I had so much fun here for 4th of JULY weekend!!! The staff were nice! We love reserving place at the top floor so you can watch the views, especially in Venice. Who does not love brick walls?!! The front of the building has these amazing brick walls reminds me of the East coast! This a gem to have! When you find it, you can’t let it go! Walking distance to a liquor store located on the corner of Navy street where you can buy drinks and CHIPS! Venice walk is a walking distance, Santa Monica pier has also the same distance. We love watching the sunrise from the top floor, which is bear in mind has barbecue grill and patio chairs! We bought some carne aside prior to coming to this place. Beer n’ Carne aside for 4th of july, AMAAAAZING BALLS! ;) We also get to meet people from different countries, so cool listening to different accents (Swedish couple, Columbian group of friends, and Russian girls). So if you would like to see friendly tourists and enjoy staying at a COOL PLACE right next to the beach, get to Venice Admiral Suites!

What a gem. I didn’t want to Über it to a party in Venice (about $ 100 r/​t from Woodland Hills) and managed to come across Venice Admiral suites a block from the Boardwalk after checking out the sister properties on the Boardwalk. (Venice Suites and Breeze Suites.) Both were fully occupied. For $ 215 (including tax and free parking) I got a studio apartment with a small equipped kitchen. The room was bright and nicely decorated with contemporary furniture, original wood floors and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was remodeled with glass tile surrounding a tub/​shower with good water pressure. There is a private rooftop patio with a 360 view. I will definitely return.

Location is great but that’s it. One of the issues is no front desk or management to assist you. That was a problem for us when the two dogs across the hall barked until 3am when left unattended and the couple running the halls and up and down the stairs yelling and no one to stop them. We got no sleep and had to drive over 3 hours the next day. I’m 5 foot and 100 pounds and I couldn’t fit in the shower. And like another review I read, our room smelled like gas!!!

I booked a room through Priceline and it turned out to be a nightmare. It was nowhere the 3 stars rated by Priceline and nowhere close to the beautiful photos posted on the website. Neither does it justify the $ 165/​night (pre-​tax) price tag.
The room was unclean and almost dilapidated. It was so dirty that my 2 year old refused to get down off the bed and step on the floor. Cracks on the ceiling, stains on the bedsheet, dirty drawers, dirty floor. the list is long. I am attaching a few pictures for you to judge. I will never recommend either Priceline or Venice Admiral to any of my friends.

I loved staying here! It felt like I was actually living at Venice beach!
You’re pretty much just staying in a little apartment right by the beach like literally seconds away.
It’s a little different check in then most hotels/​motels. Look in your email for instructions as there is no front desk, but if you didn’t get the info you can just call the building manager at the door. She was super helpful with us since I booked the night before and didn’t look at my email. She got us settled in right away! I believe you would normally get a building code to get access into the building then instructions for a lock box in the lobby area to get your room keys etc.

— Comfy bed and pillows.
— Lovely décor.
— Free wifi.
— Free parking (2 mins away, super close).
— You can chill on top of the roof of the building and see beautiful sunsets.
— 30sec walk to Venice boardwalk… close to skate park, muscle beach etc.
— About 15−20mins walk to Santa Monica Pier.
I didn’t see any bums hanging around the building (seen some reviews about it) but it wouldn’t surprise me if you did see some since your super close to the boardwalk. I will definitely be back on my next vacation to Venice Beach, very happy with my stay.

Upper floors are pretty great. First floor room I was booked into dank, airless and dirty. Great view of the wall of the building next door and bars crusted with pigeon shit. Mildew in bathroom and walls weirdly dirty. No cell reception, nobody to talk to.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a few days. We both wanted to hang out on the beach and not have to drive much. This place was great for both! You don’t even have to pay extra to stay in the parking garage a couple blocks away. Absolutely loved the roof deck and all the great places to each within walking distance. There’s also a small liquor store nearby with great selections and some basic food items. You almost feel as if you’re really living here.
The apartments are very old and full of character, like original built-​ins that usually get ripped out and you never see anymore. Keeping this in mind do not expect this place to be as maintained as a Best Western. The grout isn’t white, the couch has a few stains, and some things are a little funky. But that’s what we loved.
Also, we were worried that it might be loud or too hot in our room but this was not the case. We were on the 2nd floor and slept perfectly through the night (this was in April).

I really don’t know how this is rated 4⁄5 stars but maybe it’s probably just me. Our room, #37. Terribly hard to unload the car and use those old elevators that slam on you as you try to get in them. It wouldn’t have been bad if we didn’t have a suitcase and varies bags, but we did. (Nothing they can do about that). Room smelled like gas. Advertised as «ocean view», ya no, maybe if I climbed out the windows and up the ladder to the roof. No heater. We were cold. Very hit water though, soft towels, and you can walk to the beach but we where the bums. They tag team you when you’re not looking. But that’s every where highly populated I guess. Just not a good experience for us. On the up side, I did meet Dane Cook in Hollywood tonight!!!

My partner and I stayed here for 5 nights in March. We got in late the first night, and my partner was freaked out that the room was so «dirty» and the room so shabby. BUT, upon the light of morning, the room was not so bad. Yes, the upholstered chair in the room was dirty (and really should be thrown out), but the apartment was clean (kitchens and baths). The room is definitely shabby around the edges, but it reminded us of a NYC apartment. and being New Yorker’s we liked that! What was best though was being able to HEAR the ocean from our room. Room was a «partial ocean view» and that’s accurate… you can see the ocean over the rooftop of the building in front of you, but hearing the ocean is what makes it worthwhile. The NATURAL LIGHT in the room was also great. Room was quiet enough, although you may begin to hear street noise (e.g. garbage trucks) around 8:00am. Location was GREAT. Half a block to the beach. Two blocks to Main Street with Starbucks, etc. Parking was a bit of a hassle. Got tiring going to the parking garage a block away. A few times it was hard to find an empty spot in the parking garage… but if you were patient, one always opened up. We would stay here again.

I put my brother from Paris and his Italian wife up at the Venice Admiral Suites and couldn’t have made a better choice. They were able to stay in the penthouse with a view of the ocean with a huge balcony. Georgina, the manager, was ever so helpful — over and above the call of duty. It suited my snobbish relatives with it’s low key, European type environment and they were very happy. The location is great and the price was right. They’ll stay there again.

RENTERS BEWARE!
no idea how this place got such great ratings. The only reason why I even give it a one star is because the location is excellent! Other then that… the other posts must be from friends.
1. Place is old and dirty. I didn’t even want to touch the floor or the shower curtains because of how nasty they are.
2. Wifi does not work!
3. Homeless people sleeping in the building
4. Need I say more?
I rented here originally for one month because I relocated back to L.a. so I decided to rent a room here for one month while I search for a new home. I picked this place because of the high ratings and was absolutely shocked when I got there. Long story short, after finding a homeless man sleeping in the building I immediately asked for a refund and left. I don’t think it’s okay to have homeless people sleeping in your building especially if you are paying 4k/​month.
One upside is that they were very willing to refund the money, and I’m sure a situation like this doesn’t happen very often (i think). But even without the homeless sleeping there, at most I would give this place a 2 ½ star.

The location of this place is great and the rooms are pretty descent. The place is super loud cause it is all old hardwood floors so I didn’t get much sleep during my three nights there. There is really no view out the window. and no AC so I was kinda hot also. I didn’t pay for it so nit sure what the rooms run to say if it would be worth it.

It has everything i need to do my own thing… not right on the boardwalk, so we can get a lil break from the hoopla, but you’re still in the midst of venice and LA! Private and relaxing… My dog, boyfriend, and I loved it. Highly recommended.

Amazing location just half a block from Venice Beach and being closer to the Santa Monica end of the boardwalk that whilst you are still in the heart of Venice you don’t have quite the noise interference as with Breeze Suites, another of their locations — also wonderful.
Admiral is a great place to relax, find some peace, enjoy the breath-​taking sunsets and panoramic view from their cozy rooftop: Venice Beach, the Santa Monica bay, the Malibu coastline framed by the Santa Monica mountains, all the way across to Long Beach, Signal Hill and Catalina Island.
Other highlights include: Georgina, the awesome building manager, amenities included — everything from toilet roll, to coffee filters, to soap, clean towels, weekly maid service! Close to main street, health food shops, clothing stores, cafes (menus for some great local spots available in the Admiral Suites hallway), parking included, on site laundry and often plenty of soap lurking about down there, great weekly maid service, and totally non-​hotel vibe.

We wanted to stay at Venice Breeze Suites, but I was told they do not allow dogs, so they told me about Admiral.
It is half a block from the beach and 1.5 blocks away from Main St. So it is a great location.
What’s in the room? Pots and pans, dishes, fridge, a microwave oven, shampoo and conditioner, soap, 2 sets of bath towels, 1 set of face towel, 1 set of hand towel…
It would be good to bring paper towels and small dishes for your dog (their dishes are big).
We stayed at the first floor. It is really noisy, mainly from the room above because of the wooden floor. You can hear people talking and tv, also.
Cleaning people don’t seem to clean well. It is disgusting under the chair.
3 stars for the location and the fact they allow dogs.

My parents came to visit from Michigan in February and they stayed here for 6 nights. I live in Venice and wanted them to stay close to me and the beach, but beach hotels are ridiculously expensive. I stumbled upon Venice Admiral Suites while riding my beach cruiser around Venice. I fell in love with it immediately! It’s very cute, charming and since it’s at the north end of the Venice boardwalk and set off the beach a half block, it’s a quieter location with less Venice «crazies». A good quality for my Midwestern parents!
My parents ranted and raved about Venice Admiral Suites throughout their 6 night stay. For around $ 125/​night they stayed in a super cute, recently remodeled, studio apartment that had a full kitchen, free wi-​fi and FREE PARKING! It is impossible to get free parking at ANY hotel in Los Angeles so this impressed me the most!
It’s not a full service hotel, but rather more of a short-​term furnished apartment, so they don’t have daily maid service. This didn’t matter to my parents, as they were spending minimal time in their room. Also, there are no other full service hotel amenities such as concierge, bellmen, restaurant, workout room, etc. Again, none of this mattered to my parents, who were in town to enjoy everything LA has to offer, and had me to be their personal concierge.
My parents had nothing but fabulous things to say about their stay here. I literally asked them how many stars they would give this place if they were to rate it, and they both enthusiastically said 5! They said the staff was very friendly and helpful and that they look forward to their next visit so that they can stay there again.
Don’t waste $ 300-​$ 400/​night at Shutters or Casa Del Mar when you can stay here for under $ 200/​night and have an amazing experience!
