Recipe for donut disaster –
* often there’s little to no donuts
* the blonde gal who works there couldn’t care any less
* you often suspect their day olds
* you also wonder if they are leftovers from their PDX location
* no flavor
* thrashed décor
You’ll be much better off at Donut Nook or Dots here in VXR.

The owner was nice enough but over all not a great experience. Shop is a little rough around the edges. Food seemed over priced. Donuts were not very good. I won’t be returning.

If you ever go to a bakery that doesn’t carry day-​olds then something is off. Every time I go here the donuts taste crazy stale. So I asked what was fresh-​a customer shouldn’t have to ask in the first place-​and the lady blurted out something about them being cooked overnight. Really? An oven that cooks by itself? In any case, I’ve tried enough times and the stuff just isn’t fresh so who knows how long that stuff has been sitting there. I wanted to like this place and gave it a shot.

Will not be back. Awful service, the lady who served us was too busy talking on her cell phone to pay attention to us. The doughnuts were stale and trash overflowed both trash cans. I’ll just go to safeway next time.

Ok I love donuts. This place was ehhh not great at all. I got apple fritter and maple bar. The maple bar was bland and tasted like it came from winco or something. The apple fritter was stale and boring. My girl said it kinda tasted like it was cooked in old oil.
Iv read the reviews of there shop on Alberta online and had high hopes but the shop in Vancouver did not live up to the reviews of the Alberta shop.
Not happy. We have 2 more donut here but ehhh not even appatising now.

Hit up this donut shop because I thought it would be a cool locally owned homemade donut shop and given the high ratings on Unilocal decided to give it a try.
Apperance
Place was run down and looked dirty inside and out. On top of that they had like 10 donuts in the case, which wouldn’t be an issue if they weren’t open until 9!
Service
The person working the counter was sitting at a table when we got there and lazily walked behind the counter. She could not have cared less about her job. We asked what she recommended and she just said depends on what you like.
Food
After picking between the only 3 types of donuts they had, I settled on a buttermilk maple donut. It was incredibly average. It sort of tasted like a KFC biscuit with maple frosting on it. It was also stale. I have had better donuts from Safeway.
Maybe this place would be better early in the morning, or maybe this is some sort of drug front that I am not hip enough to know about. But for my money if you are on the westside of Vancouver Dots Donuts is as good as you can get. Or venture further out for Blue Star donuts in Portland.

Trekked over here from the other side of Vancouver because I was craving donuts and coffee. It’s 2:30pm on a Friday. Late in the day for most but morning for me due to work. I arrived to about 8 donuts and zero coffee. Guys, you’re open until 9pm. What else are you going to do today? Your sign says, donuts and coffee??? If you’re going to offer up an American past time then you have to supply the product.

I fricken love this donut shop. For some dumb reason I passed them by. I had always been complaining to my wife that there aren’t enough good old school donut shops like we had in so-​cal. This place hits all the marks. Most importantly the donuts are crafted, not manufactured like some donut chains. They have french crueller which is a guilty pleasure of mine, though they are less available than standard donuts. Love the buttermilk donuts and their filled donuts have a perfect amount of filling. Don’t pass this place by like i did for years.

This place has a strange vibe. We went in twice and both times felt like we were intruding. The second time the radio was blaring a talk show in a foreign language. The place does not feel welcoming at all. The service was okay, but not friendly.
The doughnuts were decent, not the best we’ve had. The second time they seemed stale. Unfortunately we will not be back.

The best donuts I’ve found in Vancouver, period. Not too heavy or greasy, not to light or all air. They have the all the classics and I love the small business atmosphere.

There are not a lot of good doughnut options in Vancouver. Grocery store doughnuts are all … meh. There’s Krispy Kreme, but it is so sterile and corporate. If you’re a Portland kind of hipster you might like Dot Donuts on 164^th, but they are super artsy, low selection, no peripherals, no atmosphere, and unnecessarily expensive.
If you are looking for serious and unpretentious doughnuts to satisfy, the two realistic options I have found in Vancouver are the Donut Nook on the west side, and Tonallis on the east side.
Tonallis has good hours, usually a good selection available (they bake as needed during the day), and are just serious about making very good doughnuts. They also have ice cream options, with some mix-​in/​topping options that seem inspired by Cold Stone, and they have a great coffee and espresso bar — my son is a big fan.
Friends don’t let friends eat doughnuts from Safeway or Fred Meyer. Go to Tonallis and watch everyone’s eyes light up when you show up bringing your group REAL honest to goodness doughnuts that make you feel happy.

First time trying them out today. Arrived around 11:30 a.m. and the selection was a little low but still found several to try. They have French Crullers! A little greasy but would definitely try them again.

Awesome old fashioned non-​corporatized family owned donut, coffee, and ice-​cream shop!

We are fortunate to live close by this charming little doughnut shop. Once or twice a month, we buy doughnuts for a special weekend treat. Their doughnuts are all delicious, and I don’t think I’ve ever eaten one I didn’t like.
They have sugar, glazed, and chocolate twists, bars, and yeast donuts. Chocolate and vanilla glazed cake (both regular and chocolate) with and without sprinkles, chocolate and glazed old fashioned, apple fritters, bear claws, jelly filled (ok, maybe that’s the one type of doughnut I won’t eat) bavarian cream, french crullers, cinnamon rolls, doughnut holes, and I’m sure I’ve missed a few. My favorite are the french crullers, which are pretty impossible to find these days, I’m pretty sure they only make them on Saturdays and *maybe* Sundays, but oh baby! When you do get them, they are little puffy, sticky bites of heaven.
We bought 14 doughnuts and a bag of 12 doughnut holes for $ 10 even last week, and that seems about normal these days.
Everyone I’ve ever had serve me has been very nice, professional and efficient.
(I’d comment on the décor if I were there to buy a rug or artwork, but I’m only there for the food, so the food is what gets commented on.)

In southern California you can find a donut shop an almost every block. In Vancouver, WA however, its not so easy. We became fans of Tonallis when we went to their Portland shop. When we saw one here in Vancouver we knew we had to stop and check it out. The donut place is small but with a large glass display case featuring a wide variety of donuts including cake donuts, yeast, donut holes, fritters, and buttermilk bars. A variety dozen costs around $ 8.75 which isn’t too bad. The buttermilk bars here are heavenly with a light fluffy interior and a crunchy exterior enhanced with a sweet glaze. The lady behind the counter was friendly towards us the whole time and told us they would have some fresh maple and chocolate bars coming out in 10 minutes and this was around 5pm. Great quality product, friendly staff, and a cozy atmosphere equals a great donut shop! Would recommend to anyone :)

Hands down the best old fashioned doughnuts I have ever had. EVER. They have chocolate, maple, crumb, glazed and plain old fashioned, so its obvious they must be the most popular. Its a really small place and smack in the middle between a sketchy chinese restaurant in which it’s bar takes up most the real estate and a mexican restaurant that doesn’t take credit cards. With all that said, give this mom and pop place a visit.

Can a guy get a doughnut? I’m getting tired of all the stupid Food Networked «special» doughnuts, covered with fancy Peruvian hamster chocolate, or sprinkles straight from Liberace’s cape maker. I just want a doughnut, and a decent cup of coffee. Doughnuts, you know those round cake things we used to be able to eat. Well Tonallis #3 makes some pretty good ones. The shop isn’t huge, they have a good old checkered tile floor, and serve yourself coffee, but that’s what I like about the place. When I wake up in the morning with a hankerin for something sweet, I don’t want to eat clever or daring, I want a simple yummy doughnut or three. That’s why I will continue to make the 20 minute drive to Tonillis to get my morning fix.
