Glad to see some honest reviews here. Due to the fact I had no say in the choice, I had to suffer through breakfast here twice. NEVER again! It was unbelievable that such poor service could occur twice. Both times, We waited forever to place our order and waited just as long to receive them — over an hour wait total.

We where hungry and looking for good meal. And we have got it. I had a great Raspberry Walnut Salad with chicken breast and fresh raspberries. My husband had fish and chips. Both really yummie. So go and eat there.

I ordered a salad and the had no oil or vinegar or any balsamic but they offered a salad on sale that had vinnegrate but wouldn’t let me have that dressing for another salad. The salad came with little chicken and very few almonds and the manager said I could have a couple more almonds but more chicken was out of the question. I ate a bunch of green lettuce for 10 dollars.

This is probably our family’s favorite late night munchie and coffee spot. My parents can’t get enough of the coffee or veggie omelets. We like sitting near the bar area because there are a couple of big screen TVs there and we like catching the Jimmy Falon show when munching away. My parents always come in late and now know the servers, I forgot the name of their favorite. The drinks are also reasonably priced, my bf ordered a Long Island Ice Tea for $ 4 and. she made it super strong. Definitely worth it. We love the rye bread when ordering the hearty veggie omelet in addition to substituting a baked potato as the side. Its a lot of food for 8 bucks. It sometimes takes a while to come out despite the lack of crowd. but that’s what the bar is for, a distraction from our gurgling stomachs(docked a star). However, the late hours will always keep us coming back for more. Fries need seasoning(docked a star). Cheers!

We had the pumpkin pancakes, tasty and delicious. They have fresh and hot bteakfasts. Great place for a small or large group. Go hungry, you’ll be glad you did.

Love the food and late night runs were always a plus. Wish they still stayed open 24 hours that was the best part!

The service was fast and friendly the staff was very helpful and attentive. I ordered the lemon caper chicken, it was good, the sauce was a bit too salty for my liking but I don’t eat much salty stuff anymore so it’s worth a try. I saw a lot of empty tables that have yet to be cleaned not nice for dinning guest to see. Especially on a slow night.

Good for breakfast like Denny’s or IHOP. Close to our motel and the highway. Food was good and in ample portions. Service was friendly, attentive and quick. I would do Carrow’s again.

The food was good. Obviously it is not top of the line but not one complaint. All food was hot, tasted fresh & was delicious! Our server had 7 tables and really handled it with ease. He gave us great service and attention! Hector was our server and he was awesome! Kudos to that guy as we had 6 adults and 2 toddlers!

The last 2x’s I have been here service is mediocre and both times it took 40min+ to get our food. I was ready to walk out. Didn’t get no apology or nothing for them taking so long. Server was horrible, didn’t come to our table to even check if we needed anything. I used to like this place but this will be the last time I ever set foot in this restaurant.

Awesome customer service and food is always cooked perfect when I come in. Ruben, at the front, is always so attentive and willing to go the extra step to make your experience at Carrow’s great. Our waiter Stacy was so sweet and made sure we had everything we needed for our meal.

Was in town visiting and my mom wanted to go to Carrows usually we go to the one in Oxnard but this one was closer. I’m not that picky when it comes to eating out at a restaurant. so we go in the place is empty and no waitress up front. So when we do get seated our waitress looks like she doesnt even want to be there. So we order our drinks and my brother gets his«apple» juice and it literally looks and tastes like fizzy water like you’re really going to serve that to a customer? Overall very dissapointing):

Called at 10:30 to see when is the latest they take orders because last night they were closed early, the girl consulted with her boss and told us midnight would be fine to call. We just called at 11:15 and were told they closed early for maintenance. Why would you tell someone they could call back hours later if you knew you were closing for maintenance AGAIN? Now everything in the area is closed for the night and we have to try and find fast food that we can bring back to our motel. Really dropped the ball there.

The mister asked if I felt like having Carrows, my response: «babe, Carrows is more about the experience than the food but if you feel like it…»(this response was my feeling guilty to saying no to his suggestion, never again! haha). By experience I meant the unprofessional staff who behaves like a dysfunctional, druggie family and get into arguments in front of customers. We took a booth in their bar area, our waitress was rude to others but not to us. The pancakes I ordered were swimming in a strawberry syrup pool along with hash browns and sausage INTHESAMEPLATE. I noticed the woman in the booth in front of us make faces at her food and complain to the waitress. Same goes for the gentleman behind her, I panicked but thought they couldn’t go wrong w pancakes! WRONG! We both got food poisoning. I also heard the woman in the booth behind us throwing up in the restroom at the restaurant! They deserve negative stars and to be shut down for good!

Great food! Had a bowl of thick and spicey clam chowder. The garden salad with croutons came with a ranch dressing that had character. The decent sized baked potato came with sour cream and plenty of chives. Prime rib was great, and big enough to take a good portion home. Now(February 2015) open from 6 am to 1 am. At the corner of Harbor and Seaward(Seaward offramp from Highway 101).

On the road and wanted a sit down Breakfast, not a fast McSomething. Christa(my server) was chipper, and friendly. Sat me immediately and asked if I wanted Coffee or something else to drink. Ordered Coffee that came right away. Taking a sip I noted the coffee was bitter and luke warm, so I flagged her to tell that and ask for orange juice instead. While looking at the huge picture menu I couldn’t help but to hear the kitchen staff talking loudly in Spanish, so when the server came back asking for my order I said since the chef’s spoke Spanish I will assume they can prepare good Mexican food, so asked for a reco. She suggested the Chirizo/Egg Burrito or the Chirizo/Egg Breakfast, so I opted for the latter with Hash Browns and English Muffin. It arrived within 5 – 6 minutes and was fantastic! I was in and out in 20 minutes, with a $ 10 ticket. I tipped 20% and left a very happy camper!

In all honesty, you get what you pay for: Corporate, chain restaurant. Great things about this establishment is location. On the corner of Harbor Blvd and Seaward in Ventura– in the Vons shopping center off the 101. In regards to the food, again you get what you pay for… it’s good/decent food, especially if you starving and dying from hunger. On the other hand, the staff here and can use some work. You know when someone pretends to like their job…& or really doesn’t want to be at work? That’s the vibe I get from their workers. I would recommend coming at night-great place to «people watch» and eat ok food at a decent/affordable price. If you do decide to stop by I highly recommend the 2 for $ 20 deal on prime rib. Proportions are pretty good, you get alot of food: salad or soup, 2 sides and a corn bread or garlic bread with your steak.

My Red Hatters had a reservation for a holiday luncheon today in the Carrow’s at Seaward & Harbor in Ventura, 11:00 today. The food was tasty and good. However I had to pay for the absence of one of my Red Hatters. Her physician would not allow her to attend our holiday luncheon. She had a doctor’s appointment at 10:00 today. This was unfair and unjust to me, as Carrow’s never stated this policy of no show. Thank you Unilocal.Marlene W.

This is my third time here and have never had a positive experience. The staff is rude and gives the impression that doing their job is an imposition. Tonight I ordered their special cobbler, strawberry rhubarb. It came out and was grey! Add to that a dirty spoon and a dirty cup. I took one bite and it was disgusting. I politely asked for the strawberry pie instead and she brought the strawberry banana cream pie. I hate banana cream pie! Three of us ordered dessert, the other four ordered food. It took over 20 minutes to get their food. This place is beyond horrible and I don’t want to spend another minute here.
