Won’s coffee shop is once again opened. It is now under new management. In a previous post I said Lisa took over control of the business. That was false data. She is again waitressing, but not an owner. Under new management, a new cook, but the rest of the employees are the same friendly people we all know. The food is mostly the same, but like I said, new cook. They are a bit skimpy on the meat in the Chow Mein, but otherwise it’s pretty much the same. I will miss Tiffany and family, but it is what it is. Good luck to the new«Hong Kong» restaurant .

When I read that Won’s had reopened as Hong Kong Diner, I literally dropped everything I was doing and drove over to Van Nuys to see for myself. Yes, new sign and new menus and some freshening up of the place. I am not exactly sure what they dropped off the old menus, but the new ones seemed to have everything I wanted. I don’t know the exact story on what went down when it closed, but Lisa will always be a Saint in my eyes for taking over! I posted a picture of the new signage. And they are open until 830pm now. Still closed on Sundays.

Wons has reopened as Hong Kong diner. One of the waitresses has reopened the restaurant. I missed my chicken noodle soup and it did not disappoint.

I feel terrible reading about the closure. It sounds as if they need help if there is a catastrophic illness. Is there a FundMe or Kickstarter project for this family?

Just called to place an order and got a recording saying the number changed. Very odd after all these years. I called the new number and was greeted by another recording saying that Won’s is CLOSEDINDEFINITELY due to family illness. I loved Won’s and will miss it very much.

Great place to eat well, I have been coming here since 1986.(DWP) The staff and owners are very accommodating. I also in introduced my daughter and granddaughters to their wonderful food. I’m sorry they are closed. I’m wishing the best for them. Hope they come back!!!

It is with sad news that the family that has owned Won’s for over 35 years has decided to close the restaurant and not reopen, due to a family illness. They thank all their loyal customers for the support shown them through the years, and wish us all a full, happy and healthy life. I will personally miss walking in and getting a big hug from Thuy, who always asked about my family and friends. Seeing familiar faces with unknown names. Laughing with the staff, who always had a smile and always remembered your name. Some people and places will never be forgotten…

First time here, we found it on Unilocal.I give the food a 7 it’s good home made food, the shrimp fried rice is okay… My husband ordered the Kung pao chicken and he gave it a 9… However I give the service a 2… This lady needs to smile and make people feel more welcomed… I felt awkward the entire time.

Cute place for lunch, feels cozy but I have never been here. I ordered the fried rice with beef and chow mein and egg rolls! The total was under $ 9.00

Been going to this place for over 15 years. Their food is delicious! Yes, it’s a little hole in the wall but it’s super clean. Even family from out of town looks forward to take out. Note: this is not a 5 star restaurant. It’s a small, humble place. Wor Won ton soup is my favorite !!

Food: Amazing. Great portions and egg rolls that are greasy, tasty and can’t be beat! Service: classic coffee shop style Price: good for what you get. Atmosphere: let’s just say take out might be a better choice. I would deduct one star for atmosphere however the food makes up for it.:)

For a hole, it’s clean, the coffee stays fresh, and it’s pretty steady the whole day. I haven’t eaten the chinese food, but I’m planning on getting some to go, next time I’m in the area, because my man would love it, and the portions could a feed a family of five. Seriously, I haven’t seen a small portion the couple of times I’ve been in. And it smells sooooo good. I got eggs and an english muffin for breakfast, and it was cooked perfectly and delicious. Appropriately priced. The waitresses are nice, and may be easily distracted. I don’t mind. I don’t need someone to kiss my ass the whole time, just make sure I’m taken care of, and these ladies always have. I’m def happy I stopped in.

Gotta love the this place its cheap the food is good! Could use a coat of paint and a new W on the sign but what the hell it’s a dive. Oh ya you can sell some plasma across street then go to the collective next store for some buds.

Talk about your old school favorites. I can’t believe this place has stood the test of time. A great little coffee shop just off of Van Nuys Blvd. If you love Cantonese style cooking, you’ll like this place. Beef Chow Mein and Sweet and Sour Pork is always a favorite. Stop by the next time you’re in the valley.
