Wow! This place is amazing! I walk in and get greeted with a smile and warm welcome. Not sure what others have been experiencing but I feel that the staff is warm and welcoming.
All the classes, workshops and speakers are fabulous– always learn and grow tremendously in the mystic journey bookstore! I have made many new friends and feel like it is a second home for me!
The crystals, books, incense, candles, singing bowls, essential oils, and well everything in the store is great! I always find what I am looking for and every time I go in I learn about a new crystal, book or tid bit of wisdom.
The staff is helpful because any question I have they are willing and able to assist me.
So overall, I give two thumbs up to Mystic Journey Bookstore ~ and their staff!
I will continue to give my business and promote this sacred space that is a hub for likeminded spiritual seekers!

Took a class here and loved it! I also loved how they had a variety of candles and books. But I didn’t love the staff. Cold and unfriendly.

Marie Bargas was spot on with her readings! Must see Marie she’s incredibly funny and quick. No nonsense answers to questions you may have!

I absolutely love Mystic Journey. When you first walk in, you smell their beautiful selection of incense. They also feature a large selection of books, crystals, tarot decks and candles. Walking through the store to the back, you’ll find their awesome patio space with a fountain and some amazing large crystal pieces — my favorite being a HUGE amethyst piece that reminds me of a galaxy! I often come into the store and see people relaxing or meditating in that space.
Not sure about the other reviews but the staff was super kind and helpful. I was greeted with big warm smiles and asked if I needed help finding anything.
All in all a pretty chill experience! Definitely coming back again in the future!

I agree with many of the reviews here stating the staff was unfriendly and cold.
When I walked into the store the 5 employees standing behind the counter who all stared at me (in an unfriendly manner) couldn’t be bothered to simply say «hello».
Please don’t bother to ask them a question relating to books or the crystals because they seem to only be in business of capitalizing of off the intuitives who hold reading in the space, everything else is a money making rouge.
In an environment that I thought would be centered on love and self betterment through spirituality — I was shocked such rude a spiteful people would be put on staff.
Judge for yourself… I’m sure you will experience the same poor treatment as I did

Had a reading with Venus back in November. I had never been to a clairvoyant and she made my first experience so relaxing, memorable, and informative. She told me things that definitely applied to my life and gave me some exciting news about the future. I know there are a lot of skeptics out there, but she comes highly recommended from a friend who has actually had Venus’s predictions come true. I live in Orange County so I don’t make it out to LA as much as I’d like, but I think I’m due for another reading. Can’t wait to see Venus again!

Store has many crystals, books, candles, cards, etc. Various readings available. They have book signings too.
Star, the woman who works there, was pretty cold and rude though. Quite off putting.

Amazing positive energy around and within the store. It has almost every spiritual book you can think of and such helpful workers. Definitely going back.

If you’re intrigued by the metaphysical, pretty crystals, or just want to pick up an enlightened book to read on the beach, Mystic Journey is for you. They have an expansive selection of books on diverse topics ranging from dreams, akashic records, law of attraction, and religions of the world interprersed with beautiful amethyst, quartz, and other mystical crystals.
There is a section up front featuring $ 2.95 chunks of crystals with slips of paper describing their properties/​what to use them for– whether you are needing to unwind or want to manifest something, you’ll find a crystal to help! I picked up an orange calcite stone that is supposed to be highly energizing and cleansing. Even if you aren’t sure if you believe in these types of things, they’re beautiful to have in your home. They also carry sage sprays, incense, perfume oils, Buddha statues… I do think some of the prices are inflated, for example their Florida Water is marked $ 19.95, but the same bottle can be found at my local Pavilions (of all places) for around $ 5.95.
Definitely worth a stop if you’re browsing along Abbot Kinney– they also have a back patio area with several massive amethysts you’ll want to check out.

I’ve had readings with many of the intuitive readers at mystic journey. It’s a beautiful space with a very relaxing back room. I love to flip through the reading material and see what new crystals may have come in. The readers that stand out for me are Stephanie, Brad, Solaris and VENUS. I still have a few more to try… there are 3 that didn’t work out. The good news is that Mystic allows a five minute buffer if a reading isn’t making sense with a money back option within 5 minutes. I’ve always walked away happy with the reader policy and found the right fit. A suggestion, always set up appointments ahead of time and show up a few minutes early. The readers can get booked up and you want to have the option to extend time if you’re booking a shorter reading. That’s been my experience.

This store is one of a kind. I just came back from Sedona where there are many crystal/​spiritual stores but this one is the best. I was really impressed with the store setting, the energy, and the staffs. I will definitely go back.

I just love this place! Such a serene and peaceful energy when you enter that is such a contrast to the hustle and bustle of Abbott Kinney. I also had an absolutely amazing vibrational sound healing with Maria Bargas that was so amazing and divinely timed. Thank you Mystic Journey. Thank you Maria

I’ve been to this store many times to browse, purchase items, and attend events. I enjoy receiving their email newsletter to find out about upcoming events. In LA, this is one of the more active stores of its kind, especially on the westside. All employees I’ve encountered have been friendly and helpful.
Today I had the pleasure of getting a reading from Shabrena. She is awesome! She is so warm and down to earth, read cards so intuitively and without hesitation, you can tell she is such an expert at her craft. She was spot on with certain aspects of my life and gave me really wonderful, positive feedback that left me feeling a lot better. I highly recommend Shabrena for a reading and will definitely see her again.

I went to the acro class two weeks ago.
Great teacher, learned a lot. Highly recommended. I paid 15 dollars for the Class.
Today I went again with the impression that I will pay 15 dollars.
I got there went to the cashier she didn’t know how to charge me and asked me to pay later. She did not tell me that it has changed back to 25 Dollars.
On my way out I went to her again to pay she told me it’s 25 dollars. I explained that I paid 15 last time. She was like it’s 25 now. She also said that she let me in because it was late and she didn’t want me to miss the class which is nice but not the whole truth. She didn’t know how to charge me that was the main problem. I don’t like when a sales person tries to change the story for there benefit.
I wasn’t happy about all of that and asked if I can pay 15 like last time. Her colleague starts answering for here and said with a mad and demanding voice I don’t think so but let me ask. When she returned she was like last week you paid 25 two. I said I was here two weeks ago. She said you said a week. I said no two weeks ago I know what I told you. She was acting like I would lie to here. I want to talk to the Manager I said. She got her on the phone for me. She was quite nice and friendly and said that she is sorry but it’s gone be 25 for this class.
I was done arguing and said ok I will pay 25.

I love Venus. She is an incredibly gifted clairvoyant. I’ve been seeing her for awhile now almost like a therapist. She is just so amazing at what she does and is so helpful!
Six months ago, she told me an amazing opportunity would come my way. I would have a new job that I would love and my salary would increase. She said it would just present itself without me looking for it. Of course, I couldn’t help myself during those months. I must have gone on 10 interviews. Rejection after rejection. It was awful. So one day, I said forget it! I’m going to open my own doors. I cleaned out my desk and created a manual for my «replacement». I hadn’t even given notice yet. My colleague thought I had lost it. That night, my friend asked if she could send my resume to someone. I said sure. Didn’t think much of it. I ended up getting it. And it was everything Venus said it would be!
She recently told me I would be moving to West Hollywood with a cat. I left the reading pretty confused because I am extremely allergic to cats and I was planning on moving to Santa Monica. It just didn’t make any sense to me. But she kept insisting that I would absolutely love this cat and that we would become really close. Turns out, I will be moving to West Hollywood and my roommate’s name is Cat! It didn’t click until I met her and then I knew I was in the right place!
I always love a little extra help, especially if it’s from the other side! I wish I could see Venus all time. She is just amazing.

Cool little bookstore with a number of books for your spiritual library, minerals, incense, crystals, and figurines (Buddha, Shiva, and even a Mary). A number of faith traditions are represented here, and the overall feel in the store is calm and welcoming. My kiddie grabbed a beautiful gold-​plated sketchbook, a really lovely find for special drawings and stories. The whole family really enjoyed wandering in this lovely place.

Love this place. Great source for conscious gifts and books. They have crystals, and healing sessions. Great vibes. Who doesn’t like a conscious shop?

Omg! I just noticed that I’ve never left a review for my favorite place! Probably because when I’m there I’m so wrapped up in all its goodness. There are no words to describe the contribution that the spiritual readers, workshops, and books have added to my spiritual journey. Yesterday, I happened to be in the store with the owner and HAD to take a second to thank him for opening this special place. So far, I’ve had the honor of getting readings from Michael, Rachel, The Owl and Venus. Each of them are wonderful and gifted in their own right. The front staff is also great! Im very grateful for the people that they choose to hold workshops there, such as Miki Jacobs and Amanda Young of Urban Goddess to name a few. Overall, I have nothing but good things to say about this place. I would and will continue to recommend that if you feel called to visit this store, do it!!!

Last night, my friends and I came in to browse, but wasn’t welcomed comfortably. One of, the employees was very dismissive and unhelpful. Whenever asked for help, it was disregarded and quick. I usually am helped out with kinder associates, but this particular woman wasn’t there for the customers. I have to give one star because of that rude encounter. Very rude staff member. Only wish is to hire positive and happy employees who want to help!

Venus is a great reader, with insights from the angels and archangels that helped me to focus and open my mind to other opportunities! Lots of readers are amazing with all different ways to help; Josh is a great numerologist, Stephanie is amazing with messages, Michael has really great insights and is really awesome with cards, as Krista is too… Solaris is great with astrology, Kara is really sweet… Rana has messages from the angels.

Great little shop, great selection. Didn’t have the One Hour Spell Candles I like. I did find a new deck of Orale Cards I had not seen before and a Third Eye Oil.
Great service, friendly, prices on some items a little high, but it’s Venice, gotta pay the rent!

I love this place they have everything organized labeled and offer readings I might try next time. The meditation room is comfortably and very relaxing. The stones are massive inside that room. I was looking for labradorite and the customer service was on point and friendly.

This is an amazing and awesome store! WOW! TOTAL ZEN! I have been to a lot of crystal/​metaphysical/​spiritual stores but this one is by far the best! The layout of this store is perfect. They have crystals, geodes and loose stones, jewelry, incense and burners, smudging supplies, candles, essential oils, tarot cards, divination tools, sound healing bowls and instruments and much more. There are rooms for readings, and an inclosed patio for Yoga and workshops equipped with over hanging heat lamps, chairs, love seat, tables, pillows, fountains. Tons of books and places to sit and read. The ocean air breezes though the front entrance to the back. They left no stone unturned here. The employees are super nice! Believe me when I say this store is perfection! I was in awe, and aspire to own a shop like this in the future! The only draw back is parking, street, metered, and scarce. But this place is so fabulous that I couldn’t compromise one star just for the parking situation. I can’t wait to go back!

Just had an awesome reading with Michael Wamback! The whole store is awesome, with really great products and seems they have great events too!

A place of mystical wonders and spiritual delights. As soon as you walk in you’ll feel the presence of each crystal each gem stone smoothing your soul. The books gives solace to your eternal quests for divine answers. Your ears are awakened by random people playing random notes from the big display of crystal healing bowls; except the sounds are so not random because each note feels so good. Accompanied by the wind playing the huge Woodstock wind chimes. You’ll meet strangers who feel like long lost friends. Everyone is very nice very very nice here. I think this bookstore is from a higher dimension where angels loom and knowledge blessed.

I had a great experience with Kara who did a reading for me. I’m not a regular with this kind of thing but starting to dabble and was very impressed with Kara. She was extremely compassionate and understanding of my situation without me telling her too much. I’m hopeful that her reading and interpretation was accurate as it gives me things to look forward to.
Staff at the bookstore were super friendly and helpful.

I have to admit, sometimes a pup needs some guidance. I know, we look like we have the world in our paws most of the time, but a psychic reading, a self-​help book, going to a spoon bending party, hey it’s all good! Imagine a dog bending a spoon. There is no dog.
I’ve been to a few of the psychics to work out some creative blocks and have had my mind blown over and over. This store is like a shaman in itself, so if you’re working through a problem, come here instead of turning on the tv on and feeding your mind to the spin doctors.
As far as the readers, Nita: genius. Jason: genius. Guinevere: genius. Hell they’re probably all geniuses, just haven’t had a reading from them all. So go book yourself a reading (30 minutes so you don’t feel cheated) and then go across the street to Gjelina and get yourself some tasty grub.

This is my first time passing by this little place and I loved it! As soon as I saw all the crystal rocks from the window, I was excited to go inside and the place did not disappoint! I love the vibes I got in the place and the staff were really nice. Although this place is a bookstore, I was led to all the candles, incense, and crystals. I purchased a Soy Massage candle that gives a Joyful aurora and when the wax melts, since it’s made of soy, you can use it as massaging oils. Another purchase were these beautiful crystals that were selling for $ 2.50 each and I got two: Peacock Ore and Amethyst. Each crystal has their own fortune, but I got them for the beauty of it. They have really interesting things that has to do with fortunes, auras, and getting to know your inner spirt. I really admired this place and I will definitely come back.

I had the opportunity to meet with The Owl and get some balanced perspective back into my chaotic life. What an incredible experience I had. I felt like I was talking to an old friend who knew me for many years and I was because she was feeling everything I was feeling… she felt all the same chaos I did… and yet she was able to provide me with a sense of calmness deep down by having me thinking with my heart rather than my head to find the answers.
It was so fulfilling to spend time with her and I left with a better understanding of myself and what I need to do in order to become more grounded with myself and my path.
The Owl was the perfect person for me to meet with at the store… I am forever grateful to her and the wisdom she provided me!

I’m impressed with the store’s selection and quality of some of its psychics like Kyra Oser and Michael. Some of the most insightful and spiritually uplifting readings of my life. I was a Senior Content Manager at one of the largest and most profitable advice services — California Psychics — and I reviewed and promoted intuitives and bolstered new customer referrals from 20k to 400k inside of 9 months so I can say with complete confidence that Kyra and Michael are the real deal. Michael knew about my intention to have a child and knew the nature of my dreams about the sex of the child and encouraged me to keep on the path of entrepreneurial endeavors.
He zeroed in on my energetic issues and provided spiritual homework — he also recommended that I move forward at all costs because I made amends with my past and forgave those who took advantage of my heart and my good nature. He assured me that yes I am a teacher, writer, successful entrepreneur and soon to be mother. He cautioned me about working on myself excessively and shielding blame for the problems others have foisted upon me.
As one who struggles with self-​doubt, Michael downloaded intel on my subconscious and assured me I take on too many burdens and tend to blame myself for others’ fallacies. I barely said a word to him and he simply provided a discourse and inventory on all areas of my life with the caveat that he does not tell people what they want to hear! I can’t emphasize enough how spiritually helpful he has been and I’ve been taking steps and seeing results in just one week. If you’re open and willing, a teacher arises. Michael is that mentor.

This place has it all. Last time I ended up purchasing salt crystal candle holders, great for cleansing the air in a small space especially if you’re engulfed around technological devices. Also the incense sticks are delightful and you can pick any ten you desire for only $ 1.50– yep bought those.
:Note to people just trying incense, please don’t overkill with the fragrance, one is enough, use it at times of relaxation and harmony to draw deeper connections. Not all day everyday, you’ll get dizzy and pass out. Unless that’s what you’re going for.:
I also purchased healing stones and rock energy bracelets. To be quite honest this would have been the ultimate in peace had the associate at the register not been so negative.
Yep, that’s right. NEGATIVE. In a store based upon POSITIVE ENERGY.
Ladies, please for the sake of others sit down and mediate. You need to stop cursing, being rude, dropping purchased items, and giving attitude. For the universes sake, remember where you’re employed and attempt to remember why.
Nonetheless here’s to a gem of a store, and the release of my true Aquarius hippie… Oh and here’s to associates that need some incense, perhaps some salt crystals and loads and loads of stones to gain zen.
