Spoiled Spa and Salon

I went here for a wash and blow out and came out with tight curls. I told the hair stylist what I wanted, which was a simple blow out with wavy curls. How did my whole head end up with tight curls? If you cannot envision what I want then you are not a good hairstylist. The party I was with was happy with their updos, but my simple wash and blow out was a disaster. Don’t get me wrong, my hair came out beautiful, but it’s not what I wanted. I really wanted something simple so I wouldn’t upstage the host of the party!

Spoiled’s non transferrable deposit policy lacks compassion for clients’ safety. My group of 8 have learned our lesson.
I’ve been going to Spoiled for the past 4 years for nails, facials, and massages. I wanted to treat my wedding party (all 8 of us girls) to a relaxing day before my wedding. However, icy snow fell that Sunday morning Jan 3^rd. We all live in SE Portland and Beaverton and Tigard area, feeling so bummed, I called in and also texted before our 9:30am appointment, letting Spoiled know we couldn’t make it out the driveway let alone across the bridge to Vancouver. The female receptionist told me that in cases like this, they would transfer my deposit over another day. I was so thankful and accepted her offer. The week after my wedding, I called n rsvp for another day, another female receptionist took my rsvp down and asked for another deposit because my snowy day deposit of nearly $ 200 was forfeited. She also accused me of making up the transfer deposit, and a policy is a policy. I told her the policy lacks compassion for guests and their safety on such unfortunate weather.
A policy is a policy she said. April the owner agreed with her employee and stood by their policy too.
To me, safety was the utmost importance. I won’t let my guests who I invited for a massage drive in such icy weather. Spoiled Spa is such a disappointment. Sometimes it shouldn’t be all about business and money, sometimes it can be about clients safety.

This was my 1^st time going to this salon and I went in for a Brazilian and Brow wax with Libby. The gals at the front were friendly, helpful, and made checking in/​out easy. My wax experience was awesome! Libby was absolutely wonderful! She was friendly, didn’t make it awkward or uncomfortable (and I’ve been getting Brazilians for about a decade now and I’ve had some pretty horrific, awkward encounters) She was great to work with. She’s new to the salon but you can tell she’s definitely not new to waxing. I’d for sure recommend her for Brazilians and Brows… and my guess is if she’s got those services down, she’s probably pretty amazing at other waxing services as well (because lets face it, those are some of the most difficult ones). I will definitely be returning!

Still 5 stars for Brice in the hair salon. I have been back to see him, and have sent friends and my daughter, who all loved him just as much as I did.
This update is for the second time I tried getting my nails done (with Manika this time). It is clearly a product issue. Whatever product they are using simply will not work for me. The second set did exactly the same thing the first one did, it just lasted a couple days longer (6 total days, to be exact. The first set lasted just under 2 days). They only use that particular brand of powder, so this will not be something I return for in the future. I did receive a call from someone after my second visit regarding the product and my bad experience. She asked me to email some photos, which I did. I then responded to the email again a week later and got no response, nor did anyone get in touch with me from that point on regarding the nails issue.

I have taken my daughter here for up-do’s, make-​up and pedicures. Easy to make appointments. Everyone is always very nice. The pedicures are in a room with 4 large sofa chairs facing each other. I wish the water was warmer/​hotter and more massage! It can be a little awkward if it is just 1 or 2 of you because of the way it is set up. However, it is a really cool system as well. I have been here for massages and facials as well. Amazing. Prices are okay and they tend to push product and give out certificates for further services but that’s a great way to market and get business so that’s ok. :) They are located in a kind of funky, low-​key area. Good that is is hidden, not such a pretty area though.

PLEASE DON’T GO TO THIS PLACE EVER. I haven’t gotten my hair dyed for two years and was looking for a good change. I read about all good reviews, but during my arrival. It took me a hour and half discussing about what to do with my hair. The stylist wasn’t confident enough and sent me to another stylist. Then finally got my hair dyed, and during shampooing, i was told that I’d have to pay for another session since it was not successful. WHAT? I kept get sent to talk to different stylists and got different information every time. Boss told stylist to fix my hair since I showed up next time complaining about how embarrassed I feel with my hair since Im having a family picture coming up. I showed other day to get it fixed, but stylist wasnt willing until I pay for other sessions. The manager/​boss is so mean. They dont care about your satisfaction, but money. I stayed total 9 hours just for nothing. they cost $ 281 for just dying and trim my hair… oh no. dont even bother to go there. TRUST ME ON THAT! this is worse place EVER!

A group of 14 girls came into spoiled spa today. They did a good job of taking such a large group. The place is clean and cute, and theres even a little hang out area with a fireplace and comfy chairs for us to wait for our services. We got to wear robes and a complimentary glass of wine. My massage therapist was teresa and she a fantastic job! I also got a pedicure from monica who did an awesome job! Overall great experience and would recommend it to anyone especially if its for a bridal shower or fun girls day!

My 5 stars go to Dawn for my full-​body massage! I was visiting from out of town, I was referred to Dawn by my hopefully future daughter in law, and it was the best referral. Dawn’s entire orra about her is professional, kind, and super friendly! Thank you Dawn.

My sweet baby just turned 6 months which meant it had been a little more than 6 months since my last hair cut. It was time.
I had a $ 58 dollar gift card balance for this location (I had used the previous amount on a pedicure). There were such wonderful reviews on April that I really wanted an appointment with her. However, she doesn’t work Saturdays (totally understand). But they told me there is another lady there that works very closely with her and does similar work. So I booked the appointment for 4:30 on Sat. They said cuts with her are around $ 35. They also sold me on a deep conditioning treatment — and since it was my first one it would only be $ 7.
I received a phone call that day that my apt would need to move to 5pm. Kind of bummed due to my kids nap times but we made it work.
When I arrived, the lady at the front desk was nice. She said she’d let them know I was there. To my surprise, a gentleman came to get me and brought me to the styling area. I thought maybe he was their hair washer or something since I had selected a lady at the salon. Nope. He was my stylist. He did a good job cutting my hair.
Then when I went to pay I was charged $ 57! I then also asked about the stylist I originally booked with (maybe I misunderstood and did book with him). She also had noticed this as well. She said that the girl who was supposed to do my hair was going to be much later than 5:00 and this guy had an opening so they put me with him.
So, I will not be returning to this salon. I should have been provided this information up front and been allowed to make this decision on my own. It would have at least been appropriate for them to explain this when I checked in … But nothing was said. Then was I was overcharged by $ 15!
Glad to have my hair cut but so disappointed with the experience as a whole.

I am SOOOO pleased with the results of my hair. April did an amazing job and I finally got the blonde hair I’ve been wanting!!!

April is incredible at hair. I have been going to her for about 3 years and will never ever go anywhere else! She seriously works magic. The spa/​salon itself is very clean and all the staff seem very friendly.

Not sure why Unilocal is hiding a bunch of 5 star reviews for this place. I still go here for all my hair needs. April is godlike with hair. The front staff could be better, not going to lie about that, but it’s pretty good for a local start up. April has done my hair for about 5 years now, and I don’t even think about going to anyone/​anywhere else for that. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I haven’t tried any other services except for their hair cutting/​styling constantly. I have had my brows waxed there, which was also very great. Each of my brows grow differently than the other and one is alittle more difficult to tame, but whoever does them (I don’t have a particular one for this) notices pretty quickly and they spend a good deal of time making sure you like what they do and try to give you exactly what you want.
Go read the hidden reviews for this place (located at the bottom here — I have no idea why Unilocal hides them…). You’ll see that they outweigh the negative ones.

April at Spoiled Spa and Salon has been doing my hair now for 6? years. I won’t let anyone else touch it! She now does my mom’s hair and my best friend’s hair as well. I can’t say enough good things about her. She’s got fantastic technique and she does what YOU ask her to do, not what she thinks should be done.
April is not afraid to try new things with me, when I decide I want to cut all my hair off or color it some outrageous color, it’s one of the many things I love about her.
I will continue to patron Spoiled for years to come!

I had a wonderful relaxation massage by Dawn it was so great I’m gonna be coming here for my massages instead of my regular place in Portland. Dawn was very nice and pleasant to work with

Decided to give this place a try after getting a groupon deal. Needed to get my nails done before vacation so decided to go with the gel nails.
The gal was very nice who did my nails. The front desk person was also very friendly.
A bit disappointed my gel nails started chipping not even a week into having them. They are supposed to last 21 days?! Nope…:(Didn’t even make it two weeks before I needed to take them off because they looked bad. :(
They did have a good selection of colors. The place seems well kept and clean.
Might have to try a different salon next time after paying $ 50+ for nails and didn’t even last that long. :(

Had a gift certificate — wanted to be quietly pampered, but most of the professionals were peddling either products or trying to advise me to either book for an extended time facial or upgrade my manicure. Was semi relaxed until my hair stylist did a horrible job– even with a picture and details I ended up with the back of my hair straight and the front sort of curled-​it was such a mess I needed to go straight home and try to fix it! Their one saving grace– they offered me to come back free of charge and have my hair styled with another stylist… it was a good call on their part, and my hair turned out nice, but in retrospect I will not come back to this day spa.

Bought a groupon, wish I hadn’t. Called three times to make an appointment. First time left on hold for 15 min, the second I left a message during business hours and didn’t get a call back until the next day, third time made an appointment but the person put it down for the wrong day. Maybe they are just incredibly busy, but frankly I am too busy to deal with a business that can’t their scheduling straight. From the looks of the other reviews… it looks like I am not missing out on much.

I really am a fan of this place. I’m here every other week getting my nails done by Lenzi who is an expert at what she does, professional, friendly and fun to hang out with for an hour or so.
The place is clean and the other staff is friendly and professional as well. I will have to try the other services here at some point. I’d recommend a Spoiling here.

Unfortunately the worst massage I have ever had. I was looking forward to the massage being great and the possibility of an inexperienced front desk staff after reading reviews BEFORE I bought this groupon! Not the case.
They must have a lot of turn over here.
The front desk gal was young but professional. My masseuse on the other hand was young and unprofessional at the desk. She stood there and talked with the other girl who was trying to work incessantly about her personal life every time I was in the waiting room (my groupon was for 3 treatments) for all to hear. First before she came to get me, imagine my surprise that she was the one going to give me a massage. Awkward. She was nice but seemed very inexperienced and it ended up to be terrible. I feel like I have bruises on my body and have more pain now than before I went in. WTH?
I had a great experience with my manicure but not enough to go back to this place. Its a shame because the place is beautiful and clean but the staff all seem to be very green but unfortunately the level of expertise lacks. This was definitely not a true spa experience.

Armed with a Groupon for a Brazilian and underarm wax, I went to Spoiled Spa and Salon. I am fairly new to the waxing scene and have only been to one other studio.
My esthetician was Deann was very pleasant, though a bit out of sorts, saying she had just moved from one room to another and had not yet gotten her things in order.
The first thing that was strange was the table I was to lay on put me in position so when she came back in after I was on the table, my bareness was exposed to anyone who might have happened to be in the hallway. She noted this and said she would have to change the position of the table. Luckily, no one was in the hall.
But the most important thing is the results. Disastrous is the best I can come up with. After a good 45 mins on the table (and that was just for the Brazilian as my underarm hair was not long enough to wax) I was left with lots of hair and wax still stuck in it! For real! I wanted to complain and have her fix it but in truth, I just wanted out of there. I could not believe that anyone would let a client leave like that.
To their credit, they did offer to have me come back to get the rest of the Groupon ‘deal’ for my underarms. But I will not be returning.
When I left the salon, I immediately (meaning in the parking lot!) made an appointment for the same day with the woman I have been seeing. She is fabulous (Anna at Bare Down There)!! I was in and out in less than 15 minutes, hair and wax free.
Never again will I stray from Anna and I thank her so very much for repairing the hack job that was done at Spoiled Spa and Salon.
I think Deann was very nice but seriously think she should get more training or consider a new career direction. She told me she had been doing waxing for 3 years (!!!).
