I must say I Love this little hole in the wall. I use to enjoy going to Marios and a few other spots. But comparing this place to them, I prefer Listo El Pollo on their customer service and the quality of food.

First time trying Peruvian food, I have to say I was not disappointed by this place. My gf brought me here I had a sanwhich and she had the original Lomo Saltado. Chicken and been were both well marinated and tender. The waiter was friendly and put off a positive vibe. Although we had gotten there after a large family of 8 our food was prepped and served pretty quickly. Overall the place was clean and will def be coming back.

Best anticuchos ever! I just got back from Peru and fell in love with this amazing dish! The owners are from Peru so that explains why the food is just soooooo delicious. The daughter of the owner helped us and she was so humble and attentive only bad thing is that there isn’t one in LA lol

This was just a straight coincidence, we were looking for good Peruvian and let me tell you — we found it! Boy, the food was flavorful and very well made. I could taste the quality, the service was amazing! We were helped by the owner, he was great! To be honest, I can not wait to go back. If you’re in the area, it’s a must! Enjoy.

Really enjoyed this place. Took some business associates and some family. One of the associates recently came back from South America and had peruvian food and he said that the ceviche was better here than there. WOW. We had a combination of goodies. MOstly we had saltado: Chicken, shrimp and Beef. And I ordered fish and shrimp ceviche. The corn drink was great. The green sauce was amazing.(WHATISTHATMADEOUTOFANYWAY ???) The server was awesome and went out of his way to call the owner about something we had a question about. To the owners: I wish I would have gotten his name :9 But whomever worked at 7 pm on November 12 was awesome. Love the place and I used to be a big fan of Lola’s but I think I am coming back here for sure.

I went to both locations in the past week and am hooked. Hands down the best Peruvian food around. Now if they can only open up a location in Studio City I’d be set for life. Their lomo is really good and they give you a decent amount especially for the price.

I was craving some ceviche and we stopped at this place. This place exceeded our expectations! Ceviche and shelled seafood were amazing! I’ll be back for sure. The guys were friendly too. And I liked the décor as well — stylish little place. My stamp is approval!

Went almost 2 months ago during a lunch break, the service was quick and the cashier/waiter was very welcoming and patient as my friend and I hemmed and hawwed over what to get(everything looks amazing). A coworker had brought a lomo saltado sandwich back the week before and I couldn’t get it out of my head… it was like a bite of heaven. So when the opportunity arose, I jumped in and suggested the place. I was pleased at the service, the restaurant is small but nicely decorated, and the food was great(plus the sauces you get at the table are amazingly delicious). I tried the ceviche since I’d had it at another Peruvian place and loved the fresh simplicity of the tender seafood with the bright acidity of lime and crunch of roasted corn. It seemed fitting, especially on a hot 100+ day in the valley. That and a cool glass of chicha morada and it was a great quick escape from the craziness of the day.

Yummy Peruvian food! Only downside is that their restaurant has a «B» rating and that it could be cleaner inside. Went with my friend Franck on 10÷13÷15

It’s a great lunch spot to have nearby. The flavor wasn’t bad but not the best around in Van Nuys as far as Peruvian chicken goes. There’s an extra 50 cents charged for using a debit card which is fine but the register kid didn’t mention it beforehand. The room is comfy, clean and new.

First time I order from this particular location. I’ve been to the one in reseda only once. I ordered a lomo saltado and papa ala huancaina. Lomo saltado: 4⁄5 This was delicious. The meat was tender and juice. The onions and tomatoes weren’t too over cooked which I loved. The fries were nicely done. I would have loved a bit more fries and tomatoes/onions but this might be a good thing for others since there was a good amount of meat on my to go container. More meat than vegetables. Papa ala huancaina: 3⁄5 Very generous portions. Big potato slices and a good amount of huancaina sauce. I did think the sauce was a little on the thick side but it could have been because it was to go and by the time I got home it thickened up a bit. The flavor was ok. The sauce needed a little kick of something else. Maybe more spice. Overall I really enjoyed my meal. The sauces could use some work though.

So My Brother brought me and my sister here for the first time and we are all Peruvian but didn’t eat much Peruvian Food as we grew up. So we came here and it was so delicious and bomb/Fire I loved the Inca cola to. The Papa A La Huancaina was a good appetizer and the main dishes were Arroz Chaufa De Carne & Pollo Saltado. this was all good for three adults just enough for all of us.

I think Listo de Pollo & Takatis are the two best Peruvian restaurants in the valley. I regularly go to the Listo de Pollo in Reseda but finally tried the location in Van Nuys which is equally good. For $ 5.99 you can get a ¼ chicken special with 2 sides and its a very filling meal. The rub they use for the chicken is really good and the meat has that nice smokey flavor from the cooking process. I love their white rice — it seems to have a light garlic taste. Also the white beans are delicious. You have to get a Chica Morada drink — it’s a blend of special Peruvian purple corn and pineapple. The staff at this location didn’t speak much English so it was a little difficult to communicate if you vary your order like I did by adding an extra side. I’m think I got overcharged by .50 but the food is so good and inexpensive it wasn’t worth arguing about. The pollo ala Brasa is so tender and juicy you really must try it!

Tried this place for my first time a few nights ago. From both the outside and inside, Listo El Pollo looks like a hidden jem. However, the food was below average and the customer service is horrible. I ordered take out from the store. Called my girlfriend to see if she would like anything. She decided to try the Lomo Saltado, their meat and potatoes dish. I ordered their steak sandwich. When I got home, my girlfriend’s meat and potato dish was missing the potatoes! I called the store and the associate apologized and said that normally they would send out a driver but they did not have one at that time. He said that next time I come in, they will provide free french fries to make up for the missing potatoes. However, my girl was expecting meat and potatoes and they did not deliver. She barely touched the dish. She did not like the taste of the meat. I tried a piece and thought it was okay. It reminded me of a home cooked steak and potatoes dish(with missing potatoes) by a non professional cook. I think the steak used was previously frozen and not fresh. When I was on the phone with the associate, my goal was to get the whole Lomo Soltado dish comped for the next time I visited. He was only offering free fries. He did not speak English well and I figured that when I would come back in person, they would understand the situation and redo the whole dish. Just went in today hoping that they would correct the situation. As the associate promised me over the phone, they offered me free fries. I explained that I was hoping to get the whole dish. Again English was limited. The associate called either the owner or store manager. I waited for over 10 minutes. After all that, he told me sorry, but they would only give me an order of fries. I told him that I wasn’t interested in just fries and left the restaurant, never to return. This is only my second review. If I did not receive poor customer service I would have rated this place 3 stars. And I would have likely eaten there again in the future, because it’s next to a 7 eleven that I go to. However, they definitely lost me as a potential customer. By the way, the steak sandwich that I initially ordered was okay. The sandwich had less steak than I would have expected and the steak did not taste fresh. The sauce they provided helped make the sandwich okay. They do have great sauces. But the sauces are likely a cover for not using the freshest ingredients.

I’m happy that we stumbled across this restaurant. Originally, we were out to get some Subway but then we read Peruvian Food. Oooh lala! We decided to try it out and I’m glad we did. It’s a little restaurant on Reseda, I liked the traditional homey atmosphere in the restaurant. We were there on a Tuesday night around 8 – 9 so there was parking(so not sure how busy they get during the day) but they had a couple of customers ahead of us. Their portion sizes are big. I love it. The meal is definitely worth the price. I kinda wish it was open 24 hours now lol but I hope they do well in business so that I can continue to go there haha. We got our food to go and our plates were packed with so much food, it was a challenge to finish it all :) I will be returning! Probably too soon lol
