What a nightmare. When will schools understand that if someone brings their children in to see the schools that they don’t want the director of admissions to walk out and tell you to read the website for information. How Rude! I did read the website, she just didn’t listen to my question. We had to search for the school on the second floor of what looked like a vacant building. The director tried to be nice, but overall she was snide and I did not get a good vibe.

This school is ideal for parents that are to busy to be involved in their child or children’s lifes. I have a daughter that goes to this horrible money hungry school, she has learned alot she brings home a horrible attitude, thinks she is bisexual or full lesbian, mind you she never even talked about these issues until we were dumb enough to check her into this God awful school. She doesn’t have any homework and is constantly doing nothing but dance, dance dance dance. Some of the teachers are only a few years older than the students, they have more pay for admission events than anything else and mind you they charge alot for a school events…90% of the students are disrespectful and outspoken with swear words in front of teachers in every even we have been to, hope this school is condemned..

My son loves Champs. I am so grateful to the teachers and administrators that have inspired him to be the best that he can be. We have encountered nothing but kindness and support. My son isn’t the best student but they keep him engaged. More importantly I like the artistic vibe of the student body… there is room for quirky students in this school without the bullying… HURRAY
I wish they had a better campus. I wish parents were more involved in fundraising and fixing problems than complaining about being asked to go to a fundraiser. The fact is that its a CHARTER school with parent involvement. There are tons of private schools in the area that get $ 30,000 plus a year and they ask for donations. Next year I will be more involved to help myself.
A great school for your family to consider but from a parent (my perspective) only come if you are ready to be involved and make a difference.

Best experience my son has EVER had at school. Innovative, creative teachers with cool assignments. A wide spectrum of students. Individuality is encouraged. Politeness demanded. Bullying NOT tolerated. Is it perfect, no. What school is? Still in its infancy, some challenges are being worked out. Extra curricular activities are still being developed. Occasionally, a sub-​par teacher is released … and quickly. The point is even with the bumps of growing, this school is terrific. Not just my opinion or my son’s, but EVERY student I have asked has said, «I love CHAMPS!»

My son loves Champs. Their Robotics Program just placed 3^rd in the world. Kids are getting into Ivy League schools. They have great academics, wonderful and nurturing faculty, and a very innovative curriculum. The dance, performance, media and robotics academies are terrific. I’d recommend this school to anyone. I already have.

Still seem to be quite a number of issues including parents being told they may find an eviction notice on the building because of landlord disputes. So not happy that my kid was told to bring $ 120 for sport with no previous notice due in 3 days for a sport that never required fees and shouldn’t. It’s a course with a grade. And still serious lack of response from administration. In almost two years I have never once had an email or phone call returned by the principal on serious issues. In balance many of my kid’s teachers are good but there are still some that have issues and very bad attitudes. We were promised a Disney sponsored animation studio at the required orientation last year and now we find out that it won’t even be started till long after our students graduate. Shame! This school has to be a good school for ALL the students not just performing arts. Digital media, robotics and college prep matter too but the lion’s share of attention and resources go to performing arts with those parents being able to demand and receive a separate parent/​teacher/​booster organization. Very divisive. This school could be a great school. Right now they are still not responsive and parents, particularly parents who do not have thousands of dollars to donate, are treated as an intrusion. Parent partnership and volunteering have decreased dramatically. The annual fundraiser had to be cancelled for lack of sales. While many of us continue to participate, it feels like an uphill battle. BTW, every fake review administrators or their cronies post are easy to spot-​almost always only one review with the same language. I’m tired of hearing about challenges being worked out and growing pains in reference to unprofessional behavior. Every child in this school has ONE high school experience. They can’t wait years for the school to get a clue.

CHAMPS is a great school for our daughter, who is a dancer. She has the opportunity to develop her dancing skills under some amazing teachers while receiving a great academic experience. The school is not perfect by any means, but the teachers are passionate and the opportunities to focus on an area are great.
