I’m glad you are enjoying this art school. The owner must have read my review and decided to improve her behavior, which is necessary to stay in business. My experience is that she tried to charge me for classes when my four free classes were not all received. She incorrectly assumed I was going to continue classes after the initial 4. She was not a good listener when I tried to talk to her. Classes were interrupted by my vacation, which she was notified in writing ahead of time but she chose to ignore. This is very dishonest behavior and I was surprised and disappointed to see this. I did not feel treated with respect. I can’t recommend to other parents based on my initial experience. First impressions are very important.

My daughter has been attending Medallion for about 2 years now. The progress she has made mot only artistically but developmentally is superb. It’s a great place for her to relax, focus and gain confidence. All while making fantastic art that I couldn’t be happier to frame!
The teachers are wonderful, patient, kind and just great at teaching.
And Bob, the owner, has to be one of the sweetest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. Always smiling and friendly. Love love love this place!

What an incredible learning experience! I have been attending Medallion for over 7 years. Art class is bonding time with my mum, we have three classes a week, it is kind of an addiction. They are extremely flexible, although they would prefer you call in advance to cancel a class, it is not the end of the world if you don’t. It is a family friendly business, I have come to know the owners as they often work the front desk, and give tours. Oksana Oakes is my teacher, I recommend her 100%. She works very well with the younger students as well as the older, and myself being 17. I have won multiple awards in art shows, last year I won best of show in the Clark County Fair, the youngest ever to be awarded. They give opportunities to be put in art galleries, in the down town Gallery 360, and at the library. It is an amazing opportunity, I urge everyone to try them out!

I’m a public school art teacher who admired the amazing artwork displayed by Medallion’s students each year at the fair. I stopped in to investigate how they were able to produce such consistently quality work from their young students. I found small classes which allow for personalized attention, quality supplies, well lit and comfortable studios as well as qualified instructors who assess students abilities and plan accordingly. I decided I could brush up on my skills and enrolled in a weekly class after receiving a gift certificate from friends. There was no problem using my certificate, I learned if I missed a class I’d have the opportunity to make it up at a later date and when my gifted classes ran out I began paying…8 months later not only has my art improved but so has my attitude as I take time to do something I enjoy. The classes are a great value! As far as the parking lot… a prudent parent may want to park the car and walk their child into the facility. There is street parking when the lot is full.

This is a great place to learn art. They have a set beginners’ program which takes you through skills you need later and you also learn how to draw different types of subjects as well. The class sizes are small and the teachers give equal time to students. Ages and ability are all over the board. Every teacher has their own style so you can find one who matches what you like.
The makeups are flexible, if you miss you can make up a class with any teacher, any day as long as there is room. It works particularly well if you know in advance due to a conflict or illness that you can’t make a class so they can fill your space. You also have a year to make up the class.
They buy in bulk so the supplies they have there are competitively priced; it is also extremely convenient.
I’ve never experienced any issue with customer service. Everyone has always been friendly and helpful.
Regarding the parking lot, when my son was attending, I always got there a little early and dropped him off at the sidewalk in the cul-​de-​sac or I used the parking lot. I realize that the driveway is steep so that not everyone wants to use it. But there is plenty of parking in the street as well; I’ve done that and used the sidewalk to get to the door. Few people actually hang out and wait so there isn’t a need for a bigger lot.
I highly recommend this school for those of you who want to learn art and explore ways to be creative.

Two years ago, I couldn’t paint or use charcoal but decided to try this school as a way to enhance my photography printing. To my surprise, I found my inner creative self and now I’m oil painting and enjoying myself! The class sizes are small, about a dozen in my class, with students ranging in age from 8 years to over 80. My particular class has a variety of skill levels and media as well, with some people working with pastels or watercolor while others use pencil or oil paints. We’re all working on different projects. A lot of the people attending the school are home-​schooled children who have been attending for years, and the kids love it. I know there are classes just for small children too, as well as an «art camp» in the Summer.
My instructor, Oksana, is a very skilled artist and a great teacher. As an adult, I was afraid of getting a critical teacher, but Oksana has been very supportive while helping me develop my skills (which were non-​existent to begin with but much better now).
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I signed up. I thought there might be a lot of theories and lectures and boring exercises before I could do my own projects; I just wanted to convert my photographic images into oil paintings. As it turned out, after some very basic exercises to assess my skills, I was allowed to transition to oil paints fairly quickly and I couldn’t be happier because I’m working on my own visions.
The facility occupies a two-​story building, located at the end of a court. Yes, the parking lot is small, but there’s a short sidewalk directly from the court to the front door, plus plenty of street parking and I’ve never had any problem finding a place to park my car.
Medallion Art does sell art supplies to the students, or you can bring your own in. It’s nice to know that if I run out of a critical supply in the middle of a project, I can just get some from the school and that I have the option of getting it from an art/​craft store if I choose.
I would highly recommend this school for adults like me, who want to get some practical experience with art, as well as for parents who want their children to explore their creative side. Experience with art creates the ability to appreciate beauty.

My daughter attends this art school, she has for over a year. She really enjoys going to class each week and has learned many new skills for drawing.
I am giving it only two stars due to their horrible parking situation. The parking lot does not even come close to accommodating the number of children getting dropped off for class in the evenings. I find it very dangerous to drop off and pick up your child. They really need to do something about this before someone gets hurt.

I’ve been attending this art school for more than ten years, and I’ve never had a bad experience… The teachers are helpful and guide you through what you’re working on but give you the creative control you want. Judi is great, she’s taught me amazing technical skills over the years and I couldn’t be happier with how far I’ve come and how much I’m still approving. The whole staff is friendly and helpful, even when they’re busy. I’d recommend Medallion to anyone interested in art.
