Rutgers Permanent Painting

Unilocal pisses me off sometimes. I’ve written several reviews of restaurants and businesses. I always try to reward those businesses that do well. I also tried to give advice to people who are going to a restaurant for the first time; either to stay away or what to order. So, when I take my time to write a long detailed review, I would expect Unilocal to consider it a recommended review. But unfortunately, Unilocal does not feel that my review is good enough to recommend. Watch them recommend this one and not the one that I actually wrote praising Rutgers Painting for their work.

I might have posted a decent review of Rutgers were it not for their terrible customer service and poor communication. Throughout the job — whole house exterior — they failed to give notice of what they needed. So there were multiple delays and last minute requests that prolonged the work. When a problem arose the foreman on the job kept saying he’d fix it, & when days passed without action and I called again, he’d tell me he’d get back to me; when I called management they graciously said they’d make sure it was fixed by the end of the day — & did nothing. Their straight-​up bold faced lies kicked this review down a few stars. The paint job looks ok, a few days after the end of the work, but these guys are so full of lies and smarmy BS that I don’t trust any of their work.

Rutgers did a good job on the exterior of our house, so we hired them again for interior work. Yikes! Messy beyond belief, when they had been so meticulous outside. Thought maybe they outsourced the interior work, who knows.
Paint immediately began to flake and peel; though they honor their warranty, it’s a real inconvenience to chase them and have the work repaired.
Also had issues with the exterior work –stains bleeding through. Again, they will honor the warranty but it’s a hassle.
Will not work with them again.

Save your money.
We had made an order to stain our home’s front door. What was supposed to be a single day job, turned into a week job with complete disaster (door off hinge over night and they broke the door’s lock). However, the job came out absolutely stunning. But lasted only 3 months, before it started FLAKING AWAY. I went to Rutgers paint to have them look at it, and they told me the manager was not available, but they would leave the message.
I received no phone call or visit.
Went back, same response. What did I get? Nothing.
Terrible. If 0 stars were an option, I’d give them that.
