I needed a bike tune up and was quoted $ 70. It turned out to be $ 120. That’s a $ 50 variance. When I asked how we got from 70 to 120 the owner, Larry, resisted but eventually described the parts he used. I’d be skeptical of future quotes. The worse part of the experience was interacting with him. He didn’t offer any tips for maintaining the bike. He was not friendly or grateful. He did not thank me for the work. I will not do business again with Bad Boyz Bicycles. P. S. Customer service fact: 68% of customers quit doing business with a firm because of an attitude of indifference.

Larry is no longer working out of his garage, he has a pretty dissent bike shop that is now located on the north side of his property. Bad Boyz Bikes has been around a long time and they know their stuff. The owner is also a rider himself, which is great because he was able to give me lots of great ideas on places to ride in the area that I didn’t know about. Talking to Larry you can tell that he knows what he is doing and he loves what he does. Price was pretty reasonable. He may not have the biggest selection but he can order anything and get it in for you no problem. Brandon

I went here to have him work on something unrelated to bikes, but used a similar braking system. I was grateful he was able to help me with it with such short notice. He was able to give me a turn around of 2 hours. I have brought my mountain bike to him when he was at the 192nd location, and will continue to use him in the future.

First of all let me start by saying this is a shop out of some dudes Garage in a small little neighborhood. I went to have him put on a chain, he told me two days… «WTF2 days to put on a chain??» no wonder he is still working out of his garage… When i showed up he was too busy running around his yard calling for his dog. my kids run a better lemon-aid stand… stay away!!!

Bad Boyz gave up their store in the strip mall at 192nd and 34th because the rent went up too much. But they didn’t move far and the owner has everything from his store now in his oversize garage, remodeled to fit his business. New location is 19002 S.E. 15th St. Easy to find, north side of 15th St just west of 192nd, a private drive, first house on the left and you’re there, or call for directions. While he does a bit of boards(snow and skate), bicycles are his thing and he knows them well. Full service, including racing bikes, frame straightening, wheels and overhauls. He has a selection of good quality used bikes for sale, maybe some new ones, too. He also stocks a good selection of parts for street, mountain and BMX bikes. So far I only gave it three stars because(a) I’m a tough grader and(b) I haven’t shopped there much… yet. But what I did get was a bargain, his service was excellent and friendly, and I will definitely take my business there again. East Vancouver needs a good bicycle shop and I’ll support Bad Boyz as the best there is around these parts. Feb 2012 — I’ve bumped up my rating to four stars; he really knows bikes. He replaced a bottom bracket for me and had some really nice bar tape in stock. He’d probably have to grow his biz a bit more for me to go five stars in the«Local Bike Shop» category… but he’s close.
