My family recently rented the 720 Milwood, Venice property. The location is very good. You are a five minute walk to Abbot Kinney and 20 minutes from the beach. There is a lot of space. 4 bedrooms and three full baths. The quality of workmanship appears better in the photos then it actually is. We did have issues with the cleanliness of the home. The floors were filthy. I did ask for some sort of swifter mop but none was provided. As well, the microwave did not work. We had someone come over the first day but he could not figure out the problem. We were out everyday and had valuables in the house. We did not want anyone coming in while not home and so we had to make do with out it. If you are not fussy you can make do. I personally will look for something else for our next visit.

Dirty and in disrepair. We rented a 3 bedroom in Venice in March and we were more than disappointed with the cleanliness of the condo. They charge you $ 185 cleaning fee to add insult to injury, The counters, cupboards, tables, etc were covered in dust and dirty streak marks were on all mirrors and cupboards. The ensuite had black mould on the grout and cigarette burns on the sink. The dishwasher fell out of the wall, the toilet in the main bathroom didn’t flush and the sink would not drain. The windows were filthy as well. At least the sheets were clean. The wear and tear was unacceptable for the price.
Like others, we tried to contact Globe to no avail. Stay clear of this company. Do a little LinkedIn search to see the credentials of their new GM…
Never, ever again. Use a more reputable company or roll the dice with VRBO.

They are now Globe Homes only, and under new management — and GREAT to work with!

We had a horrible experience with this company. We rented one of their properties in Venice at 52 ½ Ozone. First day there, the front door would not stay closed and the kitchen window was leaking. Then the refrigerator stopped working. Then the dividing door between living and sleeping area became lodged together, leaving my daughter trapped in the apartment. ‘Maintenance person’ came by to repair door and didn’t realize my daughter was home, so he made himself at home by going upstairs to take a look around.
‘Maintenance person’ repaired front door. A week later I closed front door while I ran to the garage in my bare feet, no keys no phone. Front doorknob breaks off in my hand. Another rain, water leaking from window to ceiling, inching its way towards the ceiling lights. Previous to this lights and outlets worked only sporadically. Toilet didn’t work correctly. Sheets and towels were obviously purchased from the 99 cent store. Staircase was coming away from the wall. There were many more issues but I’ll spare you.
After many complaints and phone calls, we were offered $ 2,000 in compensation for our troubles. 6 weeks later we are still waiting for our security deposit and $ 2,000. The ‘check is in the mail’.
Do yourself a favor and never rent from this company. Their listings are dumps at best and they are liars.

Venice Upper is the most disgusting place I have ever stayed in!!! THE PHOTOS ON GLOBES WEBSITE OF THIS UNIT ARE FALSE!!! Do not do business with them. We were forced to stay because there were no other rentals available in this area at the time. Upon arrival the unit was beyond DIRTY AND DISGUSTING! Mattresses were soiled, termites in entire building, bugs in bed, ants, stairway to rental filthy, furniture run down, mold in bathroom, hairs on floor, sink clogged, fixtures old and some missing, paint peeling, dirty floors and walls, back parking gate did not work properly the entire stay, washer and dryer broke (I even spent hours myself trying to fix it and never got refunded the money I put in), graffiti on mailbox and gate, neighbors smoking below, no screens on doors, outdoor deck falling apart (website photo is a joke… nothing like it), temporary ac unit in living room useless (hole in wall where it is attached), noisy and undesirable street (Brooks Ave.), spent hours and hours trying to get out of situation with Globe, phone calls were not returned, they did refund us for second portion of lease but this did not make up for the misery and stress of the first four weeks we were forced to live there. They have refused to give me any portion back on the first portion of stay. The cost of the rental was 4500.00. I could have put a down payment on a new car for my teenage daughter!!! The thought of this makes me infuriated. Location on Brooks Ave is frightful. Alley is covered with graffiti. Back upper deck looks out at ugly neighbors yards. VERY NOISY NEIGHBORS. Finally, Dale, the manager at the time came and met with us at the unit on the last day of the first portion of lease and admitted that Globe had problems with the owner of the building keeping up with fixing all the issues. He also said he would take care of the matter and get the owner to refund us full amount. Shocker, he never called us and he no longer works at Globe. To top it off, I ended up getting sick while there and went to Urgent Care. Globe Homes should be held accountable for their unethical business practices. They should have done the right thing and refunded us the entire amount. They ruined my trip and cost me undue stress and financial hardship. Please do not make the same mistake I did… run from this rental! It’s a disgrace that a business can get away with false marketing.

Amazing location in Venice — Cosy House with sea view, could enjoy breakfast while looking at the sea.

My boyfriend and I are LA locals and we were looking for a spontaneous staycation in the hip and beautiful Venice Beach. Friday morning we called Sebastian and Chris and they speedily set us up in the Santa Clara Ave studio apartment. They even provided us with a physical key because we keep the sabbath and can’t use an electrical key pad. The studio apartment was clean and aesthetically pleasing. I could see myself permanently living here! We loved the private outdoor balcony with the fairy lights at night. We conveniently were a 5 minute walk from the beach and right next to Abbot Kinney. Thank you Chris and Sebastian for quickly helping us find a great vacation space!

We rented a property from them in Marina Del Rey and paid more than a $ 1,000 a night for the beachfront property with 4 bedrooms. It would have been nice if the property was cleaned up. A door was off the hinges with nails sticking out of it. We couldn’t even close this door that was for the bathroom. Not exactly kid friendly. An employee gave us the initial tour and thought it had already been fixed. Nope. And we also had an issue with the refrigerator but never received a return call when leaving a message with Globe Homes and Condos. The property itself was a great fit for all of us but these issues were very frustrating.

A truly DISGUSTING rental.

My parents were coming to town and wanted to stay in a house. I found a Condo in Venice. I called and they were very helpful booking the unit. The pictures were accurate. It was decorated very nice and modern. Kitchen was fully equipped. I would definitely rent it again next time they come to town. It was very quiet and private. Definitely beat having them stay at a hotel. Also, great location walking distance to a lot of stores and restaurants.

While in between homes during a move from the Valley to the Westside, I stayed in a number of Globe Homes and Condos short-​term rentals in Venice and Santa Monica. They were all exactly as described, customer service is fantastic and I had a great experience in each property. Great attention to detail. Their homes are well designed, clean, offers all the linens /​amenities needed, dedicated parking and fully stocked kitchens. If I ever needed anything, they were just a phone call away and were extremely responsive on email. I will definitely call on them when I have out of town guests in the future.

DON’T DO IT! This company has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. Long story short: don’t plan on getting your security deposit back. They witheld our $ 1500 security deposit for 8 weeks without explanation. Finally returned $ 900 but never provided an explanation for the $ 600 they kept. Dealing with them has been the single worst customer service experience I have ever endured.
We rented a property in Palm Springs to celebrate my mother in law’s 60^th birthday. This was not a rowdy group. Upon return we learned that our entire $ 1500 security deposit was being witheld for damages without explanation. This went on for nearly a month before I was provided with a listing of the damage that our group supposedly caused. These included the following: sidewalk chalk on the sidewalks (huh, there was sidewalk chalk on premise when we arrived and the kids used it, not sure how much damage this can cause), burned grass from fire pit (our group noticed the burned grass upon arrival and placed the firepit on the patio, I even provided a photo to the management company showing us sitting around the fire on the patio), leaking refridgerator (we arrived and put groceries in the fridge, not sure how we caused this, obviously wear and tear).
I sent several follow up email for an explanation of charges and disputing all of the above damages. I never received any type of response to my emails after 2 months of attempts. I was never provided with a specific listing of damages and the cost to repair them. Look elsewhere.

My girlfriends and I stayed at one of Globes properties for a bachlorette party and the place was immediately a disappointment. It was very dirty and dated. Looked nothing like the pictures. We didn’t have ANY paper towels or trash bags in the entire house. Those finally showed up late on the THIRD day of our stay. On top of everything else, they charged my friends card $ 1,000 and claimed it was for a cleaning crew when the place was gross before we even showed up! I would NEVER recommend staying here again and have come to find out that this property management company has scammed others over the years with outrageous and erroneous charges as well! We are disputing the charge with our credit card company and would NEVER EVER recommend nor book with this company again.

Global Homes and Condos were the vacation rental company in charge of a house that 10 girls and I stayed in in Palm Springs for a bachelorette weekend.
Well where do I start… so 10 other girls and I decided that renting a house in Palm Spring for our best friend’s bachelorette weekend would be absolutely ideal! Sun, pool, three nights vacation and celebrating a special lady that is so dear to our heart would be awesome! Little did we know what we were getting ourselves into. When we arrived at this property we found it weird that no one was there to greet us. We just kinda walked in… at first we were not sure if we were at the right place. It looked NOTHING like the photos. After getting over the initial SHOCK we decided to take a tour. This house was falling apart all over. The kitchen looked hardly modern like the description said and was obviously updated last century (same time the photos on their website were taken). We weren’t given any spare trash bags which seemed ABSURD. 11 girls staying for 3 night weekend and only 1 trashbag?!! Better yet the property manager didn’t show up with the extra trash bags AND paper towels until the 3^rd day there?! As you can imagine the kitchen was even more of a mess as a result!!! All the lounge chairs outside were filthy and had stains on them… you definitely did not want to lay out and relax on them at all. The outdoor areas had pieces of trash lying around and the ‘entertainment’ area where we were all supposed to hang out for the weekend had such a musty smell to it, it was like it hadn’t been used in months which now I can believe as this house was so run down who would want to stay in it? We couldn’t use the bbq (even though we had planned to grill for lunch) as when the burner was turned on there was no way to adjust the setting so we wouldn’t have these huge open flames engulfing us as we cooked. We found used soap in the shower — disgusting. The whole place was a big let down for our group who saw this weekend as a once in a lifetime opportunity for us to all bond and celebrate the bachelorette. We forked out a lot of money for a place that looked NOTHING LIKE THE PHOTOS and seemed more like staying at some distant relative’s place then a vacation rental. Seriously disappointing and definitely put a dampener on the weekend. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Globes Homes and Condos to anyone!

My friends and I stayed in the Palm Springs house for a long weekend by the pool. The house is truly awesome and extremely private. The views across the indoor space and out to the pool are great, and the mid-​century modern architecture and decoration work very well. The neighborhood is occasionally noisy when planes to take off overhead, but this doesn’t happen very often. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a BBQ outside for grilling. The master bedroom and bath are spacious and comfortable. I recommend this house if you want something with a clean design while visiting Palm Springs.

Not the best of customer service experience. I had found a great property for which I had a quote for a 2 night trip to Palm Springs, only later for them to tell me that they require a 3 night minimum stay. Now this is with the site showing a 2 night minimum stay requirement, with them sending me a quote for 2 nights, and following that up with another email with a quote for a 2 night stay. When I questioned them why they would change from 2 to 3 nights, the answer was that it was an error on their behalf and that they would fix their site because the days I had selected for the trip was during the high season which required a 3 night minimum stay. Well, apparently there were 3 errors on their behalf. The advertisement on the website, the original quote and their follow-​up quote. You would think that with a mess up like that they would go ahead and honor their quote.

I will make this short and sweet. We rented 2101 Ocean Ave. #7 in Santa Monica in Jan. 2013. There was no heat for the first day (we had to call and call to get a space heater) plus the toilet didn’t flush properly and the sink in the bathroom didn’t drain. Something is off with the pipes in that building. When we left and asked for money back (with no heat and proper draining water for the 1 toilet there was no way we could stay), we got 1 night back out of 4.
Plus it was so dirty you could see the dirt on the sofa and the garage door didn’t open and the managing company had to come over and let us out.
Enough said, don’t stay in this unit. They told us they are own owned and the owner would not give us the money back. Just bad business.

Where to start. I guess if I could give negative stars I would start there.
The Globe website was so frustrating to use that I went old school to gather information. I picked up the phone to cut tot he chase. I spoke with Mr. Fox Adams and told him I was looking for a wheel chair accessible four bedroom house in Palm Springs and was very specific that the accessible bathroom needed to have a bathtub. His answer was quick and sure, you could rent A or B. I looked at both on the website and choose house A. I normally call just to ensure that we are renting accessible accommodations but since I had called to book didn’t feel the need to reconfirm.
The booking was quick and easy, however as I was in route checking messages on the tarmac in Oakland I had a message from my sister that the bathrooms weren’t accessible quickly called Mr. Fox Adams and relayed the message from my sister where he says I thought you needed just a flat house for wheel chair. WTF? Really it’s 2012 who in business says yes it’s wheel chair accessible when it isn’t. I asked him how we were going to resolve the issue and he asked how did I normally resolve this, I told him «I CALL IN ADVANCE AND SPEAK TO HUMAN LIKE I DID WITH YOU» dumb s**t. Long story short we had to spend 5 hours looking for a wheel chair accessible hotel room Friday night of spring break. Not a great start to the holiday.
Let me just say I had family flying in from Australia, Iowa, California and Oregon. Thought it would be nice to hang out by the pool, play cards and make dinners together. They were upset and stressed, we had to take taxi’s back and forth since we were drinking wine with dinner. We decided to deal with it upon our return, I didn’t want to reunion our holiday. When we told them what happened they denied everything and refused to compensate us for the hotel room. Nice follow through.
Oh yeah the bathrooms were dirty and the rugs really gross, my sisters had to clean before anyone went barefoot. The pool was lovely as was the hottub.
What has happened to customer service?

I really wanted to give them a higher review because the customer service people were truly nice and helpful on the phone but the whole experience from beginning to end was a lot more trouble than I would ever put myself through again. I should have heeded the other reviews but we just wanted a place to stay near Abbott Kinney so we rolled the dice.
1. Online booking isn’t really available. I called the old-​fashioned way and booked through an agent. Janet was nice enough on the phone but it just felt like she’d rather be doing something else than help me find the right vacation property.
2. Once we booked, they charged the wrong credit card, even after we were pretty clear about which card to use. Janet did offer a 10% off for the next rental, but shouldn’t it be a discount on the current rental? Plus, they offer all returning customers 10% off their next rental, so technically, I would have gotten it either way.
3. Our check in was on a Thurs evening at Santa Clara B, a unit right off of Abbott Kinney. I was very specific during booking that we wanted to be located as close to AK as possible. I received a call Tues evening from Sebastian (2 days prior to arrival) asking if we would switch to another vacation property and that they would upgrade us to a beachfront home because the current tenant wanted to extend their stay. The thought was nice but they completely forgot that we wanted to stay near AK.
I called the following day (Wed) but the entire office was out on a company retreat. Janet was out the entire rest of the week. It would have been nice if she let me know she wouldn’t be reachable and given me an alternative contact, but nope, no courtesy call or email. We ended up getting to stay at our originally booked condo but seriously what a mess!
4. We decided to drive down to LA so our check-​in would be later than usual. Just getting check-​in process was another headache in itself. I thought that I had to get a key from the office but it turns out they have lock codes on all of their gates and doors. I wish Janet could have just said that from the time of booking so I wasn’t worried that we weren’t able to get keys from them on Thursday evening. They didn’t confirm codes until I had to call a few times to confirm. With Janet being out, it wasn’t easy either.
5. We had rented bikes for the weekend and they confirmed that there would be 2 bikes outside our condo. Well… there weren’t. There was one locked away but it wasn’t even near the location they said it would be. I had to call, YET AGAIN, to get our second bike (Christina was very helpful). Apparently, it was late because they had a problem with the bike delivery. Why couldn’t they just have emailed us letting us know instead of us having to call and confirm? They also didn’t offer to refund us or give us a discount due to this mishap.
6. The condo itself was cutely decorated and perfectly situated right where we wanted to be. There were areas that showed signs of it being an older building but coming from SF, it didn’t bother us much. Everything was great until I stepped into the bathroom. It was disgusting. There were stains on the walls and the entire bathroom should have been repainted. One thing I hate is a gross bathroom.
7. The neighbors are very nice. However, we had the bottom unit and we were woken up very early every morning to them walking around. The floors must be thin because we could hear everything. Last thing I want on vacation is to be woken up at 7am to stomping above my head!
Next time, I’m going with HouseBNB or VRBO. I’ve never experienced so much trouble with a rental company before!

I rented a bungalow on Venice Beach a few weeks ago. Everything went incredibly smoothly the first day of check in which was Monday ⁸⁄₈ I was a bit taken aback at the run-​down 1950’s bohemian nature of the bungalow, but tried to overlook it. It needs serious remodeling and the toilet runs constantly. I was also NOT made aware of the fact that the property shares space with another rented out bungalow — so god only knows what you are going to get facing your porch (which we soon found out on day 3).
I will attempt to tick this down:
1. I was guaranteed parking and shown the garage. Christina assured me that parking was ‘tough’ and to be sure and use my garage. I go out to my car on Tuesday morning and I have a parking ticket from the City of Los Angeles. nice. This begins endless phone calls to Christina’s cell, which was NOT her cell, but was actually Patrick’s cell who NEVER calls back and I never heard from the duration of my stay. When I finally did get someone on the phone I had to call the office and Fox put me through to Patrick… who snidly informed me «how is it Globe’s fault you got a parking ticket?»…My comment? «You GUARANTEED parking and I was IN the garage. WTF?» I have now had to write a huge statement to the City of LA along with including PHOTOS of the garage and my contract with Globe guaranteeing parking. This has been a MAJOR PAIN IN THE ASS.
2. Kooky Neighbors who moved in on Day 3. The door to their bungalow faced ours. They had two boys who were constantly going in and out of the front security gate and leaving it wide open. I felt like I had to babysit this trashy womans kids. There was NOTHING advertised on the Globe site stating that this property was shared with three others (one includes the maintenance man who was very sweet)
3. Hot tub out of commission for two days
4. Parking, not only does this entire parking issue really piss me off even three weeks later, but Globe should have refunded me the cost of the ticket $ 70.00 so I would NOT have to now be fighting with the City of LA. They took NO responsibility for lying to me about parking.
5. Fox is a really nice guy and easy to work with. However, the rest of the monkeys in the office are a pain in the butt to deal with. ‘A’ does not talk to ‘B’, while ‘C’ does whatever they do and ‘A’ has to just deal with it, while never including ‘B’ or ‘C’.
Not one of them communicate with each other.
6. I attempted to rent the property for an additional night (Saturday) — and was not available), as we decided to stay an extra day. They had a property down the road that seemed great, but yet again, noone communicated anything about what the other was doing. Having worked in Contracts managing multi-​million dollar programs, I know how to read a contract. They wanted to charge me an additional cleaning fee AND an additional security deposit. UMMM… no thanks. I moved myself to the Marriott in Marina Del Ray who treated me like GOLD.
7. Check out. Because all of them had acted so dang flakey, I did not trust the entire check out process. I could not get anyone on the phone to get over there to hand them the key. SO I videorecorded… yes, really… I videorecorded the entire house to prove there was no damage in case one of them came back saying otherwise. I was then FORCED to lock all the keys in the house because noone ever showed up.
It pains me to give a low review, but I feel like I have no choice. I told Fox just yesterday that working with them was one of the most frustrating experiences I have ever had… and I use
ALL the time (which is how I found Globe) and have never had an owner treat me so poorly or with such ignorance.
I won’t be using them again either.
