The Heron’s Nest offers an eclectic mix of locally-​made fine art and crafts, including paintings, prints, collages, jewelry, ceramics, woodwork, textiles, and home accessories.

The Nest is owned and operated by Vashon Allied Arts, a non-​profit organization that was formed more than 30 years ago to help local artists. All money earned by the Heron’s Nest supports island artists, arts programs, and art education.

The Heron’s Nest is owned and operated by Vashon Allied Arts, a non-​profit organization on Vashon Island, Washington. All money earned by the Nest is used to support and promote local artists, art programs and art education.

Originally a gallery and gift shop located in a small room in Vashon Allied Arts’ Blue Heron Art Center, the Heron’s Nest has undergone a recent remodel at its current location in the heart of Vashon.

New artists and artwork are always being added to the fine art and crafts available for purchase at the Heron’s Nest. We are proud to represent the work of more than 100 local artists. Current artwork includes paintings, prints, sculptures, woodwork, jewelry, pottery, glass, tiles and textiles.

Meet the Manager

Kathy P.

Manager

After 22 years in the financial services industry where she was responsible for customer service, sales support, and policies and procedures, Kathy left her job to focus on her love of designing and making handcrafted jewelry. She was among the first jewelry designers to establish a business promoting socially and environmentally responsible jewelry.

Kathy has been Manager of the Heron’s Nest since January, 2013. Before being named Manager, she spent a year as a volunteer working at the Nest. Kathy is responsible for customer care, helping artists, procuring art, coordinating a volunteer staff, and all other tasks involved in running a fine art and crafts gallery and gift shop.
