They have a great selection of beads and other things and will help you make whatever it is you’re trying to make which is helpful.
The owner definitely has a chip on her shoulder and I’ve had to really try to work with this. She seems to be trying to turn her ship around though so I give her the benefit of the doubt as often as I can. She really REALLY needs to work on her attitude though.
It’s almost as if she doesn’t actually want to help you, it’s so weird.
Anyway, I still shop here. Ill continue to do so as long as she doesn’t cross the line. I can handle a bad attitude usually, as long as she is fair.
Also, she has the nicest employees that work there. Unbelievably sweet.

The owner of the store is very rude. I tried to set up a class and she changed the price of the class twice. More than doubling it in the end. Still insinuating that she was doing me a favor by giving me a ‘good’ deal. It didn’t bother her in the least to not only lose the business of 8 women coming in to learn a craft when I cancelled, but 8 potential customers with friends who will now know not to shop there. I am all for shopping local, but not when you are treated so disrespectfully.

Beads of Paradise is a gem of a store. They have loads of wonderful beads and they are displayed beautifully. They have every bead and gem stone you could imagine. The owner Sylvia Morgan is beyond helpful. She is patient, kind, and will give you all the time you need. I went in for a pendant and she put it on a sterling chain for me, at the length I desired, and wired the clasp on with amazing craftsmanship. The other saleswoman continued to show me unusual beads and gave my ten year old daughter a lesson on her birthstone, and many other stones I might add. The prices were fantastic. I highly recommend this store to anyone who has a love of beads or jewelry. If I lived closer I would take lessons there. Visiting the store was a very positive experience!

Owner has way too much negative energy. I’ve tried to get past this many times, but it’s hard. I TRY HARD not to shop here, but in an emergency, I will. Early in my beading journey, I asked the owner what MATERIALS I needed to buy in order to make a specific project. She scolded me and told me that I was asking her HOW to make something and that I NEEDED to take a class from her. I explained that I wanted to BUY supplies and didn’t want to take a class. Then fast forward a few months later when I came in she started drilling me on what technique I use and how I do it!!! Owner comes across as a know-​it-​all and cannot contain her jaded view on the beading industry; etsy; bead shows; (fill in the blank); etc…

I purchased some gold & silver wire & cutters, and came back to exchange the cutters as they broke on me within 2 days. the owner came back and asked me what I had done to them. I said I cut the wire i bought from you, and she said impossible but *let me* exchange it. I didn’t want another one of their cutters, obviously, so I ask her what kind and gauge wire she could recommend for my handmade crown project, and showed her a picture of a hand-​made one with crystals. She looked at my phone for 1 second and said blandly ‘most people would just go buy a crown and put crystals on it.’
first of all, you have got to be sh*tting me. you run a craft store and are standing in front of a wall of different gauged wire. secondly, where exactly is this magical crown depot I dont know about. Unbelievable.

This shop is wonderful, and not just for the wide selection of semi-​precious stones, various jewelry-​making supplies, and incredibly informative classes they offer. This store’s biggest asset, and what makes it truly special, is the lovely, experienced, and talented ladies who work there.
My fiancé and I have been shopping here for a couple of years, and never once have we felt put out by the store owner or any of her employees. Quite the contrary, they have always welcomed us with open arms, and have been a plethora of information for beginning and experienced jewelry makers alike.
As far as those who feel they’re «being watched» while shopping here, I only have one thing to say: if you have no bad intentions upon entering, then it shouldn’t make you feel uncomfortable. Common sense dictates that this store sells a lot of relatively valuable merchandise that is also all relatively small and easy to conceal; they have every right to be overly cautious. If you’re not planning on stealing anything, then having someone close to you that works there seems pretty convenient to me.
As far as pricing goes, no, you’re not going to see wholesale prices like you might see at a large bead show. However, you’re also paying for the convenience of having a store such as this in your immediate area where you know for a fact you’re getting the real thing at its best quality, unlike going to Michael’s or Joann’s where you never know for sure.
All in all, Sylvia, Leana, and the other people who work here are great. They are always eager to give advice on any difficulties you might be having with a given project, and are always more than happy to talk at length with like-​minded people. Give this place a chance, embrace the learning environment they offer, and sign up for a class if you can – you definitely won’t be sorry!

This place has just about everything you could ever want, for beads or findings, A whole room full of semi-​precious beads and another room that was almost all pearls, in addition to all of the seed beads and all that. The woman working there mentioned that they have classes and I plan on checking them out in the future.

It was my first time there, a little hard to find. But, well worth it! The ladies in the shop were super nice! Helped me with everything ! They had everything I needed since I’m new to Wire Wrapped Jewelry. Beautiful stones and beads! They had a variety of tools and I had a mini lesson on how to hold the tools so my hand wouldn’t get tired. Highly recommend this store!

They have great classes there. I read some other reviews before I went the first time. My experience was pleasant. Yes, I was asked to put my purse away, which seemed strange at first. But I have come to appreciate it, since my purse does not slide down my arms this way, while I shop. I was allowed to take my project with me though. Indeed I felt followed a bit. But after a while I felt more that they wanted to sell and answer my question. That came in handy, because I had many questions
Recent update: I have been there a few more times now. I love the advise and selection. The store is devided into sections such as glass and silver and pearls … Etc. which makes it easy to shop. Also, I have been able to score some really good hobby /​bead books there. I have shopped around like most of us do from online and shows. However, there is still stuff at this store that I have not yet seen anywhere else. The quality is really good, not chipped nor broken, great colors. I was told they hand select product themselves instead of ordering it. I believe that actually shows. Another good thing to mention for new shoppers is that they carry tools and beading /​art accessories such as beadboards and pliers and material, boxes and gift cartons. I have gotten addicted to this place.

Was looked up and down when I entered the store wearing ripped jeans. Immediate bad vibe here. After searching through the (expensive) beads, the store owner I assume, called the shop next door for help (?!) she had 2 customers in the store! An elderly man from next door promptly came into the store, grabbed a chair and positioned it at the end of the isle I was in… talk about uncomfortable! I felt I was being watched from start to finish. I exited the store without buying anything and will never return. FYI ripped jeans and messy hair doesn’t make me a thief. I am a very successful Jewelry Maker, I drive a Porsche and earn in excess of $ 1,000,000. I had a lot of money to spend. You missed out. Don’t judge a book by its cover.

My wife and I signed up for a metallic clay course last weekend. The owner, Sylvia, conducted the course, which was great. All preparations were in place before we and the other attendees arrived, and we got started right on time. Staff made us all feel at home with our favorite coffee tea or chai latte.
The course was comprehensive, and as we left, our items went into the kiln, for retrieval at a later date.
Very pleasant experience.

Great store and wonderful selection. This store has good quality gemstones and a wonderful selection of almost eveerything. The service was nice. The best store this side of the valley… love it!

Well my opinion of this place is half and half.
They do have some lovely beads. That’s the positive.
Now the negative.
A couple of weeks ago I was in Beads of Paradise needing some supplies for some earrings I was going to make. I had been meaning to stop by the shop several times and the day before I went I found out they had a Groupon offering so I immediately bought it and went to shop. The owner of the store was there and the whole time I was shopping she was complaining about how much money she «lost using Groupon» and how much she «hated those coupons and wish she hadn’t offered them.»
All I could think was «HOW RUDE!» Groupon is voluntary. If you don’t want your store on there, don’t sign up… but DO NOT try to make your customers feel like garbage when they come in to use their coupons.
Other than that lovely experience, the people who work in there usually follow you around the store like you are going to steal something.
Also, the prices in there are quite high.

This place is simply AMAZING, I have been a regular customer for years because of their incredible selection and knowledgeable staff. The owner, really loves Beads and hand picks all of the inventory by hand… man can you tell. They will go above and beyond to help you find what you’re looking for, and if they don’t have it in stock they will order it for you, no problem!!! I am always in awe of the beautiful selection of semi-​precious beads, and cuts I haven’t seen anywhere else… They specialize in the UNUSUAL. I REALLY CAN’T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS STORE. I know there are many choices of Bead Stores, but most the staff is rude, and not very helpful… they act like they’re doing you a favor, not here. I think you’ll be pleasantly Surprised. If you’re up for a beautiful drive, the Ventura Store is «WOW», all I can say is GO, you won’t be disappointed. The selection is beads, and components you won’t see anywhere else. Oh” and they have lots of classes, to show you new and interesting beading techniques.
