Taste of India Grocery Store

Very good variety of foods, from fresh to frozen and pre-​packaged. Also the usual row of bulk beans and flours of all kinds.
The fresh food this week include small Indian eggplants, fresh fenugreek, and bags of peeled garlics as well as those lovely green Indian melons and bitter melons.
The spices are a little under-​represented, but more than adequate for any usual needs. And they have ayurvedic spices and supplies, for those who are into it.
I just discovered that the first row from the door has a great selection of pre-​packaged soups and single serving vegetarian dishes — sambar, yum! — at very reasonable prices.
They also have a whole display case of burfees and other treats, sold by the pound and mix and match. And various Indian cooking utensils and such.
The owners are Indian and friendly, and the store is very clean — I don’t know why someone complained about that in an earlier review — I could probably eat off the floor.
I plan on going back there, at least weekly, for the foreseeable future.

They had what I was looking for. Kind of crowded and unorganized as far as the counters and products. Not very clean either– but nice folks.

When I first moved to Vancouver, I was worried that I’d have to go all the way to Beaverton just to buy Indian groceries. Thankfully, I found this place and it’s pretty close to my home!
They have a good variety of groceries and even stock my favorite yogurt, Appel Farms (which many other stores don’t). In addition to groceries, they have a selection of various Indian items – stuff for pujas, clothes, jewelry. One time I even saw a great deal on a tandoor oven.
The owners are very friendly, and I’ve come here so often, they recognize me now. In fact, as I type this, I realize I need to go there and get some spices!

Very helpful and friendly staff. I am attempting to make Aloo Gobi for the first time and there were some ingredients I wasn’t sure about. Clerk looked at my list and cheerfully took me to each part of the store to get the things I needed. Prices were very reasonable too, I will definitely be back.

I was a bit concerned when I moved from PDX to Vancouver in 2013: where will I get my paratha, urid dal, and other desi supplies? Well, I’m happy to report that I’m doing just fine. They have everything I need, and a bunch of stuff that I didn’t know I needed! Friendly owners, great selection, nice clean shop, *very* reasonable prices, and plenty of parking. Stop on in and say «namaskar»…

This indian grocery store has all of the usual staples as well as a pretty decent selection of indian-​type kitchenwares. They often have fresh indian veggies that are not available in «regular» grocery stores. The owners are very friendly which is great because we will be coming back often!

I used to frequent the store at it’s previous location, and yesterday was my first-​but certainly not last visit to the new location. This place is a gem to have in Vancouver! If it wasn’t here, I’d have to drive to Beaverton! It is spacious, fully stocked with delicious ethnic foods and it’s spotless inside! They had all of my favorites including several types of naan, samosas, sauces, paneer cheese (Mmmm) and even 3 kinds of fresh eggplant! I am so excited to be able to shop here, and the lady at the counter was super helpful with recipe tips and oh so very pleasant! What a great place, you simply must go, they are open 7 days a week too!

They are doubling in size this month. This store just keeps getting better and better. Same plaza just across the lot. They seem to have just about everything Indian you could possibly need now.
