Unlocking Potential Test Preparation provides research-​based tutoring and workshops for ISEE, HSPT, and SAT/​ACT exams. Students perform better with targeted instruction focused on the specific skills and strategies needed for each test. UP Test Preparation has specialized tutors ready to work with your son or daughter at your home or school.

History

Established in 2011.

Jenni and I started Unlocking Potential several years ago because we saw the need for more specialized instruction in the test preparation industry. Most test preparation companies have a one-​size-​fits-​all approach and at times hire college graduates with no teaching experience to teach workshops. At Unlocking Potential we understand that each test has specific strategies and skills that need to be taught. Our instructors have several years of teaching experience and know the tests inside and out. Our company realizes that each student is different and has different needs. We match our expert tutors accordingly.

Meet the Business Owner

Erin and Jenni L.

Business Owner

Jenni (co-​owner)

Jenni received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology from Occidental College. She has worked as a behavior therapist for 10 years in Seattle and Los Angeles and has tutored and taught for test preparation companies for 5 years. Before that, she tutored kids formally and informally for 11 years. Prior to co-​founding Unlocking Potential, she helped dozens of students tackle the SAT, achieving score increases of up to 600 points and getting kids into their dream schools.

Erin (co-​owner)

Erin is a credentialed teacher with several years of teaching, tutoring, and coaching experience. She has worked with students across grade levels since 2002 in both public and private school settings. Erin currently works as an educational consultant and travels across the United States delivering professional development for teachers transitioning into the Common Core Standards.
