People’s Community Credit Union

I love People’s Credit Union! I’ve been a member for 20 years and couldn’t imagine banking anywhere else. The service is personal and friendly. I’m not just a number when I walk into one of the branches. If you’re looking for a place to do your banking, check out People’s!

When I called to find out about opening an account the woman on the phone was so abrasive and made the process difficult to the point where I had to tell her «if you really don’t want my business I’ll go elsewhere.» The girl Janalyn at the front desk was really sweet, and the only reason I stayed to open an account. If I was going to use this checking to bank regularly I wouldn’t have opened it, but I just need a place to deposit cash because I work on tips. They also charge an administrative fee of $ 20 just to open with them, which I’ve never heard of before. I’ve had more pleasant experiences since opening the account. Most of the staff remembers your name and face when you’re in. Not open on Saturday.

As soon as I walked in the energy was bad. The entire time I was there I don’t think I saw one smile on anyone’s face. I had higher expectations for a credit union.

I have been a member of people’s cu for 15 plus years. I will say the customer service is top notch. I have gotten great help in office and on the phone even when I while over seas in Iraq. I will not do business with any other financial institute

I do not personally bank here, and for good reason. The tellers have literally no customer service skills — you always feel like you’re imposing on their day by driving thru. I’ve had to go multiple times to deposit money into a family members account and the date on the window is always wrong. They are obviously not very organized I wouldn’t trust them with my money.
I told my family member I will not be depositing through this bank for her because I do not need to be treated poorly while doing her a favor.
They should put their employees through a customer service class or hire people who actually have welcoming attitudes.
If you check the «not recommended» reviews everyone else agrees they have horrible customer service. They need to clean house or shut down.

A poor excuse of a credit union. No flexibility and zero care for customers. Our irritation began 3 years ago after People’s began charging us $ 3 transfers between checking and savings without warning us (they had been doing it for free for years even though they were technically supposed to charge $ 3); a heads-​up to your loyal customers would have been nice that you would suddenly begin enforcing this «rule.» Didn’t matter to the woman on the phone, though!
Then the final straw: getting charged an irreversible overdraft fee even though we had money in savings, which we couldn’t transfer anymore due to having maxed out our 6 transfers per month, or so I was told by the less-​than-​sweet woman I spoke to on the phone who really didn’t seem to care. Real people? Flexibility? Forget it! Never have we been made to feel that People’s actually cares about us as individuals as much as our money. And we have not only had checking and savings accounts with them for more than 7 years, but also a line of credit and auto loan.
Good thing we found Unitus Community Credit Union, who does not charge for transfers between savings and checking. What a concept! Just wanted to give them the courtesy of an advance notice that this will be our last week with People’s Community Credit Union as we will be taking our money and business to Unitus. We will also be refinancing our auto loan elsewhere.
The 1 star is solely for having a drive thru teller.

My husband and I searched around the Vancouver area for a trustworthy credit union and stumbled upon People’s Community Credit Union. We have had them for almost a year now and couldn’t be more pleased. The drive thru teller is amazing. She knows me by name the moment I pull up. I have and will continue to recommended them to everyone!
