Burger Brothers Moving And Storage

I will not be using Burger Brothers for my local move in Ventura because of the experience I had getting a quote. The person who answered the phone asked me questions about my inventory, size of house (1000 sq ft), size of storage unit (10×10), and estimated my move to be 3 men/​1 truck at $ 145/​hour, and expected it would take two 8 – 10 hour days or about $ 3500! Shocked, I asked him to reconsider this quote, as I would be getting other quotes to compare, and I just moved all of these belongings up here from Carlsbad (150 miles away) a year ago for $ 2000. I also asked if he wanted to come out to look at my house and belongings (which we prefer), but he said that’s not what they do for local moves. He argued with me and said he thought my storage unit was 10×15 (not sure if he thinks he’s psychic!), which I confirmed it is just 10×10. I said I was uncomfortable with the quote of 3 guys for 2 days, and how could I guarantee they wouldn’t drag their feet to rack up hours. He then hung up on me! Soo… he lost my business, and his completely unprofessional behavior is what prompted me to write this review. I feel that he jacked up the price because I was a female, and sadly he thought I didn’t have a clue. My boyfriend is calling the remaining movers for quotes (as he’s done moving himself in the past so they won’t be able to mislead him). So far our experience with the two other moving companies we called has been a night and day difference as compared to Burger Brothers. Thankfully!

We had an amazing experience with Danny, Skate, Jacob, George and Josh! They did exactly what they said they would do. They were very careful, efficient and a pleasure to work with. I would hire them again and again.

Moved me into a downtown LA loft, my new work pied á terre, from my warehoused goods in Oxnard. On time, loaded expeditiously, arrived in LA almost before I did and made it all into the loft all in 3 hours. Extremely reasonable cost with emphasis on the extremely. Had been recommended by a friend and I pass it on.

James and his team have moved my family three times and every time I’ve been very pleased. I highly recommend them over other companies in the area.

Excellent experience! George, Skate, and Josh are an absolute pleasure to spend the day with. While this is my first time hiring movers, I definitely hear horror stories from clients in regards to other moving companies. I am a real estate broker, so I hear a lot of stories about people moving.
Anyway, the crew was on time. They checked in with me beforehand to see if they should bring any spare boxes. The move was swift and no items were damaged.
Gas and water lines were all taken care of. A true respect for the house and all personal property was shown.
One note: I can definitely say I totally underestimated the amount of time it would take to move. We were moving from a small three-​bedroom, two-​bath house. We didn’t have any specialty furniture like pianos or safes. We were only moving about 1 mile and the day took about 8 ½ hours. I also had my house pretty well boxed up and organized. I mention this just so any reader can plan ahead: you will likely need more time than you anticipate. Burger Brothers Moving is fortunately very efficient. I could imagine another moving company would have taken much longer.

This company is amazing. I have used them for both moving and storage three times now and have been completely happy. They are professional and fun to be with and their pricing is most reasonable and fair. I highly recommend them.

Moved from SD to Camarillo and it was totally in my budget!

Scheduled my moving service with Burger Brother a week ago. Two days prior my moving date, I called to re-​confirm the time and the arrangement. A guy named James told me that all was set and good to go. Ten minutes later, he called me back and dropped a ball on me telling me that his boss said that they would be moving a hotel instead and had to cancel their moving service on me. Seriously?!? If I didn’t call to reconfirm their service, were they planning on just not showing up and left me hanging? Extremely unprofessional, unreliable!!! The worse was that I wasn’t notified until 6pm when most of the movers company were closed for the day. They now left me with 24 hours to find another moving company. Talk about adding stress to a move. These guys could care less. Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE!!!

I started to move our stuff and got really sick. we called them with less than 24 hours notice, they quoted us a very fair price without even seeing the place and showed up the next day on time. They took care to wrap my belongings, were very efficient and professional. They got my stuff to the new place and even organized and set it up for me. Theyre quote was extremely accurate. they never tried to pad the time or overcharge me. They were recommended to me and I will continue to recommend them to everyone. excellent service.

Moving is not an easy task, but we had a very good experience this time with the help of two guys from Burger Brothers Moving, Daniel and George. They were prompt, professional, careful with our possessions, speedy and quick to please. Not only that, they had great personalities and made the move «fun». Danny and James Burger are outstanding careful movers. We have used them three times to move our furniture, and never experienced any problems. They are well-​trained and professional. Burger Brothers Moving and Storage helped us move from our apartment to our new home and we had a very positive experience. We had a ton of stuff to move and there was no way we were going to be able to do it alone.
James, Jacob, and George are friendly, fast, efficient, and hard working. They were non-​stop the whole time they were assisting us. They asked us what was fragile, taped up loose boxes, wrapped furniture in furni-​blankets, asked us where we wanted things, and helped rearrange the furniture once we were moved in.

Less than impressed, we hired these guys to load our trucks for our cross country move. When we arrived to our new home we realized what a mistake that was. For starters they loaded boxes with removable lids on their sides so that once we got under way the lids popped off and the contents of said boxes spilled all over the truck. One of those boxes that they loaded sideways contained all of our Vinegar and cooking oils. So as you would imagine those spilled out all over the place, my wardrobe box full of clothes was completely drenched in sesame seed oil. Now I’m no professional mover or anything but putting a box on it’s side that has a unsecured removable lid is something I would NEVER do. The other issue I had was boxes that were clearly marked with UP ARROWS that we drew on the boxes, were loaded with arrows facing down. These guys are less than professional to say the least. Now I have things that need to be professionally laundered so they don’t smell like sesame seeds anymore.
UPDATE: After we finished unloading our second truck we discovered that they had packed furniture without wrapping it so about half of our furniture was destroyed. Our 1yr old stainless steel refrigerator now has 7 dents and is covered in scratches. After trying to contact them for over two weeks we were finally able to get ahold of them. They are claiming they are not responsible because they didn’t drive the trucks, and when asked why half of the furniture wasn’t wrapped they claimed they didn’t know we had that much stuff so they didn’t bring enough packing material. Clearly customer service is not in their business model.

I have been working with Burger Brothers for about eight years. They deliver high end cabinets to our job sites for new kitchen and bathroom remodels that we create. Danny and James Burger are great guys to work with and their men are experienced and courteous. They alway try to accommodate our requests and I can’t remember a time when they haven’t followed through. I highly recommend their services.

Moved from Fillmore to Agoura and they took great care of my things — they wrapped and blanketed delicate pieces and helped me pack what was left — the whole move was done in about 7 hours — very honest, friendly and true experts — they even hooked up my washer and dryer and rebuilt my bed frame with no problems

We hired Burger Bros to move my elderly parents from Camarillo to Oakland. Dan and James Burger really are brothers and they are experienced movers. James came by to do an estimate and it was right in the ball park. On the day of the move, they called before they came to see if we needed any packing materials and to see how we were doing. They arrived with a crew of about 6 to load, checked the details and got to work. They plastic wrapped, blanketed or both each of the large pieces. they loaded carts so they could unload about a dozen boxes at a time. Dan and one other guy drove the truck up to Oakland.
Summary: Full courtesy, professionalism, care — my mother, usually a tough customer, was very pleased. I would recommend Burger Brothers to anyone in Ventura county without hesitation.
