I drove 2 hours to check out burmans casting resin and a few misc items. I wish I had just ordered from someone else online. The guy who «helped» me today didn’t seem interested in the slightest. My questions were answered with «umm I guess» and «check online». I won’t be going back and I’ll only order from them online if I have to.
I was a bit annoyed that I was all the way in LA and didn’t get what I wanted so I decided to stop by Nigel’s Beauty Supply. I highly recommend Nigel’s! The guy who helped me was very knowledgable and helpful.

Burman Industries is awesome. If you need anything for special fx makeup such as sculpting, or molding supplies, bulk latex, prosthetic glue… whatever, they have it here. Its a discrete location, so deploy your GPS. This place is not a beauty supply, rather an industrial special fx supply house that caters to the film industry artist. The staff are very helpful, but this is a place where you should have at least SOME idea what you are doing before buying stuff. These are professional products that could potentially harm you if you’re playing around after watching a «how to» video on youtube about how to do special fx. If you are a beginner or student, just ask the staff whats what. You will probably run into some pros while inside anyway, so ask away before doing anything. HAVE FUN!

They have an OK selection and while the prices may be slightly lower it is very out of the way from LA. I had the WORST customer service when I went there. I called ahead of time to hold some latex. I had some questions about payment. (My client wanted to pay for the latex but she lives out of state) I asked if they could take payment over the phone and they said that they dont do that. I explained to them my situation and they said that they could do it. I drove for an hour to get there and when I arrived AFTER CONFIRMING that I could have my client pay by phone they told me that they wouldn’t do it. So I asked them if she could purchase it through their online store and if I could pick it up. They said that it was not possible. That they had to ship it to the billing address. The costumer service was a joke and honestly they were very very rude.

Great store, great supplies. Many many sculpting tools and clay. Very useful for anyone who is going into make up effects and whatnot. Great prices, too.
The only downside is the employees aren’t as friendly as I wish they could be.

I wont go anywhere but Burman and reynolds. this is without a doubt the best spfx supply around. they have everything you need and no b.s. junk to sift through like most of the other places do. And they don’t overcharge for simple things like tongue depressers and syrringes. When Alex worked there the service was great. He was always really helpful and took a lot of time to help out customers. Its really too bad he’s not there anymore. Great prices too.

Okay, these guys blow Cinema Secrets out of the water with regards to true special effect make-​up supplies.
From fabrication to actualization, they’ve got what you need. Foams, silicones, gels, mold making, etc… Their inventory is very impressive.
The website has been revamped and is much more user friendly than it used to be.
It just dawned on me that I need to get some more sculpting tools, guess where I’m going to get them from?
