Specialties

CAC’s goal is to provide safe and affordable medical cannabis (marijuana) to local patients. We have a selection of both flower and edibles including indicas, sativas, and hybrids. We are 100% legal and a pre-​ICO/​Prop D compliant collective.

History

Established in 2005.

First legal collective in the city of Los Angeles and the original Venice collective! From its inception, CAC has been a family collective. Feeling at home is one of the many reasons our patients continue to return, recommending new patients along the way.

Our goal has always been to provide a safe, caring and quiet collective for our patients. We strive to provide the highest quality and safest alternatives to their pharmaceuticals, which often have dangerous side effects.

Our selection of strains includes kushes, pure sativas, pure indicas, hybrids, and volunteers that know the difference. Our large selection of edibles includes vegan, sugar free, gluten free and tinctures (glycerin).

Our aim is to educate our patients in the difference medicinal effects of the strains, as well as edibles and smokeless vaporizing. We also help our patients find the most effective form of medicine for their individual needs.

This was my first collective to visit so I was nervous, but the sign in the front said friendly to women so I thought I would try and see what that meant. It was very nice, they were friendly and taught me a lot about the medicine that I should take. I’m not sure if the prices were good but my boyfriend said they were. They have strains from Amsterdam but I don’t know what that means so… Oh, they knew my name up stairs, I thought that was cool so I’ll go back.

I was registered with this Collective and very happy with their compassionate care. On Christmas Eve Day, I went in with two problems that had me very upset. I needed one more contribution of mercy medicine so I could make it to city to do banking and my phone was dead and no one could reach me and pick me up. They gave me medicine and told me I could charge phone. Their outlets were trashed so I couldn’t plug in my charger. They offered to let me make a call to check my voicemail. A foreign man in the lobby I had never met offered this help. At the same time, he was treating me as if I was creating a disturbance and deliberately took every calm answer I gave that just checking my VM would be fine until I could find a place to charge my phone. The guy doesn’t give me a phone. He gave me more aggravated attitude so that he threw me out, out of the collective, onto the street and acted as if was calling the police on me. What a horror.

This place is super legit. First dispensary I ever went to, and couldn’t be more happy with my experience over all. The shop is very relaxed, featuring a cozy display area for the products. Jim, the man who helped me with my purchase, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He was quick to answer all of my questions and really made me feel at ease with the whole process. The goods? Great! Private Reserve was on point, and it’s nice to know the products are lab tested. Good vibes all around from this place. 100% will be back.

Love this place! I live in Big Bear and make the drive a couple times a month for the smiling faces and the great meds. It’s upstairs which is kind of a bummer, but inside is clean and bright, and the people Ken, Lindsey and Sarah are awesome!

I just have to update my review since I’m a regular customer there. I LOVE the staff. It’s always the same people, I feel super safe and they are legit! When I walk in there I’m excited to see them and I feel the same in return. They also are ORGANIC and have paper work telling you exactly what strain works with what your looking for. This place is for QUALITY!!! They prepackage everything which makes going in their a breeze. Gez I love these people, so happy I found an awesome dispensary close by. Enjoy!

I have been to too many ‘pot shops’…THIS IS A LEGITIMATE COLLECTIVE!!! You can find cheap spots all over Venice, but if you’re looking for high-​quality, California Alternative Caregivers is the place to go. Everyone there treats you with honesty and true respect. Now that I have discovered this diamond in the rough, I wouldn’t go anywhere else! If you don’t believe me, check it out for yourself… I thoroughly recommend it :)

This place is the Goldie Locks of co-​ops. Just right.
OK. This is the only place I really go anymore. It doesn’t have EVERYTHING, but it also doesn’t overwhelm you with so many choices that you feel indecisive. Everything that is here is amazing. They carry only products that have been lab tested. They can give you the numbers on every strain and edible.
They carry some of the best edibles I’ve ever had. Ever.
The bud-​tenders are so damn nice! They have a sense of humor, and they will explain anything you need. They know my favorite products and suggest new things if they are out of the item for which I was looking. The prices are competitive. They don’t have a lot of promotions, but when you find consistently great service, why go anywhere else?
It’s a hidden gem. I am glad it isn’t TOO popular because I can get in and out very quickly.

Awesome on so many levels and for so many reasons.
First of all the buds here are organic and a very fine effect from the ones I’ve tried (I’ve taste tested about half the menu so far… for research purposes of course). The staff here is also my favorite, they’ve got the right vibe going on and it also helps that the shop had such a Venice personality, it almost feels like I’m heading into a skateboard shop or something fun like that rather than a medicinal marijuana chamber like most of them tend to be. Another plus is that Whole Foods is right across the street, so I can get my greens and then go get my greens all on one corner. Seriously guys, if ever you needed some medicine this is the place to go
