We are an independently owned and operated tutoring service specializing in test preparatory for the SAT/​ACT and home tutoring in all general subjects, including honors courses, foreign languages, study skills, and more… Our tutors are either certified teachers or degreed professionals who love to teach. We also offer beginner piano and guitar lessons for children in elementary grades.

History

Established in 2007.

As a former teacher at a private school in Vermont, when I moved to Florida with my family, I wanted to continue doing what I loved – teaching, but I wanted to do it on a one-​on-​level with students. So I began tutoring students in Sarasota County in English, French, and piano. I found the parents were asking me time and time again if I tutored other subjects as well – like math and science and the like. This gave me an idea – I would start a tutoring business, engaging teachers, educators, and degreed specialists to take on assignments out of my range of study and Sunshine Tutoring Services was born.

I have a Master’s Degree in French/​Pedagogy, with a Bachelor’s Degree in the same. I speak French, Portuguese, understand and write (some) Spanish, and Italian.
