So my problem was, or is, or was, I liked the food but they didn’t put everything in the bag. Which I discovered when I got home. I called the store, no answer. I called the national hotline and filed a report, no response. So I went back to the store and I talked to the assistant manager, Mary. She was awesome. She was professional and her goal was win my back as a customer and she did. Because of Mary my family and I are regulars at her store and have visited another store. Thanks solely to her, when the store GM and the national people failed, Steak n’Shake has one more customer. Yes, the service isn’t the quickest. If you want fast, go to burger king. This food is cooked to order and worth the wait. The $ 4 deals are good. Be specific when ordering. I recommend Steak n’ Shake, I love their food.

Worst steak and shake I’ve ever been to. All workers are playing and talking and not paying attention to customers. Took long to be seated and checked out. They’ll look at you and notice your there but ignore you. Waitress would just throw things on table. So many things wrong. Won’t be back.

I absolutely love going here. Their prices are phenomenal and the food is delicious. My children love the fact they get a paper chef hat and car to make which adds to the 50s diner feel. The milkshakes are great especially the oreo. The sliders, I suggest the garlic or Chipotle season. The fries are nice and crispy. Yummy!!!

Long wait to order food and wrong food came out. Waitress took sandwich back to kitchen and was back in less than two minutes with same sandwich all ripped up. Not what was ordered and not fit to eat. Manager no help. Claims he asked waitress if I wanted a new sandwich or not. Bogus! No one asked and terrible way to run a business. Won’t be back!

The food is extremely greasy and the wait time is unacceptable. The place is presented as dirty and not sanitary. The kitchen looks unkempt and it’s mostly youth that work at this location. Not worth the time. Cheap value for cheap food.

Being one of the closest restaurants to my house as well as one of the best value-for-dollar options anywhere, the Valrico S&S is my go-to spot for meals when I don’t feel like cooking for myself. I usually stop in several times per week and am on a first-name basis with the majority of the wait staff. If you aren’t familiar with S&S, it’s themed as a modern take on the classic 50’s diner: red, white, and black are the predominant colors and the staff wear bow ties and aprons. It wouldn’t seem out of place to see a jukebox in the corner or the Fonz sitting in one of the booths. Prices are on par with your typical fast food chain, but the food and service are both much better than you’ll receive from the golden arches or the red-haired girl. In response to another Unilocaler’s review from a few weeks ago: this particular location had recently undergone a higher-than-normal turnover in its staff, with the normal turbulance such an event creates, but has since settled back in to it’s normal rhythm. As has been pointed out by other reviewers, S&S offers dozens of styles of burgers, as well as sliders, chicken sandwiches, salads and chili. What many people overlook, however, are their awesome breakfast offerings. S&S has some of the best pancakes of any restaurant I frequent. They are made-from-scratch, not frozen and re-heated as at certain other locations, and have a delightful texture and delicious vanilla flavor. Best of all, you can order all-you-can-eat pancakes for $ 3.99! If you prefer, you can also order chocolate chip or blueberry ‘cakes. Beyond the pancakes, they also offer breakfast skillets in a variety of styles; breakfast sandwiches on your choice of biscuit, bagel, or pancakes; and breakfast tacos. Or you can go with the classics: sausage, bacon, hashbrowns and yogurt. If I have any real«complaints» about S&S, they are, one, breakfast is only served until 11:00am – I’m one of those who enjoys the occasional«breakfast for dinner” – and, two, there is no WiFi offered, but those are minor concerns for me when compared to the quality of service and value. A hearty thank-you to A.J., Stormie, Kayleen, Delaney, Catherine, Melinda, and Sonya for all the great times. Keep up the good work, ladies!

Why is my review only two stars is because the wait time here was very long and our order was completely messed up. It took forever to get waited on and served which means the waitress was so far behind in our orders and other customer orders. The floor was soaking wet from spilled drinks instead of cleaning it up the employees decided to put a caution wet floor sign over the spilt drink and it took 30 minutes to get that cleaned up. Other customers besides my family complaining about how sorry the customer service from the waitress and how the orders was really slow and no one got what they ordered. The manager kept blaming how busy it was instead on fixing the issues that existed with the food orders, drinks all over the floor, no employees helping each other to make sure the customers were happy with their food orders. We have been here a few times before and the service was great but today’s visit just really sucked with all the staff not helping one another. The manager didn’t have a clue on how to fix the issues with the customers not getting their food a lot of people were complaining. My advice is work together with each other and this location will succeed and can do better.

I have to start by saying the food was good. I was greeted promptly and by what I have to say the best waiter ever named Akiles. He was so friendly, attentive, and delightful. I went with my husband and two of my kids. Although the service was great they did not have any cookies for my dessert but Akiles gave it to me free without the cookie so it was a sundae with whip cream. I don’t believe they do the paper hats anymore. What a shame. Everything else was great. I will come back. Really good burgers. Great customer service.

The Waitress(Brooke) was very cheerful, pleasant, & helpful. Food was great. Fries needed salt, but it’s better than being too salty. Had the side by side strawberry banana shake… awesome!

I give Steak-n-Shake a BIG5. The service they give us was the best. The place was packed but it seemed like everyone was getting the attend that they deserted. The service was right on point and the prices were right too. The girls loved every minute. When the service Is right the tip is right. Thanks Steak-N-Shake in Brandon for the great job that was done.

Order not filled as requested(out of baked beans), cold fries, cold burger… way too long to fill our order. One burger was not done. Delay in getting silverware etc. Lots of inexperienced servers and no management awareness of what was going on with our order or others. It was a Tuesday night between 7&8 pm. Heard arguing and voices raised among the cooks and servers. Stuff happens, but it just wasn’t a good night for them.

Steak and Shake is a great restaurant I love coming here I usually always get great service this last time I came I did get horrible service it seemed like the waitress didn’t care at all about us she even forgot about us when we asked for more time to look at the menu we had to ask a waiter to get her. Also later I saw her laughing and chatting with other employees when she should have been checking on us. She came to our table just to give us food and one set of drinks. But I’m not going to base my review off of just that one bad employee because every other time I come here I love it. Amazing shakes and burgers. Will definitely be back. Just hope I don’t get that one waitress again…

I’ve never really frequented steak and shake but they are popular here. Went in twice so far and have been happy with the food. I don’t realy care for the fries – they are skinny and tend to overcook and become too crispy. I prefer Wendy’s natural fries. But the steakburgers and shakes are very good. Last time, I ordered a steakburger with exactly what I wanted and the bun was perfectly steamed and patties were cooked well… better than wendy’s and BK and a whole world better than McDonalds. Right now they have the half price shakes 2−4pm and 2−4am. Good deal. Caio!

What can you say, its Steak n’ Shake, through and through. Its my go to late night staple food(if I’m not in proximity of a Krystal Burger or What-a-Burger that is). Food is consistently satisfactory and you always know what to expect. pssst… if you go in there real late at night and ask for a cup of chili reaaaaal nice, they give you a cereal bowl of chili for the same price.

A Short&Sweet Review… Shorter than most review and sweeter than a quick tip. SHORT(not so great…) 1. The fries(it’s not bad… just A-OK). SWEET!(The Good…) 1. Opens 24 hours(heard it’s best after a night of debauchery!) 2. The shakes(I tried the mint cookies — awesome.) 3. The prices are as cheap as it can get! 4. The hamburgers are made in a billion styles… try them all!

Ah. Day after clubbing ‘breakfast’ at 1 pm is always a WIN at S&S. Single burger with mustard relish, pickles, grilled onions and cheese… a small chocolate shake(hold the terrible whipped topping) and a huge glass of water… YUM. Honestly — I love S&S more than you can know… and that meal was just one in a long run of awesome meals. If their chili wasn’t so damed salty(inedible) and the fries something other than shredded potatoes they’d almost always get 5 stars from me. Plus, the need to serve breakfast all day dagnabit,

With their current promotion of «4 Meals Under $ 4.00» this is definitely the budget-friendly restaurant you want to visit. Surprisingly, their chicken strips meal(one of the 4 under 4), has the best chicken strips of any restaurant I’ve been to. The tender white meat is always juicy and the breading is just crispy enough. The portion(3 chicken strips) is the perfect amount, allowing you to clean your plate without the heavy weighed down feeling of wanting a long nap. The cheese fries are also terrific — I love the shoe string style of the fries and the heaping helping they serve. Additionally, they are currently promoting«Kids Eat Free All Weekend» which is another great reason to pay them a visit. True to the old-fashioned soda jerk style, you can add different flavors to your soda. Although I found that chocolate Coke wasn’t bad, I wouldn’t recommend it be added to Orange soda. Enjoy!

This is one of my favorite places for milkshakes made from hard ice cream & topped with whipped cream & cherry. This place has a drive-thru, take out counter, or full service seating(menus) inside. Most of the food here tastes good, but not healthy. The prices are reasonable and the service is fairly quick. The burgers are okay(thin). When I stop here for lunch or dinner, I enjoy getting the Chili Mac(5 Way) over spaghetti, a garden salad, and a thick coffee mocha shake, sooo good.
