The Gutter Guys

I needed some gutters on a new-​to-​me shop. I called a few local shops and sent out a basic bid request to a few folks on craigslist (where I found these gentleman.) The Gutter Guys responded very quickly (less than 2 hour response off hours) — far quicker than anyone else. More importantly — after the rest of the responses came in they were the best price by a good margin.
I sent a response email to schedule the work and got a quick follow up with very quick turn around time.
My schedule for the next few days was rather busy — Ben and I played a bit of phone tag but he was exceptional in returning every call I had and follow up a few times when I wasn’t available — once we finally sorted out dates we were set. The one odd to me request was they requested payment directly to their materials vendor. In the internet age this was a bit odd to me — craigslist merchant and paying a 3^rd party — I asked Ben about this and he allayed all of my fears. I called their supplier, paid on my supplies and let Ben know all was well there.
A few hours Later Ben and his partner arrive at my house and absolutely obliterate the work — I’ve never seen two guys work faster, what a site to see! They had ~100 feet of gutter and downspouts on my shop in no more than an hour. To top it off I didn’t realize when I was requesting prices that I only had drains on two corners of my shop — not the four I had expected — Not a problem — they added kickouts to the two corners without drains and all was buttoned up very nicely.
I’ve been working with a large amount of contractors as i’ve recently moved in to a new house and am doing some remodeling — I’ve had a lot of terrible interactions and a few very positive interactions — The Gutter Guys have been one of the few very positive contractors to work with.
These guys checked all the important boxes for me — very good communication and follow up, good price, & great work.
They’ll be the first place I call for gutter work in the future and I will be recommending them to anyone I know that is seeking gutter work.

I originally called Gutter Guys because they were the only ones that even hinted at their rates while I was looking at ads.
I called and left a message. A few days later, I noticed his number in my ‘missed calls’ but no voice mail or message. I called again around nine the next morning and immediately received an «I’ll call you right back» text. He didn’t actually call back until 4:45 that afternoon.
After talking for awhile, the person said they would be by around 10 the next morning. He said he would call if he was running late.
The next day, no call and no show.
I’m giving them a 2^nd star because maybe there was an emergency or something.
No one can possibly run a business and do things like this on purpose, right?
