I struggle with Ichi quite a bit. I just feel that most of the things that they charge for are quite tedious and that the service is kinda lame. That being said, their food deserves a four star at least. I just find it kinda lame that they charge extra for tiny things of sauce, but hardly put any sauce on their chicken in the first place. I also always feel like I’m being rushed by the people who work there, except there’s no one behind me like ever, so what’s the point of trying to rush me? I don’t know, I’m pretty picky when it comes to Asian restaurants, so I might be being a tiny bit hard on them, but Ichi is on the bottom of the list of Asian places I want to go most of the time. TL;DR: Good food with some not so good service, as well as tedious charges.

Stopped in late. Had the beef yaki soba which was really quite good. It had a decent mix Of fresh vegetables and just enough tender steak to compliment everything else. The food is variable here in terms of what’s best to order. It’s not perfect but for something other than a burger it’s decent and is priced fairly reaonably for what you get.

Love the Teriyaki. Eat there every week. Yakisoba noodles and Teriyaki chicken are the best! Not a huge fan of the Orange Chicken.

I hardly ever post negative reviews but I felt I needed to today. Maybe they had a change in ownership or management but the food we ordered was wrong and not very good. Ordered Prawn tempura, we got some breaded shrimp and rice, not tempura at all and not prawns. My yaki soba noodles looked like angel hair pasta, very thin and bland, again not right at all. Very disappointed.

As with a couple of other reviews too much salt/soy. Had the yakisoba with chicken, pre cooked(dark meat) and over cooked. The Goyza was good as was the egg drop soup. The saracha was watered down, tables were dirty and bathroom needed attention.

I like Ichi. Always constant. Always tasty. And always large portions. Very good for a neighborhood teriyaki shop.

Great place to stop by to grab lunch! I love their egg soup(they add small chunks of potato into it!) Usually a short line will be forming so make sure to know ahead of time what you want to order. The prices are a little bit higher than the other Ichi Teriyaki joints I’ve been to. I wish they had some sort of deal for popular lunch specials.

I absolutely love this place. The food is always delicious, great large portions, and their free soup is awesome. The staff is always super friendly. I can really say I don’t have any complaints. I’ll continue going back here as long as I can.

I have recently discovered this little place and it’s down right goodness just recently, I mean I’ve lived less than 5 miles away from them and always went to the Safeway next door. My mom and I where super hungry at 7 at night so we decided to dive into it. I know it’s kind of a chain restaurant but it is amazing! The flavors are wonderful and you can hear them chopping up your freshly cooked meat in the back! While you are waiting for your meal(if you’re dining in) you can help yourself to free egg flower soup! And oh my gosh it’s very good, not too salty or eggy, just perfect. The lady brings your food to you and the plate looks saucy sloppy which is a simple fix with a napkin ran along the sides but who really cares? As long as you get great food for a great price! I cared because I am going to school to become a chef and it just got to me like it would any chef. I always see the lady who works as the cashier walk down a few doors to Safeway to get some more ingredients so I know it’s super fresh! The salad dressing they use to put on your salad is SOREFRESHING in between juicy and flavorful bites of teriyaki! it’s really great and very clean other than a saucy plate and it was all nice and hot and freshly cooked. Defiantly going there again!

I love Ichi 20 Teriyaki! The first time I went there I was kind of nervous because I’m a picky eater. The first time I was there I ordered the chicken and beef plate I think, and loved it. I’m not really a fan of the chicken there but the rest is amazing! I’ve ate there a ton of times and loved every meal. I absolutely love the short ribs and gyoza one. I love it there, and I will always love it.

Summing up this place in three words: Too Much Salt I like salt. It’s probably negatively contributing to my blood pressure. Still… Too Much Salt. There are some good things though. I came in for lunch and food was delivered very quickly. I didn’t even make it through a cup of Egg Flower Soup(free if you dine in) before my lunch arrived. The Teriyaki Chicken and Gyoza combo was a generous portion. I was able to save half for lunch the next day. However, back to the salt issue. The gyoza was too salty, the sauce for the gyoza was too salty, and the teriyaki chicken was too salty. Also, the salad add too much dressing on it. Worth a try… maybe it will be less salty for you.

Good but pricey. My go to for teriyaki. Has good combos. Is family owned and the owners are friendly.

Oh how I love this place, one of the reasons I dread moving to a different part of Vancouver. I split the teriyaki/katsu plate with my bf and it was DELICIOUS! The sauce that comes with the katsu is like a sweet ketchup and I couldn’t get enough it. Also, how could anyone give this place less than 4 stars when they have FREE egg flower soup while you wait! I’ll definitely be coming back!

Had the c-1 like previous rating said to order, tastes like any other fast food teriyaki. Healthier choice than McDonalds though!

Came this evening with my husband, father in-law, and mother in-law my in-laws highly recommended this place saying how good the food was and all I could think was«god…it’s going to be like panda express» lol, so my husband and I meet them at the restaurant it’s kind of small but has enough room to seat about 40 people or more. My first impressed part was I noticed the crock pot that said ‘Free Soup’ that impressed both my husband and I because we have never gone to a restaurant that had free soup, we looked at the menu and my husband chose a plate I really don’t know what but I posted pictures of everyone’s plates with the letter and number. I ordered C-1 it had chicken, pork, and potstickers and came with a salad and two scoops of white rice, when I recieved my food it looked delicious and since I don’t have a sense of smell I can’t tell you what it smelled like but I have a sense of taste and the first thing I tried was a potsticker it had been fried but not overly so it was still tender but had a nice crispness, the flavors were yummy and I wanted more of those, my next try was the pork it wasn’t overly cooked was tender and had the right amount of seasoning, the same was for the chicken the meat was nicely cut up and layed on the plate and was very delicious. I ate my salad and the sauce was peculiar at first until my mother in-law said it tasted like they made a miracle whip sauce and I had to agree that’s why it tasted peculiar to me lol, but it was good. They give you a huge dish of food and I got full, so I brought home my rice and some of my pork and chicken. I have to say that my earlier thought was wrong, this place is nothing like Panda Express it is so much better and if people don’t try it their missing out on a really good place to eat I am giving them the full 5 stars, the food and service were excellent!!:-)

Arrived during peak dinner time to place one order. They were out of brown rice and didn’t appear to be making more — yet there are two hours till they close and a line of customers. They told me that it would be 20 minutes to make more if I wanted it. Yes, I cannot have white rice. 43 minutes later I left with my food. No apology, coupon, or comped meal. This isn’t the first time there hasn’t been rice available during peak times. Poor customer service and they should prepare food in advance. Only Teriyaki place near to us, but I will go out of my way to go somewhere else.
