I really wish I would’ve checked the Unilocal reviews before I gave these thieves my money. I had been driving for hours and was exhausted. I pulled over to use the Wifi at Starbucks and found this place on
. it was the cheapest I could find at 11PM, and I was too tired to keep looking. Not only did they jack up the price from what was advertised, but they took forever to check me in. The place was filled with drug-​dealing scumbags hanging outside in the parking lot. TV doesn’t work, bed is filthy, and the whole place smells like urine. I finally got to sleep after the noise outside quieted down. I was forced to stay another night, and when I went to the desk to pay for an extra day, I was told that my rate would increase to $ 85. I declined and went to my room to find another hotel, but didn’t want to go through the same thing with another hotel, so I decided to bite the bullet and just pay it. Then the clerk told me it was now $ 90! These people are scumbags and thieves. After reading all the other comments, I wonder why someone doesn’t shut this place down. How can these people operate a hotel this way? How can this be legal? The family that runs this place have ZERO concern for their business or their guests. I’ve stayed in a lot of low-​rent motels in my life, but this one has to be the worst.

We booked here for a night and in the middle of the night and we were both bitten to H3LL all on my back and his knee. He now needs medical attention.
We tried several times to get in touch with the night manager and too no avail. We ended up staying on our car like homeless people. We finally got the night manager in the morning and he said he needed to talk to the other manager and we needed to come back. We were tired and aggravated and went and got another room. This was all on Christmas eve. It’s now Christmas day and we went back to the HYLAND MOTEL and again was sent away and asked to come back. Oh by the way when we were leaving the first time the manager in site went to our room and pulled out the towel we left full of dead bloody bedbugs. Soooo we now go back and very calmly asked for a refund and they refused and then asked for a credit for another night or a free night for tonight in a definitely clean non bug infested room. They refused that and said they would give us a 10% discount off the original amount of the room they say is $ 85 ummm no that is not true. The regular price is $ 54 and we go through cheap tickets. Com and when we book the room it’s supposed to be cheaper than that but it always ends up being $ 64 +$ 20 processing fee now how is that cheaper? It’s a classic bait and switch. anyway I digress they refused to do anything to compensate. So we called cheap tickets and they refused to help they bounced us to hotels. Com and they said they needed to call the hotel to see if they could refund us. Ok umm like I didn’t think of that first ??? They called the hotel and they said NO REFUND so in turn she apolajized in her most polite voice and tried to disconnect the call… oh hell no. Now I’m pissed off. I jump on the phone and demand a manager. I went round and round and she kept trying to blow me off. I’ve been in customer service 26 years I know the blow off game I wouldn’t stop until I got a voucher for a free night. But not at the HYLAND. So there it is I’m bitten he’s bitten and I am out money to have everything laundered and cleaned.
Never ever ever go here Unless you’re a $ 2 hooker looking for change and not going to actually sleep or sit on anything and can do your business standing up.

This motel is one of the worst and disgusting motel that I’ve ever been to. There was dirty pillows, sheets, mattress, floor, and used condoms under the bed towards the wall. There was hair everywhere. They charge $ 125 for a suit for one night that had no wifi, chairs, phone, and they had no ice Machine, no water machine, and the Manager want to charge me $ 2 for small bottle of warm water. That expensive suit was right next to the washing machine room and washing machines were washing all night till moring and makeing alot of noise. Vacuum and bags of trash was right in front of the room. Six people upstairs were partying all night till 5 am intill i walked to the front desk and told the manger. The manager said that I can’t do anything they won’t listen to me you don’t like it you can leave. With no refunds. And I left at 6 o’clock am even though my check out was at 11 am. Not body go to that hell motel.

This place is so disgusting the bed sheets had hair all over it. The pillows were like 20 years old all yellow and stained, the air conditioner had no knobs and the room smelled like mildew, mold ewww. I wasn’t going to stay there. They charged us $ 95 a night but we left 3 hours later cause I was grossed out and I wasn’t going to sleep in that dirty ugly bed. $ 95 wasted but I’d rather lose the $ than get some kind do of disease or illnesses in that room. Don’t go here it is disgusting!

DON’T STAY HERE, the owners are THIEVES!!! They do not honor reservations made on their own website if they have a chance to get more money from drop ins. I was left in Van Nuys with no where to go because they didn’t honor my reservation and confirmation number. AVOID at all costs… WOULD GIVE THEM –5 STARS IF I COULD.

Disgusting rooms and not sure what’s going on right outside my door. Literally afraid for my life right now.

I hope that by not checking ANY star that this app will translate that decision as my «Not even worthy of a One-​Star rating».
This downgraded Bates Motel is beyond scary. I can wrap it all up by declaring the room DOES NOT include knobs. The knobs throughout the sketchy room are removed. No door knob on the bathroom. No knobs on the 30 year old A/​C unit. Missing smoke detector (no basic security). No burglar bar.
Just learned I HAD to give it ONE STAR!!!

Worst motel ! Dirty sheets, dirty room, broken doors, broken toilet seat, stained mattress, stained curtains, dirty a.c. Refused to give us a refund even though the room was horrible! I definitely don’t recommend anyone to stay at this motel.

This place is total crap. Motel 6 charges 75 per night. This place gave me a room with no ac or heat and tried 80 on me. The worst part last time I stayed here the same room and the same bs. They told me, oh no worries next time we will hook you up. Haha okay I’ve had that said twice and got a 5 dollar discount only once and that was when I told him «your trying to get full price out of a room that cant maintain room temp. when tomorrow is going to be in the 80’s. This is vally weather remember ! He didn’t care one bit. In fact asked me if I’ve been drinking because i sounded unreasonable. (Note didn’t raise my voice once just pointed out the facts to him respectful ly… Not only am I leaving this bad review but hopefully the city would like to have there hands on a dump like this. What the hell is wrong with people these days.

This was my worst experience ever. We were looking for a cheap place to stay and for the price we thought it would be decent… The room was dirty, no towels or toilet paper. The walls and furniture were all full with graffiti… It stunk and you could hear people having sex very loud, people yelling… Very negative vibe. It’s not just a cheap hotel, this should be supervised by the health department and shut down or remodel and cleaned… Not fair to offer this place in hotel cites!

Just another cheap motel on Slutty Sepulveda Nothing special or nice. low budget i think over priced but ehh.
It’s about 60 bucks a night don’t expect anything nice just a basic boring room.

In all seriousness though, this place was a dump. The room only had one towel, no cups for water, the sheets had someone else’s hair on them and the night stand fell apart with the slightest touch.
Avoid this motel like the plague. In fact, you may actually get the plague if you stay here.
Update: This place definitely has bed bugs. A friend went to the doctor and was told that the itchy spots on her legs were indicative of it.

This place was a block away from a Motel 6 and we are glad we stopped. A little old school but the Manager was very nice. When we got home the next day 500 miles + away we realized we left my pack full of stuff and they got it back to us. That’s where Old School is a good thing. It was quiet there and we got the first decent night sleep on the whole trip.

to get a reservation for the night and everything was paid for and confirmed. When my grandmother and little cousins arrived they denied them a room saying that they did not get a fax from the

On top of that, they did not even have the courtesy of having my family wait inside and made them wait outside in the cold. After 45 mins of waiting they still could not accept a credit card over the phone and making us go through all these obstacles when all we really needed was a room for an old women and a sick child. This was also past midnight and the person in charge did nothing but tell us it would take 2 – 3 more hours. I do not recommend this place at all. Not even a 5 star hotel and cant even give us a room. PATHETIC. I hope they go back to school to learn about hotel management or hospitality because this place sucks. WORST SERVICE EVER.

This star is actually a negative star minus 1 to the tenth power. Where to start *shakes head*…
My wife and I drove down from San Diego and found this place online last minute. Upon our arrival we walked to the front office for our key… they made us sign a waiver that we weren’t involve in any illegal activity or prostitution… how degrading. They only gave us 1 key, So we go to the room and it’s a smokers room that was turned into a non smokers room… You can imagine the years of cigaret smells… We requested non smoking because 1 we don’t smoke and two, my wife is pregnant. We go to the front and request a change and he says «oh that one is non smoking»… C’mon it had a friggen cigaret burn on the cover. The sofa was an old 1970 piece of furniture and it was black, the original color was like orange or something. Finally he gives us another room it’s like 2 times better than the first one but the walls where dirty and very small. There was no ironing board as described by the website. We ask for one and they tell us they don’t have that. So we delt with it and use the small table inside. As I start walking to the car, I notice people live here and in the parking lot inside their cars… As soon as I try to go back, my card key does not work so I have to walk all the way around to the front and leave the parking lot door open while I’m getting my stuff down, we are here for 2 days, 1 more day to go… All this for 65 dollars a night. I’d rather pay 80 – 90 and be in a safer part of town… Beware and stay away.

This hotel is one of the worst that I have ever stayed in. The room smelled of old cigarettes and deodorizer. There was no phone or remote in the room and the «decorative chair & ottoman» were stained beyond all reason. The curtains looked as if there was blood smeared on it. I have stayed in all sorts of motels and hotels in the same area and none have been as bad as this one!

My boyfriend and I stayed here just for one night. The room was huge. Other than that, it smelled like mold or mildew. The room and the bathroom seemed clean enough but the smell just hinted at something less sanitary going on. This was just a very bare bones room: white walls, bed with generic sheets, TV above a drawer, an open closet, and the bathroom. Not even a boring old painting to look at.
