Sound Waves

This Place is horrible. I made the mistake of having them install a radio in my car. I completely wasted my money and time. It stopped functioning in a few days and I got it fixed at a different store. The service sucks and the people are rude. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY AT THIS PLACE!!!

This car stereo/​car alarm business is a joke! I had a crimestopper alarm installed in my honda civic a couple years ago and have had to go back to this place several times. The first 5 times was due to the alarm malfunctioning. One of the last times they even had to replace the alarm system. The most recent time i went back (which was like a week ago) was due to the car alarm overriding the ignition kill. I would be driving the car then it would suddenly stall. The check engine light would go on and the car wouldn’t start until some relay (which was related to the alarm being installed either incorrectly or perhaps another faulty alarm) would reset itself., then the car could be restarted. The owner that was running the place a couple years ago is no longer there. I recognized the guy who worked on it last (one of the installers) and told him what the problem was. He then promised he could fix the faulty relay switches and the car would be running properly again. I left the car with them for about an hour and a half and went back to pick it up. He then reconfirmed that there were a couple of relay switched that needed to be replaced and that he wouldn’t charge me anything for labor and that i just needed to pay them for replacing the relays which ran me around $ 50. I was very happy at this point since the car had been doing this for about 6 months off and on. I took the car for a test drive and it seemed to run fine for about a week. One week later the car is doing the same thing and stalls while driving. Almost everytime i had gone to this place they gave me the runaround telling me (oh, your car will be done soon. just give us another hour to work on it). For anyone who is thinking about getting a new car stereo or alarm installed. DO NOT GO TO SOUND WAVES IN VAN NUYS!!! These guys are con artists and i have spoke with others that have experienced the same poor quality of work that was done to their cars. I have even read reviews online of the horror stories about SOUND WAVES IN VAN NUYS. If i could give a minus star rating i would give them a minus 5 stars.
