Tracy Kontos Private Chef

Tracy has been cooking for my family for both in-​home meals and as dropped off meals 4 – 5 times per week. Every week, she provides a suggested menu for the upcoming week, which we then customize.
When she cooks dinner at home, she will make enough food for breakfast and lunch the next day, which is nicely packaged into reusable containers and labeled with the menu item and date. After cooking, she cleans up after herself and leaves your kitchen cleaner than when she first got there! If she doesn’t actually cook at my home, she comes in the afternoon and drops off dinner for that night, then breakfast and lunch for the next day. Again, they are all packaged into the reusable containers with labels.
Tracy’s cooking is AWESOME!!! When ever I go out to a restaurant to eat now, I’m not able to enjoy food as much because her cooking is just straight up better than what you can get at any restaurant.
She is very good at listening to what your needs, likes, and dislikes are as they relate to your dietary restrictions, allergies, and your personal taste palate. I recently found out that I’m allergic to dairy (who the hell is allergic to dairy? Apparently I am.) Tracy worked with me to not only find new menu items, but also going so far as to research and find alternative options to cooking the same foods I like but with slight variations to remove the dairy.
Tracy has also provided meals for bigger dinner parties. Again, not even breaking a sweat as she’s cranking out michelin star worth food! She can do it all, from cooking for a few people, to a family, to big parties. The types of food she cooks also ranges from French, American, Asian, and everything in between.
Added bonuses to having Tracy as your private chef:
— She’s just an awesome person to know and chat with. It’s not like you’re paying a private chef to come to your house and cook for you, it’s more like having a friend over who happens to be cooking for you.
— She’s cranking out the food but she’s not even breaking a sweat, all while keeping the kitchen tidy and food organized as she’s cooking.
— Having Tracy help with kids good is amazing. Now I can send fresh homemade breaded chicken nuggets or fish sticks in my kids lunch boxes vs. the frozen processed ones.
— Tracy is always willing to throw in some cooking tips/​advice. It’s like having a private chef AND teacher!

I have had the honor of Tracy cooking for my family consistently 3 times a week for the past 2 years. She is a Master Chef literally. Tracy was a finalist on the Master Chef show a few years ago and in my opinion should have won. I can’t imagine anyone being able to top Tracy’s cooking. Tracy’s specialty is meats; whether it be beef, chicken or fish. She knows how to extract maximum flavor and the perfect texture. Very creative with many of her other dishes as well.
Often times creative and artistic people will have quirks but Tracy is a true professional. She’s punctual, organized and courteous. When Tracy cooks in my home, she leaves the kitchen spotless. Everything is nicely tucked away.
When I go to 4 to 5 star Unilocal reviewed restaurants, I’m often disappointed not because the restaurant was necessarily bad but because I eat healthier and tastier food at home with Tracy’s cooking.
Recently I switched to the Bulletproof Diet (kinda like the Paleo diet). Tracy was able to track down Dave Asprey’s infographic chart and tailor my food accordingly.

I attended a pop-​up event of Tracy’s at the Love Shack in Venice Beach CA. The atmosphere created by the art gallery/​furniture store, combined with the table decorations of hydrangeas, burlap and tea lights made the event feel personal and cozy. It was attended by about 25 people and there was plenty to eat and drink. The four-​course meal was wonderfully diverse and complex but was accessible and filling. My favorite was the Maine lobster with fried lemon, prosciutto, avocado aioli and truffle chips on an English muffin, and the whipped goat cheese tart with almond and thyme crust. And ALL the ingredients were locally sourced! It wasn’t until the dinner was over and we spoke to Tracy did she admit that the venue didn’t even have a kitchen and that she had to bring everything in to make the night a success. I would have NEVER known the difference! Her flexibility and attention to detail appeared effortless; this combined with her warm, energetic personality, all make Tracy a total package for your next event.

If I could give her 0 stars I would. After speaking with Tracy via email and phone and confirming her availability for my event I was having, she emails me a week before the event to tell me she has booked another event! I had to scramble around and find someone to hire for the event in a weeks time! I have never worked with someone so unprofessional in my life. Who confirms with you and then cancels on you the next day? Is this how you run a business? Clearly she is not a reliable person, look elsewhere.

Fantastic! Stove at the rental had issues and dish washer broke but she kept smiling and handled it all with grace. Her staff was wonderful too. Food was perfect.

My boss Adam was looking to hire a personal chef for a dinner party he was hosting at his house. I randomly came across Tracy’s website and decided to reach out. Tracy’s professionalism and service was absolutely incredible. She sat down with both me and Adam a few days prior to help piece together a very personalized menu.
On the day of the dinner party, Tracy arrived several hours early to prep. It was a real pleasure getting to know her on a personal level and watching her cook away! She has some great stories; it was like a live cooking show.
The food and drinks she prepared were sensational and we have even decided to hire her again for Adam’s birthday party.
Tracy is one of a kind and has our full support. She’s extremely talented and passionate about her work. We can’t express how excited we are to work with Tracy again in a few months.

Tracy did an AMAZING job this past weekend at a luncheon we hosted for an intimate wedding gathering for 12 in Santa Monica. From my first interaction with Tracy, she was clearly a professional and inquired about our food likes/​dislikes, allergies, etc in order to come up with a unique, personal and creative menu for our party.
The choices ranged from a roasted beet salad, tortilla espanola (spanish style omelette), coffee rubbed filet and a truffled mac & cheese to name a few.
Her «farm to table» approach was very appealing to me and sure enough, her choice of ingredients, flavors made the meal extra special. Tracy not only arrived on time and ready to get started but throughout the morning that she was preparing the food, many of the guests attending would interact and ask questions about the ingredients, menu, etc. We were aiming for an intimate, family gathering and immediately she became part of the group. Her unique style and amazing personality made it seem like she was related to one of us and this was another meal being prepared for her family. She is so good and natural at what she does that when we had an issue with the oven/​range come up, like a true professional she went with a plan B and voila! crisis resolved and food was on the table.
I can’t express how happy we were with the entire process and will not hesitate to call Tracy again in the future

I can not say enough amazing things about Tracy and her organic/​healthy catering. I contacted her to cater a business lunch in Hollywood, an in-​office event with about 30 – 40 people. She arrived early, the presentation was absolutely beautiful and the food. THE FOOD.
I am a foodie albeit a healthy one. And her food was exactly spot-​on to my taste. We had kale salad, mixed greens, chicken salad (with greek yogurt of course), cheese and charcuterie platters, sandwiches, etc. etc. My clients kept telling me how refreshing to have food that was fresh, healthy, and filling. When produce is fresh and from the farmer’s market with lots of fresh herbs you can tell.

I’m still dreaming about the coffee-​rubed, grass-​fed NY Strip Steak that Tracy served at a recent dinner party we held. She is a true professional, and her food never, ever disappoints. Though I’ve had the pleasure of eating her food several times, I am still always shocked at how restaurant-​quality it is, but with so much love. Highly recommended!

Fantastic food! I’ve taken her cooking classes and she’s an excellent instructor — so friendly and easy to understand. Love all the hands on learning and of course eating!

I went to the pop-​up on June 4 and am so glad I did. The food was amazing! The short rib and crème brûlée were just two of the highlights.
Food aside, Tracy Kontos and team were professional, friendly, and enthusiastic, all making for a delicious and enjoyable evening. I’m already looking forward to the next one!

A great pop-​up that has all its bases covered from apps to desert. Tracy Kontos and her team certainly won’t let you leave hungry, but you will leave looking forward to their next seating, and wondering why you’d never had food this good before.

Best dinner I’ve had in a while. It was all clearly farm-​to-​table food. So good and so beautifully presented. If Source was a brick-​and-​mortar restaurant, I’d no doubt be there weekly. And if I could describe the Crème Brûlée I would. No words. Seriously.
