History

Established in 2013.

State Farm was founded in 1922 as a mutual automobile insurance company owned by its policyholders. The firm originally specialized in auto insurance for farmers. The company later expanded its services into other types of insurance, such as homeowners and life insurance, in addition to banking and financial services.

As of December 2013 State Farm had 65,000 employees and 18,000 agents. February 2014 figures show the group servicing 80 million policies in the United States and Canada, of which over 44,000,000 are for automobiles, 27,000,000 are for fire, 7,000,000 for life, and more than 2 million bank accounts.

Philip Fernandes graduated from the University Of Southern California (USC) with a business degree with emphasis on Investments and Financial Markets. After graduating he became a manager of an entertainment tour company, where he had the chance to develop his passion for helping and developing others. Years later Philip jumped into Real Estate where even at the low of the market he was able to find the best deals for his clients and make sure they were able to keep and stay in their homes. Philip’s passion for helping people didn’t stop there. When the need for insurance came into his personal life he noticed that most companies would give him the run around due to the fact he wasn’t sure how insurance works.

In January of 2014 he decided to look further into the State Farm family, with the decision made by him and his wife to move forward knowing that with the backing of a great company and his passion to help others they would be able to change more people’s lives.
