History

Established in 2007.

Founded in 2007, Syncopate creates and produces interactive team building workshops for executives of small and large corporations such as Google, Yahoo!, Microsoft and The Gap. Using the universal language of music, Syncopate provides an innovative and highly creative platform of music for individuals and teams to explore their working dynamics, improve communication and learn new skills. Syncopate is headquartered in San Francisco, CA but offers programs nationwide.

Meet the Business Owner

Thoryn S.

Business Owner

Thoryn Stephens is the founder of Syncopate. He is an expert facilitator, music producer, entrepreneur and scientist. In 2004 he left his role as a cell biologist in pharmaceutical drug development to follow his passion for music. He then founded Syncopate, an interactive team building company that utilizes music as a unique and innovative solution for corporate training.

Stephens designed the foundation of Syncopates platform, the Perfect Pitch Methodology, based on experiential learning using music, and has built a Fortune 500 client base including Yahoo!, Google, and The Gap. His achievements have been featured in The New York Times, The San Francisco Chronicle and local broadcast stations. Due to his expertise in digital media, Thoryn has also guest lectured at the University of California, Berkeley.

A Northern Californian native, Thoryn received a B.S. in biotechnology with a specialization in biochemistry and music theory from the University of Kentucky.
