears, who was awesome) to start the process over. In short, they cost me an additional 9 days without a washer for a family of four. If your home warranty company suggests them, just say no — you don’t have that kind of time. Trust me.

Geno was amazingly helpful and knowledgeable when he came to fix my Lynx grill. Immediately he told me what the problem was and knew what needed to happen to fix it. In talking with him more throughout the visit he also gave his professional (and very experienced) opinion about what brands of appliances to get in my kitchen that I want replaced!
I have an extremely hard time believing the negative reviews considering I’ve talked to someone at Major Home Appliance every day for the past couple weeks and EVERY person has been polite and friendly. And I HIGHLY doubt someone as nice and professional as Geno would ever send nasty messages, sounds like a load of crap to this girl! Go with these guys they know their stuff!

We had a difficult problem with a Broan vent hood in our kitchen. The first repair company came out with a completely incompetent technician who took the hood apart and then dropped the large stainless steel cover onto our cooktop. We fired them and called Major Home Appliance Service. Major Home’s technician Edouard knew exactly what he was doing and correctly diagnosed the problem. He was friendly and very experienced.
The unit now works perfectly. I recommend this firm.

I’ve read the other reviews and have a really hard time believing the bad ones… really. Especially about GENO … [spelled correctly] … I met Geno twice, and he really took great care of me. Not to mention he seemed like a super nice person. Very professional, very knowledgeable, and very courteous.
Originally, my Alfresco, outdoor fridge stopped working, got HOT, and there was a funky smell. Alfresco recommended Major Home Appliance Service. The repair guy, GENO, showed up, and upon initial inspection, said the FAN had seized up, and the compressor «might» be damaged also. I paid $ 3500 for this fridge 5 years ago, so I knew this was gonna be a costly repair. So, I ordered the replacement parts direct from Alfresco to save some money, and GENO came back today to do the install.
Once GENO opened the panel to expose the old fan, he saw a dead mouse stuck in the old fan. Removed the mouse, and everything works just fine now. Kind of funny.
I was NOT charged a single penny for the visit. NO CHARGE, even though he spent about 30 minutes accessing the equipment, and doing the labor, etc. Very cool.
Also, I wanna say that FLORA, who handles their phone calls, and does the scheduling, etc., in their office is also very nice, and did a great job.
So, «yes» I would ABSOLUTELY recommend these guys, and use them again whenever the need arises.

Very positive experience! Gino came to fix our dishwasher and oven. Dishwasher he fixed on the spot and then took time to show me how to use the different options and what he recommended to be the best option.
He then looked at the oven and needed to order parts, telling me that it would take about ten days. I asked him to rush it as i really wanted a working oven for xmas. So within just a few days, he called back and came today, xmas eve, and fixed my oven! I was so pleased. He is a pleasure to deal with and I highly recommend him!

Update: After reading my Unilocal review, Gino decided to catch up with me via text message. His first one, «Maybe I should come visit you?» seemed friendly enough; maybe this guy is turning over a new leaf in the customer service department. But his next one recontextualized the situation entirely. He follows up with, «Cock sucking cunt.»
That is just so low, Gino. Not only did you fail to repair my fridge, you failed to repair our relationship with rude remarks like that. Uncalled for! It made me totally reconsider inviting him over for that visit he mentioned.

One of the BEST experiences I have EVER HAD;yes it took awhile for them to
get to my ‘repair’ but since it is the holidays and since mine was NOT an
emergency…and the technician they did send, was not only VERY knowledgeable
but just so easy on the eyes (as they say). I only wish i could have him return
to help me ‘snap in’ all the parts of the fridge he showed me could be pulled
out (and cleaned). A heartfelt thank you (and to my warranty company as well, Fidelity, which has, after a certain amount of ‘pressure’ sent only the best companies!

I have had only a positive experience here. Our Samsung refrigerator ice/​water dispenser broke.
I called, they came when promised, diagnosed the problem, and ordered the part. It did take a long time to get (2+ weeks), but was probably not their problem. Then they came back, having meanwhile figured out how to properly disassemble the door, replaced the part and all is well.
Next time something breaks, I will probably call them first.

I have had them work on multiple properties over the years. They are fair and reliable.
I have been working with them for years and have not been disappointed.
