We carry shag rugs, indoor outdoor rugs, traditional rugs, transitional rugs, modern rugs, contemporary rugs, solid rugs, braided rugs, textured rugs, hand knotted rugs, machine made rugs, kids rugs and custom rugs. We have sizes that range from door mats to mansion-​sized rugs. We work very closely with set decorators and can get you a rug before your shoot date. We invite you to look around, feel the different textures and study the intricate colors up close… that’s what real rug shopping is all about. History

Established in 1979.

The owners worked in the home furnishing business previously, opened first at Swap Meets and Flea markets selling chair pads, tablecloths, curtains and braided rugs. In 1983, they opened a store on Stagg St in Van Nuys, Ca., grew and changed their focus to area rugs. At Home in the Valley is now one of the largest area rug stores in the USA and moved around the block to Saticoy St east of Hayvenhurst near Van Nuys Airport Tower in July 2005. Open 7 days a week 10am-​6pm. Come enjoy their 18,000 sq. ft store filled with beautiful rugs that are ready to take home and enjoy today!

Very good experience shopping for rugs at At Home in the Valley. Excellent selection with prices more than fair. Our sales person was very helpful. While we spent an inordinate amount of time comparing different rugs and changing our mind a number of times, we never felt rushed or pushed to make a purchase. We wound up buying a rug for the living room and another for the dining room, both a a great price.

My husband and I have previously purchased 2 rugs in from At Home in the Valley and truly enjoyed the experience. Today, was no different. We were unable to decide between two selections. One of the team members suggested that we try both in our home and return the one we don’t select by tomorrow. Works for me since I work nearby.

Nice little spot away from too much traffic. The size of this place is one for the books. Their variety and options leave no stone unturned. To top it off with a staff that’s helpful and attentive, names I remember– Marisela, and derell (I hope I spelled those right). it’s surely my spot to get all my carpet. Not to forget I found something else I was looking for. they have recently opened up their «flooring» and «surfacing» by offering some beautiful porcelain tiles and Quartz counter surfaces. If you are looking for any of the things I mentioned above. You have to go and see them soon!

Much better to see the actual rug colors and examine the texture and craftsmanship than to trust the colors and descriptions on a computer monitor.
For a fee a worker brought three rugs to our home so we could see how the colors and scale of the pattern worked in the intended room.
As advertised they matched an online discounter’s lower price.

Really liked the look of the rug I picked out. It was $ 790.00 (a hefty amount for a 7×9) bought in 2014. After several attempts to get rid of the smell of the carpet (cleaning/​carpet deodorizer), it never lost its stink. Makes the whole living room smell horrible. It also unravels and has little little threads stick up. The edges have tuffs come out. Extremely poor quality. Will never shop here again.

Went early Saturday morning. There were no other customers in the store but not a single employee acknowledged our presence for over 20 minutes. We looked around for a bit and then an employee came over to assist us but really did not provide any assistance. I indicated the types if things that I did not want in a rug such as certain colors or styles. They were unable to provide any choices beyond the common styles. Prices were also quite high. I will not go back due to the poor service and lack of options.

This place is amazing. Tucked in a random corner of Van Nuys, it’s a paradise for picky rug shoppers like me. Sure, I can buy online and maybe save a few bucks but what if it doesn’t work out? Who wants to pay return shipping?
When you walk into the store, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with the massive selection but don’t worry, at least two employees will ask you if you need help. They are incredibly knowledgeable and want to make sure that you get the perfect rug for your home. There is no hard sell here.
I’ve purchased three rugs here and will keep coming back and referring friends/​family. They have great sales, too.

Great selection — was looking for an outdoor carpet — Wayfair/​Frontgate both more expensive and on back order. Well worth the drive from So. After years and years of seeing their TV ads, I made a trip today out to this store, and am glad I did. They are in the midst of a big sale, which made my timing right.
The first of the bedrooms is getting the top-​to-​bottom cleaning and repainting as I write this, including inside the walk-​in closet. After the nasty old carpeting gets ripped up within the week, I’m going to refinish the wood flooring myself, and lay down a terrific rug I found at AHITV.
The other reviewers were right about the big selection, and I was also more than impressed by the friendly service. They give the impression of being a «family company,» even with hospitality from their 5-​year-​old, brother-​and-​sister pair of Golden Retrievers, Sonny and Cher. Eric, Sam, and Joe helped me «shoe-​horn» my rolled-​up new rug into my teeny car.
I WILL be back when it’s time to get more rugs for the other rooms.

This place is fantastic. They offer a range of choices for a reasonable price. More importantly, their customer service is top notch. I had few great experiences there. Marisela was one of the sales people that helped me out: informative, patient, friendly… I had trouble deciding what rugs to choose. She had their workers lay the rugs on the floor for me one by one. I never felt the pressure to buy.
I had to make my last purchase on the whim. I didn’t have time to go back there, could’t remember the name of the rug and couldn’t properly describe it to her. Marisela patiently sent me many pictures and arranged the purchase over the phone. The rugs I have purchased from that are high quality. They have exceeded my expectations. They fully deserve a 5 star!

I picked up a few after 2 hours of looking around. I have to tell myself, «it’s going to work out and will look great after furniture sits on it.

Amazing selection of rugs from contemporary to classic to groovy to weird. Steve the owner is friendly and not a hard sell person at all; we took our time and he was happy to pull down as many rugs as we wanted to check how they looked flat, and eventually left with an amazing rug that we totally love, though probably not the rug we thought we were going to get… itself a testament to the amazing choices available here.

I have to say I really love this place. I hope we have to shop here more often. We pulled up and before we even got out of the truck, we were greeted by 2 gentlemen wanting to help up. Note: I pulled up in a big truck so you might not get the same service.
We walked in and were greeted by Eric, who already knew who we were and what we were there for. (Out boss called ahead) While he was finishing the paperwork, we walked around and do they have a huge selection. Small bathroom rugs for the shower or toilet, all the way to huge area rugs, and some special order sizes too. Round, square, rectangle, and even odd shaped ones. Great prices and they are offering 20% for their black Friday special. Also, if you spend over $ 300 you get a free small rug.
I’ve been looking for an area rug for my moms house, now I found a place to get it. Thanks Eric and everyone else there…
