History

Established in 1994.

Hamlin Dental Group was first established in 1994 in Van Nuys Ca. Thanks to the support of the community a Northridge location was opened in 1995, followed by the North Hollywood location in 2002. Hamlin Dental Group is widely recognized for their service and contributions to the well being of the San Fernando Valley community. They hold numerous awards and recognitions by the city of Los Angeles for their donations and support to the community including schools, senior centers, shelters, rehabilitation programs and youth centers. They were named Best Dentist 2011 by top​doc​.com and were also featured in a segment for the ‘Dr. Oz’ show on channel FOX 11.

Our President and Founder has been practicing Dentistry for almost two decades. He started Hamlin Dental Group Van Nuys in 1994 and has since expanded to Northridge and North Hollywood. His vision has always and continues to remain the same, welcome each patient as family. Strive to offer the best dental care and support to create healthy smiles for every patient, including those who with less opportunity, or resources.

His experience includes Oral Surgery, Endodontics, Periodontal treatment, General and Cosmetic Dentistry.

He has been the preferred dental provider for entire families from generation to generation.

He has been recognized for his generous contributions to the well being of children and families in need. He extends his kindness and generosity to the entire practice. With his leadership, Hamlin Dental Group has been volunteering in schools, parent centers and senior homes giving oral hygiene and dental health workshops.

This place is the fucking worst they were being anal about what time u get here and also how u have to pay 50 dollars if u cancel ur appointment I had a 2pm appt. And I walked in at 1:40 pm and till this point have not yet been attended I will not be coming here EVER AGAIN THIS SERVICE WAS THE WORST I ONLY PUT 1 STAR BECAUSE U HAVE TO OR ELSE I WOULDN’T PUT ANYTHING. When I went to my appointment, I was told, «I’m sorry, we are overbooked today so we have to reschedule you.» With a sarcastic tone I had to tell her, «I’m sorry for showing up».
With my fingers crossed, I went to my appointment again which was for cleaning. I drink a lot of coffee and didn’t make time to clean my teeth for two years. (I know, gross). Dentist Reza didn’t even bother to touch my last teeth. When I brought it to his attention at the end, he claimed that he cleaned everything and that’s the colour of my teeth and its normal for some people. Hum. stains, natural colour, normal. Wait, I’m not stupid so I have to disagree with you Reza. Now he’s very upset. Forcefully and angrily he’s scrapping my teeth. He removed most of the stains I had and of course, he also damaged a tooth of mine which is very sensitive now.
He’s trying to make as much money as possible. So you won’t have your questions answered. He’s working on multiple patients at the same time. Running from room to room.
My advice to you, RUN. There are better dentists out there.

SCAM. Beware, I went here for a regular clean, which I was told over the phone was $ 45 (month long special). When I called to schedule an appointment they lady never heard of the special but offered me a reduced price plus initial exam and X-​rays (additional cost).
The X-​ray process was UNSANITARY. I was even told to hold the metal probe. Their process is dated and they used plastic wrap for the pieces they put in my mouth! The lady touched the computer, keyboard, X-​ray buttons etc all in between poking at my mouth.
After the dentist reviewed everything I was told I needed a deep clean costing $ 400+ and they wouldn’t do the regular $ 45 clean. Then I was sat in chair and told to wait on the manager who advised I needed $ 1100 worth of work! Oh and they insisted I watch a 3 minute long video in between all this by putting on disgusting earphones!
Sounds so familiar to other peoples experience. They obviously lure you in with their ‘promotion’ that a doesn’t exist, then prey on vulnerable people that don’t even need work done!
Place is disgusting. Nothing seemed sterile. Pay extra and go to a legitimate dentist.

I must say that the Dentist here has the most awesome energy surrounding him. I’ve never been so at ease at a dentist office before. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and seem to go that extra mile to make sure you understand everything. Great office!!!

This place is a scam. I went in for an initial visit and was at first fooled by the seemingly friendly staff. I was expecting a teeth cleaning and to speak with the doctor. The first nurse that came in took a very long time to take x-​rays. She was not sanitary and attempted to reuse something that had been in my mouth then placed on a table. When the dentist came in he looked at the xrays quickly then proceeded to poke around my mouth «diagnosing» me with several teeth issues I simply do not have. Next, another nurse came in to run me through all of the dental work I would need. It totaled around $ 1,500. I told her that simply was not feasible and she went on telling me to fill out a form so they could check my credit, I refused. She then told me to ask my parents for the money. I felt completely violated. The other nurse returned to clean my teeth and only polished them. She left the air sucking tube thing in my mouth which left a cut. She did not scrape or do a proper routine cleaning. This place is unsanitary and manipulative. They are preying on those with low income. DO NOT GO HERE.

I called this office because of a crown the doctor did 2 years ago. It fell off while I was eating. The receptionist gives me the runaround as this is an emergency she is failing to understand. Finally she wants to sell me x-​trays. All I called for was to get my crown that fell off back in place. There is no x-​ray needed as I told here in a angry tone. She finally sets me up for a emergency appointment. I get to the dental office I am charged $ 20 for the consultation fee which I did not know. Then the same assistant tries to sell me a discount membership for dental work, since mine had expired at $ 70. All an UPSELLl! all about business. I see the dentist, he cements my tooth back in place, and as I am about to leave they charge me another $ 50 for the cement fee. From the first time I have come to this facility, it is all about business!!! Always trying to upsell and charge for something. Anyways there are much better places to get dental work done. Be careful they will just charge and charge you for every little thing. there are much better practices out there. I am fed up!!!

I’d had a bad experience with dentists in the past, so I did a lot of research before choosing Hamlin Dental Group. The reviews were good, but I was still skeptical when I walked in the door this week, especially since it was the first time my youngest son was visiting a dentist. Fortunately the staff there were wonderful. Nora, the receptionist, made me feel welcome right away. The dental assistant, Florence, was extremely patient and friendly with my little guy, explaining everything to him so he wouldn’t be scared. The dentist, Dr. Joe, was very nice to all of us, and didn’t try to push any extra services on us like dentists have done to me in the past.
Even though there were other patients there we never felt rushed or ignored. The wait time was phenomenal — about 1 minute. Also, I really appreciated the comfy couch instead of the hard chairs you usually find at a doctor or dentist office. My sons liked looking at the cute murals painted on the walls. There isn’t a single negative thing I can say about this place. I’m so glad I found it!

Made an appointment two months ago for a X-​ray and cleaning, confirmed multiple times, on the day of appt, I go in and am told they won’t do a cleaning today! WTF? I was about to leave but she said speak to the doctor, I stayed and got my X-​rays done which btw was such an unsanitary and ghetto process!
They used this makeshift probe and covered it with saran wrap each time she had to move it around, at whilst touching the room, mouse and chair… UGH! The lady I guess was an idiot too, she took 17 X-​rays on me because she kept messing up. At one point I had to use my hand to hold the probe in place– RIDICULOUS!
Chair was dirty, utensils seemed dirty and wash seemed dirty as well… Just didn’t feel welcome from the get go; (it was my first time going).
X-​rays revealed 3 specks of tartar in the gums which aren’t even THAT serious, «doctor» comes in trying to up sell me
a deep cleaning package (not covered by insurance)… So stupid, I kept asking if they could just do a basic cleaning (no, we MUST do a deep cleaning)– «insurance will see the X-​rays and question why we did basic”— RETARD you just told me insurance won’t cover it so why would they care what you do to me?!? HOW DO I KNOW THEY WILL EVEN SEND insurance anything?!
AVOID THIS PLACE— they want your money that’s it!

I have been quite the regular at Hamlin Dental, especially now since I have my braces. The staff are really friendly and always call with reminders regarding appointments. Sterile technique is observed during each visit. It is also quite convenient since it’s pretty close to home for me. Dental fees for procedures are always explained up front. Anything not covered by insurance of course is an expense out of pocket, but patients do have the right to refuse, especially if they can’t afford it.
The dentists are really good at following up, especially after dental treatments. I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Reza and even though wisdom teeth extractions are somewhat uncomfortable in general, especially when there is swelling and pain involved, Dr. Reza made sure I was doing okay after the procedure. As far as my braces, Dr. Garemani has done well so far updating me with my progress and explaining my options. No issues so far with my braces.
My daughter also comes here for her dental appointments as well, cleanings, fillings, etc. Like most kids, there is some anxiety, especially when the word «dentist» is mentioned. My daughter is no different. For the most part, the staff was pretty good at calming her down, enough to get her through each procedure. The brightly painted treatment rooms with Disney characters help to dispel any fears. Having a tv monitor showing cartoons also helps as well (each treatment room has one I believe, including earphones). Dr. Yessaian has always done a wonderful job with my daughter.

I came in for a crown and within days it was completed. The staff were friendly, and the Dr. was honest as to what treatment to perform on my tooth. I went to two different dentists and one wanted an arm and the other a leg, however, I found Hamlin Dental Group to have the best price. I am giving it a four star, as the facility is not the greatest, but again, the service perfomed was excellent — so don’t judge a book by its cover. I recommend this place.

Been coming here since I was a little girl, Dr. Reza is the nicest and best dentist. I admit the wait is kind of long but definitely worth it. I don’t know what other people are saying about being overcharged, I’ve never been overcharged for something and they are always straight forward about everything.

ALL THE STAFF were extremely RUDE, Dentist was the worst EVER. The place was dirty. what a RIPOFF PRACTICE. Just do yourself a favor go somewhere else. This place should receive ZERO STAR. Nothing else to say about this place.
Watch out for some «NEEDLESS» recommened procedures from the Dentist that they know that it is not cover by your insurance so you have to pay out of your pocket. what a scam. and most importantly, you do not even needed, I felt like I was at a car dealer services department rather than a Dental office.

Worst place to go TO!!! People there are really no help at all. They give you list of things and places that you dont need at all and just get you frustrated. They r suppost to be helpful and they are nothing but no help to the public. The staff has no idea what so ever of what they are doing. They need to get a better staff and trained better. They should even research the other specialist they send you to because they give you numbers to places where they dont even have a specialist and they just make you go on circles. This was the Biggest WASTE OF MY TIME. I really recommend DENTAL VILLE. Staff there knows what they are doing, they have a specialist in the office and they give you accurate answers.

I came here only because of an emergency root canal had to be done. They were rude I was in pain after procedure and they were being pushy. The front desk lady acts nice but isn’t. If you do not call ahead of 48 hours to cancel they charge 25 $ extra fee ?? Thats ridiculous. Super rude clerks.

The worst dentist ever. RIPOFF! I went to get a cleanup but was instead, there for 3 hrs. And after the doctor checked my teeth without cleaning & showed me everything that was wrong with my teeth. Then a video was was played, the lady comes in with a printout showing me that my insurance will need to pay about $ 2300 & I will have to pay about $ 1500 out of pocket for that was needed for my teeth. Instantly I asked for a discount & asked which procedures weren’t absolutely necessary. The answer… they were all important & very much needed. They even qualified my for a Care Credit within minutes but would NOT give me a printout of what was needed claiming they cannot give out their diagnosis to clients. I even asked for a printout without pricing but to not avail. Then I called a day later asking them how was I supposed to make a $ 3000.00 decision without knowing exactly what each procedure is & what it will do for me. The lady, Myra was very condescending claiming that this was explained to me on my visit but I told her the only thing that was discussed was the money issue. She insisted I come in to discuss it further but I told her I wasn’t sending another 3 hrs off work. I ask, Aren’t there any more honest Dentist’s around anymore??? We have just become $$$ signs to these people. They’re simply a money making scam, definitely worst than attorneys. It’s a sad, sad world we live in. What happened to integrity & honesty & what happened to helping people???

Danger!!! This place has only 1 agenda: scam you out of as much money as possible. They tried to pressure me into getting all sorts of work done (that I didn’t need) because they had a «1-​day only special.» The worst part is that they claimed to have called my insurance company to find out about benefits, and insisted that certain things (like composite fillings) were NOT covered and that I should really take advantage of the 1-​day special they were having, schedule all the extra work, and pay out of pocket that same day. They got upset when I said I wanted to call the insurance company myself to confirm, and said their offer would not be valid if I left the office. Of course, when I called my insurance company, they said that composite fillings and all the things they had mentioned absolutely WERE covered in my plan, and that there was no need to pay out of pocket for anything. I was so upset, I went to another dentist to have my teeth checked, and he said they were in perfect condition and didn’t need anything done anyway!
