Stanford Cleaners 2

I normally go to this place because they have good results with things that I need to get tailored, however they have horrible service. Their hours are NO WHERE to be found online and then when you try to call to figure out their hours NO ONE ever answers the phone and they apparently don’t have an answering service so the phone just keeps on ringing and ringing. I have gone there several times to get something tailored and the seamstress is NEVER there, even when I am told she will be there she is no where to be found. This is just silly. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere from now on. HORRIBLE service.

Had to have a Santa suit cleaned for a special event this Friday. Stanford’s said they would have it ready Thursday. Went in today to pick up only to find the owner put a note on it saying they couldn’t clean it. Not even a phone call to explain the problem and give me time to find a place that would clean it. I have no idea why they wouldn’t or couldn’t do their job. The employee I spoke with had no idea what the problem was or why we weren’t called. I drove to another dry cleaners who says they do them all the time. Christmas has been saved but not by this place. Stanford’s lack of customer service could have created real problems for hundreds of kids this weekend. How difficult is a phone call?

DO NOT spend your money here. If they mess up and ruin your clothing they will not do anything about it. They’ll tell you it was your fault or the fabric on the clothing was bad. I brought in my $ 50 tie from Nordstrom. I came back to pick it up and it was all frayed out. I didn’t notice it till I got to work, because I was in a hurry to get out of there since they had me wait because my stuff wasn’t ready when I came in to pick it up.
I came back in the next day to tell them about my tie and the employee girl told me to leave the tie with her and she would have the manager call me. A week went by and I never got a call so I went in again. She said sorry, I just heard about it yesterday. And then couldn’t find my tie, she said her husband must have taken it to dry clean it again and told me to come back the next day. I came back 2 days later and she had the tie and told me it was there the whole time and he never dry cleaned it again and the girl employee is inexperienced and didn’t know what she was talking about.
Then she told me that it was my fault the tie was all frayed out because of the way I wore it. These people know NOTHING about customer service, and then blame you if they ruin your clothing. I will not be going back there again even though they are only 3 blocks from my house. I rather travel further to get better quality dry cleaning and service.

On 3÷5÷2011 I dropped of 10 dress shirts at Stanford Dry cleaners. They were to be laundered and pressed. This is the Mill Plain Location but I believe they are all owned by the same person (Mr Kim)
I picked them up on 3÷12÷2011. When I got home I realized wrinkles were heavily ironed into shoulders three of the shirts. I returned to Stanford Cleaners the next day and and pointed out the wrinkles. The employee said they would re-​do those three shirts. I returned again on 3÷19÷2011 to pick up on the re ironed shirts. They were still wrinkled. The employee said I could pay more to have them hand ironed. The machine they used to iron shirts was not working on these shirts. I said I did not want to pay more and asked if there were any other option. The employee said I would have to speak to the owner (Mr Kim). I left the employee with my number and asked that the Mr. Kim call me. Mr Kim never called me so I returned to Stanford Cleaners for a third time on evening of 3÷22÷2011. I asked for a refund for the three shirts. The employee stated she could not do that only the owner could. I told her I had asked that Mr Kim call me and he had not. She suggested I call him. I asked for and she provided a phone number to contact him. I attempted to contact him while still on site at the dry cleaner. This number was to another location. Mr Kim was not available. and the person who answered the phone said Mr Kim was in randomly and could not give me a specific time to reach him. I explained to him that I was seeking a solution or a refund for the three shirts. He stated Mr Kim is the only one who can do that. I expressed my frustration that Mr Kim was neither available for me to call and would not call me back. During this time. The employee at the location I was physically at. picked up a phone and dialed a number to call Mr Kim directly. She said to him that the customer with the three shirts was here and wanted to speak to him.
I was handed the phone and Mr Kim explained that he did the best he could but that the design of the shirt prevents him from ironing them properly. I told him that I understand. I asked for a refund of the three shirts as I would have to go home and Iron the shirts. Mr Km said «No». I explained I thought it was reasonable to expect that a dress shirt brought to the dry cleaners wold not need t be ironed before it could be worn. further, it would have been his responsibility to inform he he was unable to properly iron those type of shirts (this could have happened on the first or the second time I brought them in). I asked him to please be reasonable. it’s not really the point of the money. They are less that $ 2.00 per shirt. It’s really that I should not have to pay for a service I did not receive. Mr Kim said he did the best he could and would not refund the money for the three shirts.
Mr Kim’s demeanor and tone on the phone was harsh and dismissive. Was harsh and. it was obvious he was not in the least concerned about providing service, being fair or having me as a customer. This was my first (and last) experience with this business.
