I have a boat stall there and have for a year now. My last trip down(34 days ago) the door jammed and it will not open or close. I have been calling 2 times a week to try and get it fixed with no luck or return calls. The hotel is okay, but STAYAWAY from renting a boat shed. I have had to cancel 3 trips so far because frankly they don’t give 2 bowel movements…

Best hotel in the area, not in the world. Staff is friendly and rooms are clean. Breakfast is served early to accommodate the workers in the industry around here. Very thoughtful. Walls a VERY thin. If you’re a light sleeper, come prepared with earplugs. Not only could I hear the person on the other side of the wall talking on his phone… I could hear the person ONTHEOTHERENDOFTHELINE. Rooms have a tiny microwave and a dorm size fridge. You should bring some food in with you unless you aren’t a picky eater and want to eat at the same couple of ‘restaurants’ in the area. Closest grocery store is 30 minutes north.

As the other reviews indicate, Lighthouse Lodge is clean, basic and somewhat pricey.

The Lighthouse Lodge is one of the few places toward the tip southern Louisiana. Its not terribly nice or anywhere you want to hang out, but close to heliports for offshore workers and docks for offshore fishing.

This place has two parts. In the front there is a regular Inn. In back there are bungalow type places available. I try to stay in the Inn side when I come because I’m usually on my way to work and just need some sleep before I head out off shore. Typical continental style breakfast is available starting much earlier than most hotels. This is probably due to the bulk of people staying here are off shore oil field workers and have to leave very early in the mornings. The rooms are very clean, but very basic. Linoleum floors, two full size beds, a small table by the window, and a tv. The tv is pretty small and hung high on the wall, but I never watch the thing anyway so it doesn’t bother me. The two negatives I have are there were no shampoo or body wash provided for showering, and the price seems a little steep at $ 100 a night. But, it is the nicest looking place I’ve seen so far in this area where there is not a whole lot of option. All in all I enjoy my stay here and I will be staying here again.
