I am so thankful to have found Dr. James Grosleib and his team. I am very sensitive, anxious and have a completely pathetic pain tolerance for a grown woman and they always make me feel so comfortable and at ease. He explains everything he’s doing throughly and just has you raise your left hand if there’s every anything wrong (if there’s stuff in your mouth– obviously if there’s not just say something, don’t be a weirdo.) I have gotten general cleanings, cavity fillings, and most recently a whitening job and I am very satisfied with all of them. The ladies at the front desk are also so awesome and friendly– I could talk to them for hours. For the first time in my life I don’t roll my eyes and drag my feet when it’s time to go to the dentist. Thank you Dr. Grosleib and team!

James Grosleib is the most thorough, patient, experienced and honest dentist I’ve come across in a very long time. Since my orthodontics as a child until now I’ve been to a myriad of dentists, and James is the best. I was in excruciating pain and I didn’t know which tooth was causing the pain, and my former dentist told me I grind my teeth at night so that’s causing the pain. Talk about ignorant James let me know pain associated with overnight teeth grinding wouldn’t last throughout the day nor would it cause the intense pain I had. James figured out which tooth was causing the pain, turns out tooth is dead and needed a root canal, not from grinding teeth. I of course switched dentist and now James is my dentist, I’ve gone back for teeth cleaning and x-​rays, James has now found an old root canal done improperly and told me I need to get fixed or the excruciating pain will come back in another tooth. I couldn’t be more pleased and his wife Michelle is lovely and on my 1st visit she tried to help me with mitigating my pain Advil, the staff is amazing and supportive too. At 1st I thought reviews were too good to be true but James is the real deal, run don’t walk!!!

I got a wisdom tooth removed yesterday by Dr. Grosleib. I barely felt a thing. And then today I still don;t really feel much pain. I was really worried a couple days ago, but they took care of everything. He is a rockstar! Best dentist in the valley! I have been going here for a few years and the cleanings, fillings, and atmosphere have always been excellent. Great place.

I just moved to California about a year ago, and have avoided finding a dentist until now. I had a cracked filling that needed immediate attention, and luckily they were able to squeeze me in that day, even though they are pretty booked up for the next month or two. Now I understand why — this husband and wife power dentist duo are BY FAR the best dentists I have ever been to! I’ve had three appointments now with them to get X-​rays, fillings, and a root canal (which I was obviously terrified of, never having had one before, but it went so smooth I could have taken a nap right there in the chair!)
These two are extremely thorough, kind, gentle, and are honest and straight up about everything. During fillings and root canals they are very attentive to how you’re doing along the way. And all of the staff are wonderful — I had a lot of questions about my insurance and was probably annoying asking so much, but they were very patient and broke down everything and explained it all so well, and have been able to work with what I’ve got.
Never going to another dentist ever again!

Valley Village Dental is hands down the best in town! After years of horrific dental experience with numerous dentists, I can finally say that Dr. Michelle Grosleib and Dr. James Grosleib are the best! They are extremely professional, honest, knowledgeable, detail oriented and caring! Their schedule is always full but they still do everything possible to fit you in and accommodate all of your needs. They spend soo much time during each visit explaining in detail exactly what needs to be done. At Valley Village Dental you are treated like a family member and NOT like just another number. Highly recommend, would never go anywhere else! Thank you for everything that you have done for me!

Best dentist clinic I’ve ever been to. Very helpful and friendly staff. The dentists are highly professional. They walk you through the entire procedure. They make sure there are no surprises and they take their time to prepare you mentally and put you at ease. The office is spotless clean. To sum it all up, they really care about their patients!

I have avoided the dentist for a very long time because I have had bad experiences. I recently had a toothache which forced me to make an appointment. I couldn’t be happier with my choice of dentist, this husband and wife duo is incredible! I saw Dr. Michelle Grosleib who talked me through everything to make sure I was feeling okay the whole time. She was extremely caring and gentle. When it turned out that I needed a root canal, Dr. James Grosleib did an amazing job. I was really nervous and he put me at ease making sure I was absolutely comfortable before he started the procedure.
It was also important to me that the office was VERY clean with up-​to-​date equipment. Also, their staff is very friendly. Hands down the best dental office!

Genuine. Honest. Caring. Drs. Michelle & James Grosleib are truly the best dentists I have encountered in the 20+ years of living in Los Angeles. They and their team are extremely patient with all of my weird quirks and idiosyncrasies. Everyone, in my opinion, has gone out of their way to accommodate me in any way that I need. All procedures are explained simply and clearly and I have never once felt like I was under pressure from any staff member for any reason. The office is totally relaxed, the staff are all very friendly and it is easy to see that they not only take joy in their work but in their patients as well. Michelle, James and the complete staff make going to the dentist the easiest part of my day.

Let’s be honest. When someone talks about visiting the dentist, you can’t help but cringe. I decided to stop seeing my previous dentist because I couldn’t bare another day of being stuck for more than an hour with his disgruntled demeanor. As a patient, you want a dentist who educates you rather than reprimands you for what you don’t do. For this reason and many others, I became fearful of finding a new dentist.
Fast forward to a year and a half later and overdue for a cleaning, I stumbled upon Valley Village Dental via an Internet search. I was shocked to see not only the numerous Unilocal reviews but most, if not all, were rated 5 stars. I thought to myself it’s not possible that a dentist has this many excellent reviews. It must be some kind of marketing scheme. I convinced myself to make an appointment as a new patient.
When Dr. Michelle Grosleib introduced herself, I felt like I had known her over a lifetime. She was personable, informed me of everything that she was doing before starting and was very receptive to listening to how I felt about certain procedures. She encourages open communication and understands that earning a patient’s trust does build over time. Now, this is how each patient should feel about their dentist. Her entire staff is also awesome which is an added plus.
The reviews are all true guys! If you are apprehensive about seeing the dentist and do everything in your power to avoid a visit like I did, you won’t be disappointed with Valley Village Dental.

It’s hard to be excited to go to the dentist, but Dr. Michelle Grosleib kinda makes it that way. The office is clean, professional and caring. The Grosleib’s run an office that really has a family feel. If only they took kid patients too!
You can tell that she has a teacher’s mind — she passionately explains everything as she examines it in a way that I really understand. This office really put me at ease and makes me feel like a human, rather than just a patient.
I really appreciate the financial transparency here. Anytime I’ve had work done, I’ve been shown a statement ahead of time listing how urgently the work needs to be done, how much my insurance will cover, and how much I’ll be responsible for. I’ve never experienced this and it takes so much stress and uncertainty out of the process.
One tip: If you are a new patient, it might take awhile to get in for your first routine appointment. It’s a very popular office, for good reason. I’d recommend asking to get on the list to be called if there’s a cancellation.

What a great family practice! Have fear of dentists? FEAR NO MORE! Both Dr. James Grosleib and Dr. Michelle Grosleib have warm, caring attitudes, patience and a gentle touch that will make even the most squeamish and fearful patient relaxed and comfortable.
I myself have been their patient! My brother have been their patient! My parents have been their patients! They treat our family as if we are their family, for which we are very thankful! With Drs. Michelle and James Grosleib you are in good hands! Literally!

Dr. Michelle Groslieb is absolutely out of this world amazing. I pride myself on doing a ton of research before selecting a potential Doctor– my health is the most important thing to me. On her resume alone, Dr. Groslieb is hands down the best in the near LA area (I checked out about ~50 dentists). She went to arguably the #1 dental school (depending on who’s rankings you follow), graduated top of her class and is considered one of the top dentists by the Consumer’s Research Council (and the list goes on).
But I think what really sets her over the top is:
1) Her great balance between being absolutely honest and upfront (mandatory to me when talking about health), and also having an amazing and genuine bedside manner– she is never is a bad mood.
2) Her careful planning for overall dental health and insane attention to detail
3) Top of the line equipment and infrastructure
4) Great pride in her work and love for the job
The only thing I would say, is that I wish there was more parking :)
So happy I selected the best dentist!

I can’t recommend Valley Village Dental highly enough. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. We found them a few years ago when they handled a dental emergency for our daughter. Since then they’ve been taking care of our entire family. For the first time in my life, I feel like I have a dentist that is «my dentist». I’ve seen lots of dentists in my life, but this is the first time where I feel committed and connected to a dental office.
They book up far in advance, but they are worth the wait. And if you’re in pain, they will move mountains to get you in asap and get you out of pain. Dr. Grosleib always explains what she’s going to do and really cares about educating her patients.
My husband has had dental work done by both doctors (they are a husband and wife team) and my husband says both dentists are excellent.
The dentists are very concerned about making dentistry as painless as possible, so if you are sensitive to Novocain (like I am) and don’t need much to be numbed, just make sure to tell the doctor so she can give you less than usual.
The dental assistants are very nice and helpful.
They also have a very friendly lady in the front named Sofia. She is kind and polite and provides great service on setting appointments and coordinating schedules.
They are super organized about their schedule and although they have tons of patients coming through day in and day out, you don’t have to wait when you arrive for your appointment. In all the times that we have gone to their office over the last several years — my husband, our daughter, and myself — I have only had to wait one time for about 10 minutes. And Sofia apologized a few times that I had to wait at all. Usually, they take you right back. No waiting. That is amazing in the medical world — doctors who can accurately predict their schedules.
